  1. I know Watson is Whipple's dude but Mickey is HUGE on in state recruiting. I wonder if there is any chance he reaches out.
  2. That is too good! I mean I'm sure he has as much inside info as anyone and it would be very tough to know certain things that you obviously cannot reveal but you really nailed it lol.
  3. Admittedly I don't know a whole lot about Campbell but from the little I've seen it seems that he would be a very similar personality to Alberts. Even though his teams have been GOD awful, I believe Hoiberg fits well Alberts which is probably why he got another year after a historically bad season.
  4. No, it literally cannot get any worse on defense than what we seen Saturday in my opinion. The only reason that we didn't give up 60 points is because our offense moved the ball so well and had 0 turnovers. Had the offense not had 575 yards and 31 minutes time of possession GS very likely would have scored 60+ as well.
  5. There was a poster that was banned from the other Husker website for his comments on our S&C program. I'm not sure exactly what his ties/connections are to the program but he has been saying it for years that our S&C program is not good, and that it is a big part of our struggles. Unfortunately that isn't something that can be fixed over night but I do expect a change there very soon.
  6. That's funny you say that, because I've only left two games early in my time as a Husker fan. One was the Ohio State game in 2017 that you speak of and the other was on Saturday. I left both before half time. Both times was my own little way of casting my vote so to speak. As for picking between Frost and Riley, it's hard to figure out who was the least worst.
  7. In regard to the money, why is it a foregone conclusion that the tab had to be picked up by a booster? I know that used to be the norm but this is a totally different age. Usually these contracts are paid out over a number of years and with these obscene tv deals and conference payouts can the University not afford to pay him $2.14 million over the next 7 years or something similar? I mean universities can't actually put any money towards NIL deals, that obviously all has to come from outside money. It would certainly make more sense for a booster to use that money towards NIL if it was feasible for the University to cover the buyout. Maybe that's not at all possible I'm just not sure that its a certainty that a booster had to pick up the entire $7.5 million.
  8. We've lost 10 straight one score games. There's your identity.
  9. If I were a betting man, I would take the odds that he doesn't make it though the season. And likely not through the week. Most of the other coaches that we have at this point have plenty of resume they would all land jobs, and probably decent ones at that. I highly doubt Chins get's any major gig anytime soon though, certainly not as a DC.
  10. I mean I know what you're saying but Georgia Southern almost scored at will on Saturday. I'm not sure how much worse it can get. More realistically I think you have to stick with your scheme but I think we have no choice but to be more aggressive and take some chances on defense. More blitzes, stunts, etc. You obviously risk giving up some big plays but we've done plenty of that already.
  11. No doubt. My post was only in regards to player reactions. Regardless of how this season plays out it may pay dividends in regards to players coming back next year as well.
  12. I can’t seem to find the tweet but it was posted somewhere that when they announced Mickey as the interim coach there was a lot of cheers and such from the players. If there is one silver lining in this mess I believe that Mickey is an ideal interim coach. He’s an alumni that cares about the program, he’s a great recruiter, and his players love him. I think he’s a guy that guys can rally around in these tough times. He also has a great chance at being retained and provide a bit of continuity.
  13. And here we are in year 5 and we ran almost a completely different offensive scheme in the second half of a game against, wait for it, North Dakota…. Our opponents have rarely had to adjust what they do on either side of the ball against us.
  14. I was only sharing a rumor from another board, I don't really have any thoughts on if it's really true or not and it doesn't really matter. But I'll say if you aren't getting along with your boss, telling him to go f#&% himself is a really good way to get fired, in fact it works almost every time. I'm sure that Frost seen the writing on the wall, so if there were any tensions I'm sure he didn't hold much back.
  15. Didn't provide any real details. Said there had been a lot of Tension between Alberts and Frost going back to last season. Claimed that it took place after Frosts' presser and whatever Alberts said got things very heated and Scott "had enough". Went on to say that Frost has felt hamstrung by Alberts and Frost "placed some blame there".
  16. Here's what I'll say stuck out the most to me about Alberts presser and I'm not sure how I feel about it. He says multiple times that he thinks Joseph will make some immediate changes. Also mentions accountability a couple times. In my opinion I felt like Alberts really hasn't liked what he saw and has probably been wanting this change for a lot longer than 24 hours. When he says that he wanted it to work I'm not sure that I believe him. Or at least believe that he actually thought it would. I believe the loss last night basically gave him the permission to do what he already wanted to do a while ago. Now you can take this a couple different ways. 1. He sees that there are some easy changes that can be made within the program that could lead to a much more disciplined team, which in my opinion is what has seperated Nebraska from most of our conference foes the last 4 years. Northwestern, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Purdue, even Illinois. It's hard to argue that any of these teams have recruited more talent than us but it's easy to say that have all been more disciplined teams. 2. If he truly thought this than why even bring him back? What a damn waste of a year... This leads a lot of credence to the fact that Alberts actually wanted to fire Frost last year, but didn't have the support from the majority of fans and boosters.
  17. I thought maybe I was the only one reading too much into that comment. It's hard for me not to go back to all the rumors of Frost and Chins getting blasted at the local country clubs and other late night festivities. The comment very easy could have been a generalization about the next guy but it sure didn't feel like it.
  18. Rumor on another board of a heated verbal altercation between Frost and Alberts after the game last night. A possible contributing factor to the timeline being moved up if true I suppose.

  20. Not looking for a debate, just genuinely asking what you wanted to happen from here. Do you just disagree with the timing or do you just disagree with the decision all together? Again, just asking what's you thought was the correct move from here.
  21. Yea honestly it was pretty clear from his presser he really didn’t have any answers and was pretty sick of it. Frost knew he was a dead man walking.
  22. For the third week in a row I learned that we are worse than I thought. But mainly I learned that I’ve seen too much of this over the last few years I just couldn’t mentally sit through another one. The way they were scoring at will was demoralizing the team and I knew it would eventually be too much to overcome. It was predictable what was going to transpire so I left before half time. Only the second time I remember leaving a game early, the other time being in Riley’s last season when Ohio State beat the pants off of us.
