  1. Section 23 and I'll do my best to get some NOISE going! GO BIG RED BEAT THE BUFFS
  2. Yeah, I'd like to see some pics too. Way back when I was an art major in college, so always interested in supporting the fine arts.
  3. I say HELL no as well. Do you remember where we were in 2007? We are moving in the right direction. We are not going to win them all yet at this point. I remember a number of years TO had 9-3 seasons. This team has a chance to go 12-2 and it CAN happen. Don't lose faith. GO BIG RED BEAT THE BUFFS!!
  4. I enjoyed watching the "scoring explosion" in '83 put up 48 third quarter points on CU. It was 14-12 at halftime and then Gill and Co. took off. Final score was 69-19 Big Red. I also enjoyed the game back in the 70's when Johnny the Jet ran a punt back for a TD. My cousin was the deep snapper for CU at the time. Fun rubbing it in how he missed a tackle on Johnny that day.
  5. I'll be there and I'll be yelling. I hope the guy who just stands up in front of me and never yells decides to YELL as well. Memorial Stadium needs to be as loud as it was back in 2008 after the 57 yard field goal and Suhs's pick-six. GO BIG RED BEAT THE BUFFS!!
  6. It was quieter where I was. Guy in front of me stands up most of the time but DOESN'T yell! If you are gonna stand up then MAKE SOME NOISE. I don't think I've ever seen him cheer, he just stands there, he's not a blue hair either. My dad who is 80 makes more noise at the games than this guy. Some of us were yelling when defense was on the field in my section, but many more were pretty quiet.
  7. I remember listening to that game on the radio. Was a junior in High School. I was in marching band at a marching contest. Had a radio up inside my band hat.
  8. Section 23, row 42, seat 23. GO BIG RED! I'll be there with my dad, who used to watch the Huskers from the "knot hole" section when he was a kid. He's 80 now.
  9. Here's hoping the 2010 or 2011 Huskers make Suh's prediction come true. I wish he had at least one more year to wear the Scarlet and Cream. Would have been sweet to watch him for another year.
  10. The Southeast band was in fact already scheduled to be in the Holiday Bowl parade long before the Huskers were picked to play there. I was surprised they didn't already know Hail Varsity. But then I guess not every Nebraska High school uses that for their fight song. My alma mater used it, I can still play it 30 plus years later. (band nerd here too..Trumpets ROCK!!) According to the local news, they learned 3 new songs: Hail Varsity, There is no Place like Nebraska & March of the Cornhuskers.
  11. I can't recall my very first Husker game, it was back in the 1960's. (yeah, I know I'm OLD! according to some of you anyway! ) I have better recall of games in the early 1970's. Watched us beat Miami a number of times in the mid 70's. My college roommate was from Miami, we played them here in '75 & '76. I remember the 1972 Oklahoma game watching Johnny Rodgers play at memorial stadium for the last time. Huskers lost that one 14-17. I have many great memories of games in Memorial Stadium.
  12. 1) Orange Bowl following 1994 season. Took my folks, great seeing T.O. win his first national championship with my dad. 2) 1978 Oklahoma game. 3) 1977 Alabama. Crimson Tide was rated #4 going into the game. Huskers were unrated. Huskers 31 Bama 24 4) 2001 Oklahoma game (was on my birthday..great present!!) 5) Hard to pick just one more..... I've been fortunate to have seen a number of great games over the years. GO BIG RED!
  13. I was at the Orange Bowl game in 1993 when we were the best team but still got beat. The players used Unfinished Business as the theme for 1994. Let's do it again Huskers. Unfinished Business ....remember 00:01 !! GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!
  14. Saturday night I was sitting next to a man who was there 50 years ago when we beat OU to snap their 47 game winning streak. He said he stood up the entire 4th quarter that game. We didn't sit much in the 4th quarter of this game either and we were both making noise. So some of those "old timers" are still making noise! He'll be 80 next year, he's my dad. GO BIG RED!
  15. I'd have to go with Colorado. Have an uncle who's in his 70's now and he tells of attending games in Boulder in the 60's and getting his Husker hat stolen and tires flattened. So CU get's my vote hands down.
  16. This 53 year old WOMAN will be there! GO BIG RED!! (have family in Hilton Head SC, so flying in there and driving down to the game with them)
  17. I'd buy that poster for sure and send a copy out to my cousins in Colorado! (they are all CU fans ) I was at the game, the stadium did more than erupt when the kick went through. Our tickets are in the staid "old" west stadium and even there we were all rocking!! GO BIG RED!!!
  18. I'm partial to the red jersey white pants look..the red socks were cool too. Not a big fan of all white.
  19. Coming out of my lurking mode..the Big 12 DOES recognize co-division champs. Go to Huskers.com.....http://www.huskers.com//pdf7/134550.pdf Notice Nebraska is listed as tied for first in 2001. The representative in the championship game is the winner of the head to head. So what ever team from the south that ends up in KC shouldn't consider themselves the EDIT champions division winner because another team from the south beat them? Next year: Undisputed north division EDIT winner AND Big 12 champs!! No, because with 2 teams tied, the head-to-head is the tiebreaker, and that's what makes Missouri the B12N rep in the championship game. The head-to-head doesn't break the B12S 3 way tie.
  20. GO BO! I don't know how many times this past season after a game I said..we should never have let Bo Pelini leave this state. Now that he is back... I say GO BIG RED, GO BO! I've been just reading the board for the past months, had even forgotten I'd already registered an account. Wanted to come out of the lurking mode to post my support for our new HC.
  21. Just found this board tonight. Usually I call my dad and discuss the game but he must have been watching the game from someplace besides home. SO just want to say WAY TO GO RED!!!!!!!!!!! and ...Whew, what a crazy last play of the game! GBRNU1
