  1. I wish somebody would tabulate the injuries by team in the B1G. All teams get injuries but are some more prone to serious injuries than others? And if so, by how much.
  2. Every time I read this I'm like WTF? You're the head coach. It's your job to take action to correct what you see as wrong and not wait until your had is forced. You're loyalty should to the university and kids to improve the program not to an assistant coach you keep on even though you disagree with his philosophy.
  3. And back then playing at DONU was an honor and the ultimate goal for a lot of kids, especially in-state or bordering states. With the state the program has been in for the last 20 years and especially the last 7 years we are having a lot harder time just getting the kids to come to NU even with scholarship offers which would have been unthinkable in the '90's.
  4. They probably signed a contract to play the game and I doubt "we don't want to play it now since we don't think we can win because it is outside the USA" is going to get them out of the contract. So we either play the game as scheduled and let the chips fall where they may or forfeit, take the loss and move on. And I never thought I'd see the day when we were too scared to play NW because we might lose no matter where the game is played. I think it will be a great experience for the players and staff. Probably an opportunity some will not have in their lifetimes.
  5. I've been hearing he is high energy individual and this clip seem to confirm that. Seems like the kind of guy the players would like playing for. I'm really hoping these new coaches can light a fire under the team.
  6. He's have probably been better just keeping his mouth shut or lying about a close competition up until the day of the first game. I've already seen a bunch of b!^@hing about Thompson being No. 1 (for now) but do people really think they brought in the starting QB from TX last year to sit on the bench?
  7. It was so refreshing to get a straight answer to a question like that instead of the usual coach speak that you normally hear.
  8. Another year, more presers, and they still haven't figured out a way for to questions to be heard. Ugh.
  9. When your team has had losing seasons 6 of the last 7 years (the only winning season under a coach everybody hates) with a combined record of 34-48, hasn't been to a bowl since 2016, turned down the opportunity to play in bowl in 2020, is coming off a the worst year in Husker Football history since the Bill Jennings era 60 years ago and has been overall poorly coached under the current regime it is hard for most people to be very optimistic. A lot of people are at the point where they take the yearly hype with a very large grain of salt and want to see some results on the field.
  10. Looking at the mediocre play of the OL the last few years hopefully this approach will lead to much improved play. It couldn't get a whole lot worse.
  11. I was like WTF when I saw that. Maybe they are still mad at us for trying to hire away Houston Nutt
  12. I think they already do. When a coach is fired it is the boosters that pony up for the buy-out cash. No reason they can't contribute to the new coaches salary. Maybe they can't pay directly but there is no reason they can't come to a private arrangement with the AD that if coach XXXXX is hired they will make a yearly contribution of $X,000,000.00 to the athletic dept. with the understanding it will go to supplementing the new coaches salary.
  13. Apparently not capable enough to replace a QB with a broken jaw and sprained ankle in the eyes of the coaching staff.
  14. What's alarming to me is even with AM being severely limited with his jaw wired & rubber banded together to keep it in place and having a high ankle sprain was that none of our backups were considered to be better choices play. That alone tells me where the QB room was and how much of an epic fail QB recruiting/development was subsequent to landing AM in year one of HCSF's regime.
  15. What bunch of jacka$$ comments for him to make. I've been in Florida twice to go to Orange Bowls the Huskers were playing in and quite frankly I couldn't wait to leave the state both times. And while the great plains states aren't my favorites either (but better than Florida) that is totally irrelevant. People live where they want to live for a variety of reasons and to make statements denigrating their choices is a downright stupid thing to do. I know where I choose to retire certainly would not be most peoples cup of tea but I absolutely love it here.
  16. Thanks. Downloaded and will be interesting to give it a listen.
  17. When it happens year after year for 4 years consecutively is it luck? I mean, NU could write the book on how to give away sure wins, choke, snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and just "blow it" so regularly you could set your watch by it.
  18. Interesting only 4 B1G teams in the top 25 so we aren't alone there. And three teams that are perennial contenders for the NC are in the top 5.
  19. Exactly. If this analysis is wrong as some are claiming and the statement in the article "A 3-9 season that should have been a whole lot better!" is hogwash then maybe 3-9 is exactly where we should have ended up. Even with all the close games and the ones we literally gave away. Doesn't bode well for the future at all.
  20. No. https://cfbnumbers.substack.com/p/a-numbers-nightmare-the-tragedy-of https://collegefootballdata.com
  21. No surprise here. Judging by the immense disappoint I've felt after every season, almost every game, the past few years I certainly can't dispute these numbers. Ugh
  22. I think Jurgen's has the highest ceiling of any of the guys that are going to give the NFL a shot, drafted or FA.
