I'd be kinda surprised if we didn't see Bryce transfer. His father seems to think he's better than he really is and Bryce probably sees the writing on the wall. Unless he stays through spring to see how things go with a new o-line coach.
To a certain extent you can only do so much as a coach though.. I mean we had the 1st team all B1G kicker return and just lost his confidence. What's more concerning though is I think we have about 15 punt return yards on the year. I mean if we aren't going to attempt a return could we at least attempt to block one occasionally? Also the "punt right" that cost us the MSU game. From what I can tell we rarely do directional punts, so why in the most critical moment of the game we attempted to do then when it's not something we normally do is really beyond me..
Sweet video. Awesome we were able to get a couple guys in the league. That’s going to give them some great ammo for when they’re sitting in the living room of a 5 star recruit.
I would have to say that I agree it does feel like we’re delaying the likely inevitable. When you start cleaning house on assistants and changing schemes it seems unlikely to work out. I still think Trev was caught of guard by how things transpired here in the heart of the season going winless against Minni and Purdue and how that effected his decision. You can bet your a$$ though he’ll be working on a short list in his spare tine.
This is why only Frost gets another year in this situation when nobody else would. This means something to him and he will try and do whatever it takes to turn this around. 98% of coaches would never agree to that deal.
Yea it seems like all of our lineman other than Cam Jurgens have done nothing but regress here. I still hope they can make studs out of Piper and Corcoran in their time here.
Giant red flag to have your co #1 RB to start the year (Stepp) end up being 4th on the depth chart (oh wait never-mind he’s number 2 again this week) and then your #4-5 backs end up #1 and 2 (Rhamir and Yant). In my opinion he’s got to do a better job if identifying your best guys before the season starts. I feel like we’re just throwing s#!t at a wall to see what sticks.
Yea I realize that but I think ideally they’d like Corcoran at guard if they can find another tackle. But at worst if they move him to RT he’s probably less likely to be matched up against the opposing teams best lineman and won’t get ran around so much. My point was one really good player like Teddy can make a big difference because it may actually help you upgrade multiple positions.
Just hope that Teddy is the stud he appears to be. Then maybe Corcoran can move to guard and upgrade two positions at once. Jurgens is playing well. Nouilli has a high ceiling. Throw the rest of the o-line in at RT and surely can find somebody better than Benhart…
That’s just it, when you really need him he just doesn’t come through. He never has, not even once, led us on a drive to take the lead or to win the game that I can recall.
Frost’s game plan setting up well. Cue special teams blunder, allow OSU to open up the game. Sets up well for AM to make a second half comeback and lose a close one.
