  1. I think he was trying to give them credit. Frost blamed not having enough talent the entire first year he was here when he couldn’t win. M
  2. Ajay Allen is gonna have some options at the end of the year. Maybe we can get the kid paid and hold onto him.
  3. Yea.. Probably an exaggeration but basically said that Manning practices seemingly every other day. Also said that he was wanting to redshirt so he could play his final year elsewhere. He hasn’t done much this far and isn’t going to be here next year so it wouldn’t surprise me if Mick gives him his walking papers.
  4. Assistant AD (soon to be former) Brendan Stai caught on a hot mic during a podcast. They reaffirm some of the rumors of Scott being late to and missing meetings. Discusses Omar and Yant threatening to quit the team on multiple occasions. Omar wants to redshirt so he can play his last year somewhere else. Then they proceed talk about how poor our o-line is especially Benhart. Extremely embarrassing for somebody in his position to be discussing players like this. Just an all around dumpster fire and frustrating on so many different levels. It’s been deleted but somebody was able to capture most of it and posted the link to reddit. This program needs a cleansing.
  5. I think it was a mistake putting him out there to start with imo. He never looked ready.
  6. Hell just as well make it a family affair and hire his brother for Strength and Conditioning and his cousing Terry for the DB's. He was a good coach. Jus
  7. Chinander doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of being on this staff next year. But Mickey has his plate absolutely full at the moment with what he's just been thrust into I'm not sure that firing your defensive coordinator 5 days before the OU game is the right move. And to think you're going to fire your DC and expect to do a 180 in the middle of the season is next to impossible. I just hope he can make these guys play to the correct gap and get to the right zone, that would be a start.
  8. That was so he could golf in the afternoons obviously!! But seriously maybe he wasn't the first guy in the building, maybe he was late a couple times. But these people are trying to make it out that he was showing up hungover and late every day and I just don't buy that.
  9. Definitely the day Frost was hired and it's not close for me. At the time he was the most coveted coach, and a Nebraska alum at that. I had never been more certain that Nebraska football was back. Now we're faced with a long coaching search, where it's likely that the candidate won't be named for 2-3 months. Talk about agonizing. For the record, I have a lot of confidence in Trev Alberts. But the fact is I don't think there is one realistic coach out there that the entire fanbase will be even half as excited about as we were with Frost.
  10. Definitely not saying it hasn’t improved but also keep in mind we’ve faced 3 putrid defensive lines/defenses thus far.
  11. We have missed our fair share of tackles don't get me wrong, but some of it is more than just bad technique. Asking a safety to come from 12 yards off the ball and make a tackle on a guy that went untouched (because we have wide open gaps that guys are running through) is a lot tougher than it looks. A safety has to react to the ball so that ball carrier generally already has a head start on you, and then you have to make a play in the completely open field, it's tough to even get a hand on somebody let alone tackle them.
  12. Hope so too. The kid doesn't need another set back but a broken tibia is the rumor, but hopefully it's just that, a false rumor.
  13. Shawn Peed is an a$$h@!e. I am curious, what was said?
  14. Yea Sip, it’s been a weird week, but please don’t take that as excuse.
  15. Supposedly practice was very physical today. Some might even call it a bloodbath.
  16. There was a fairly reliable poster on another site that had eluded to some of this quite some time ago but it seemed to get blown off. There's a lot going around now and I hate to even keep repeating it because honestly it's a moot point and it makes me want to puke. You can point to a lot of things that were red flags honestly.
  17. Sounds like the Blackshirts are gone for now.
  18. It's interesting that this is one of the first changes made by Joseph. Is that really the goal to cut back on partying by players or what are the other advantages?
  19. Practice is "Night and Day" different. Whatever that means.
  20. I think it's going to be mostly structural changes, more consistency in practice, more discipline. Nothing that can change overnight. Other than that I think he can bring a lot more energy than Scott did, which won't hurt. Other than that I suppose he could consult some people outside the program to get some suggestions for tweaking the defense but you can't fix our D-line getting blown off the ball. A lot of issues seem to be guys not playing to their assignment, incorrect gaps/leverage. Maybe he can make some improvements on that but you can't make guys learn how to tackle overnight either.
  21. For sure some general changes to practice/daily schedule.
  22. Kind of my thought. Watson was Whipple's guy so you have to be thinking that he may reopen his recruitment.
