  1. Yea I was worried about Wan’dale transferring until I read that it was too Kentucky.
  2. We'd have to get pretty creative to put our usual positive spin on that one!
  3. I've heard many different rumors. One was he basically opted out but had a change of heart so he played some snaps at Northwestern but then went back to opting out. Also heard that grades were an issue but that really doesn't have any merit since he played in a game. Either way, good to have him back.
  4. I doubt that he expected to start this year but it has probably set in that he won't start at any point in the next 4 years with the players that are in front of him. You're putting too much thought into this, seriously.
  5. We had two freshman starting at his position in our last game. He was a project and is behind some good players who are younger than him, this is a good thing for both player and team.
  6. Easy to drink the kool-aid with with all the recruits but man I just have a good feeling about this kid.
  7. I’ll set the over/under at 2 years for him entering the transfer portal.
  8. Yea I’ve been beating that drum for a while. Kade Warner and Damian Jackson make nice stories for the Sunday paper but in my opinion this team will be better when the team captains are the leaders ON the field.
  9. I think Honas is one that could really benefit. I still thing his ceiling is higher than what he’s shown.
  10. I guess you could say Bootle was consistent, and this may be a knock on our entire defense as much as it is on Bootle. But the amount of snaps he played with only one career interception almost has to be a statistical anomaly...

    Jack Stoll

Speaking of Pitchford, he would of been good in Hoibergs offense.
  12. Those guys were all projects so it’s no surprise they aren’t contributing quite yet. But we took a big lineman class that year and with Corcoran, Piper, and Benhart looking like they are going to be entrenched starters for years it wouldn’t surprise me to see one of those guys move on either.
  13. Just shoot free throws better and this season looks a little different. We have some good players just haven’t gelled as a team. I’d like to have all these guys back.
  14. During a tough season a lot of guys were probably unhappy and were rumbling about moving on but the reality of the situation, especially this year, is that there isn't going to be a ton of open spots for a lot of these guys unless they want to go to a much smaller school. I think quite a few will evaluate their situation and realize they may just have to stay where they are at. Besides that I could probably rattle off 15 guys that could transfer out and really not be missed. If we do lose some guys, I'd guess maybe only a couple will be guys that hurt.
  15. I heard a rumor that his grades we’re an issue but he played in a game so I really don’t know if that has much truth.
  16. Yea coach Dewitt really had the linebackers playing well. At UNC
  17. I don't think it has anything to do with making calls, I'm thinking more size and strength. @Husker in WI I agree on pretty much everything you said except for on Miller. He was highly rated but last I heard it would be a while before we should see him contribute but who knows. Should be a hell of a battle at guard and I'd like to think whoever wins should be pretty solid. I feel good about our pieces we just need to develop them and put it all together.
  18. Does Saban know that Ohio State beat Indiana lol? What a buffoon.
  19. I don't hate that Wandale gets touches when we're inside the 10, he's small and shifty and can squeeze into some open holes. But he's the kind of player that should be scoring from more than 10 yards out. And I'd prefer we get him outside a bit more when we do decide to run him. Either way, he's arguably are best offensive player, if he he's not getting in the end zone you're doing something wrong.
  20. I think so, I think right now are biggest problem is lack of home run threats via running or passing. That means we have to sustain long drives for nearly all of our scores, and when you are prone to penalties, bad snaps, and fumbles, that makes it tough to do. Thus why we have put up a decent amount of yards but have failed to put up a lot of points. So we need to: Find a threat in the vertical passing game. I can't recall us having one deep throw for a score. Wandale was close on one and Martinez over threw him. Play a running back with a little more speed. I liked Mills and he did finally pop a few big runs against Rutgers but he still couldn't score. He's a tough runner but in my opinion we need a guy that we can get into space and he can break runs for TD's. Of course we have to get him into space which goes back to our previous point. Eliminate more of those penalties, bad snaps, and turnovers so that we aren't getting behind the sticks when you are trying to sustain long drives. Score in the red zone. We weren't great inside the 20 this year. Bottom line is Frost's offense isn't built on sustaining long drives. You have to hit some home runs and we aren't hitting them. Just my idiot opinion.
  21. There's just one glaring difference. Fields- 15 TD, 5 INT Penix JR- 14 TD, 4 INT Martinez- 4 TD, 3 INT However Martinez, did do a lot more on the ground than the other two so maybe that's where he makes up for it. I'm with you Mav, I think Martinez is better than he gets credit for, that's why I just have a hard time figuring out why our offense sucks. We put up yards but we don't score.
  22. I have no idea what this means.
  23. These guys have been isolated for months in order to play what turned out to be a horrendous season.. I had a close connection with somebody on the team. Long story short he was miserable and quit, when he went in it was implied that he was among quite a few that had decided to call it quits in the last couple weeks.. I’m telling you guys that it’s just not fun right now and we are better off letting these guys go home and regroup. Hopefully most guys return and we can get back on track next spring.
