  1. Zac Lee was the kid you went to school with that sees you in a store 20 years later and remembers your name... but you don’t know who the heck he is. You feel terrible because you graduated with 63 kids and you’ve completely forgotten one of them. Zac Lee “I was the starting QB at Nebraska in 2009.” Average football fan “Right, and I played center for the Helena Handbaskets.”

  3. Fortitude is something we expect from our players and coaches, but apparently not something we can expect of our fan base. If this program falls apart, it will be due to constant change and lack of fortitude from the fans living in the past. At some point we have to show we stand for something, anything, other than constant change. This article is spot on in my opinion: https://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/mike-bianchi-commentary/os-sp-ucf-scott-frost-nebraska-cornhuskers-20191030-5rh3kc2jf5hzhhvvpc6zscwyky-story.html
  4. I heated up some days old pizza, and let it sit for a minute to think what I want to post. That was 35 minutes ago. I’m at a loss. I keep writing things and then deleting them. Honestly, it feels like rooting for an intelligent, narcissistic alcoholic. They know they’re better than their addiction, and believe they’re smart enough to beat it on their own, but they tailspin into drinking every time something doesn’t go their way. It’s not just the team, it’s a portion of our fan base too. The coach is young & is one of our own. If you think there are better options out there for our program, you’re up in the night. It’s getting to the point where people won’t want to come here because of the fans and the unrealistic expected instant gratification. These coaches need time to grow themselves. A rebuild takes time. As fans, we’re only going to shoot ourselves in the foot if we don’t support this current team. The Husker fan base comprised generations of the Best Fans In College Football. That’s our tradition. Don’t let that die too. We show up and fill every seat at every home game. We travel well. We persist because we care about the tradition, and everything this program is supposed to stand for: A culture of Hardwork, Dedication, Determination, Fortitude and Community. As fans, if we’re going to expect players to value those pillars, we need to value them too. Don’t give up on this coach and his staff.
  5. JoJo Domann had some pretty pointed comments on the Carriker Chronicles on Wednesday: When ask how he would grade their season so far JoJo said “I’d give us a C.” He went on to say “We’re proficient. We know how to do our jobs...” “We definitely have that next gear that we need to hit as a unit, and that’s going to come with guys filling out, guys being committed, guys being dedicated day in and day out, not just excited to put on the Nebraska uniform on Saturday to run out the tunnel. Guys that are about the process and guys that love football and are hungry, and once we have guys like that, the sky’s the limit.” You read that right... “And once we have guys like that...” The culture is worse than we ever knew and it is going to take time to cleanse. People need to slow down with expectations, including (especially) myself. 6 wins should be the goal. I had hoped they were in a better position to be successful, but hearing that there continues to be a buy in problem from a player that has heart is gut wrenching. Get those who don’t care the he11 out of there. https://www.omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/carriker/carriker-chronicles-jojo-domann-on-nebraska-s-goals-going-forward/article_b1449e37-c5fd-5ffb-901e-6600e0de70d8.html
  6. @BigRedMax. Thanks again for checking into this. Here is the screen shot from today:
  7. Well, I had a lot to drink that night and wasn’t seeing clearly. Let’s make it 6 and call it a year.
  8. Thank the football gods. Glad he’s going to be okay. Hopefully that means okay by the IU game. We might just win 6 games yet.
  9. Just remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye and he says, “Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it”
  10. I have a buddy who is a Wisconsin fan. He’s always telling me we can’t compete in the B1G. I can’t help but laugh. Every time I tell him the following: 1. Alvarez played at NU. He built Wisconsin’s program after that of NU’s. Wisconsin has kept that culture, Nebraska went away from it in 2004. 2. This year’s 150 lists have been a good reminder of what we’re trying to build again: Nebraska teams named #1 and #4 all time. They had 6 teams named in the top 50 greatest of all time. The ENTIRE B1G has 6 teams named in the top 50. Let that set in. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/page/CFB150teams/the-150-greatest-teams-college-football-150-year-history
  11. (Facepalm) Speaking strictly of their potential and size, not the color of their skin, JB. Also, did you only read the first part of that response? I clearly mentioned and celebrated others who do not fit your profiling.
  12. First and foremost, guys with the last name Benhart, Corcoran and Prochazka will be on the oline. None of them would have come here with the 3 previous coaching staff’s. Adrian, Wan’Dale, Maurice & Luke wouldn’t be here. On the defense, we have CTB, Robinson, Noa Pola Gates, Henrich, And on and on.... We’re getting guys Bama is recruiting. When did that happen so frequently since Saban got there? We definitely had a few greats develop during that time, but based on the performance of Alabama and the fact we’re competing for the same kids in recruiting and winning, tells me that A LOT is changing. For hell’s sake man, the best players on our team are Freshman and Sophomores. That says something.
  13. In 5 years everyone will think these first couple years were worth the pain and suffering. They are building something special.
  14. You completely missed my point, or I assumed it was too easy to gather from the video. I agree Frost is the right guy. The point of my posting that was to show that there is still a major culture issue with the players. We can’t expect the coaches to fix that entirely until the cancer has been removed.
  15. “Need to get away from each other a bit?” Does anyone remember a line like this from the 90s? I don’t. Look, I’m sure they drive each other nuts, but to say it to the media is WAY different. This just confirms that there is still a major culture issue.
  16. Strength and Conditioning... hmm... guess not. I’m over it
  17. Ryder - I know you Rider Grey - Touch of Grey Scarlet - Scarlet Begonias
