  1. The media, locally and nationwide, as well as the fanbase, were all more than fair and complimentary towards Bo and his staff, if that's an argument being made. When the post-OSU game hot mic was leaked the fanbase largely centered their anger on the leaker more than on Bo. We all ate up late-in-his-tenure positive PR campaign featuring FauxPelini's cat in the spring game, surprising a family with their dad coming home from serving overseas, etc. No one ever held Carl or Marvin Sanders accountable for their presumably explicit and outrageous off the field habits. There are plenty more examples of the positive or silent responses to Pelini's tenure that, if we're suggesting the fans should look at more critically, would have led to his seat being much hotter much sooner than it was. Rremember when he nearly hit a ref with his hat, described the officiating as 'chickens#!t' in his post game presser and then actually dared Eichorst to fire him after 2013 and he didn't get fired?
  2. A good list of folks. Been on this board almost 20 years at this point which is wild to think about (no need to dive into those details if that seems confusing thnx)
  3. Songs specifically and explicitly related to a sports team are always cringe, and I think the reason is because we all know subconsciously it's not actually art but just craft. But that has no invitation to interact with it mentally, its just a passive listening for easter eggs and then patting your back about it. idk, at least personally it doesn't matter how famous the person is or how good the production is it just screams 'try hard' to me. This particular song isn't too bad to use during a timeout or warmups or whatever but I think it'd be a mistake to make it a focal point. Also, hate to break it to you, but there's an alternate version of otherwise the exact same song for another football team:
  4. That's not really true. He was never effortlessly comfortable throwing the ball, but to say "He started to unravel the more they asked him and he tried to be a drop back passer" is not accurate. The next game was Texas, and he played terrible because our entire team played terrible together, but the game right after was Oklahoma State where he went 23 of 35 for 323 yards and 5 touchdowns. Then the next game was Missouri where he suffered the high ankle sprain, which is the actual reason he 'unraveled' to the extent that he did.
  5. But see, this isn't true either. If you're going by rankings at the time, he beat #17 OSU and then #7 Missouri, or if you're going by end of season rankings he beat #10 OSU and then #18 Mizzou. That was the strongest two weeks his program ever had, but factually not as you described it. Also not true. We beat 2011 and 2012 MSU - 2011 wa ranked #9/#10 (at the time/end of season) and 2012 was unranked and finished unranked. Then we lost to them in 2013 and 2014 when they were ranked. After 7 years of results 2010 Mizzou and Okie State and 2011 Michigan State are the only three games he ever had where we played really good football against a really good team and won.
  6. This is essentially what Tolkien more or less believed. True fantasy takes place within the inner world of the mind, and film/stage performance can never rise to the occasion if for no other reason than the fact that you have things and people pretending (ie actors)
  7. the way y'all get so absolutely triggered by cyhawk is hilarious
  8. Legal drone piloting takes licenses and regulations you'd be surprised by - I'd be incredibly shocked if it was done in house.
  9. Probably "f#&% FOX News and to a lesser extent MSNBC" amongst many other things.
  10. Good news, nobody was arguing against this point!
  11. He's saying that there are more, and thus presumably more good, older songs than newer by virtue of the pool being bigger. If you define new music as the last 15 years, then the size of the catalogue of EVERYTHING OLDER is 50-60 total years of output compared to 15.
  12. We already had the strong beginnings of this (even though they fumbled it's implementation way back in 2012, then tried again a few years later) with Let Me Clear My Throat, then the AD did AD things and unnecessarily got rid of things because in their minds it reminded them of the failure of the previous staff. The players loved it, the fans loved it, the end of the 2015 MSU game and the 4th down stop in the 2016 Oregon game gave it some real legs to become something special and then it just disappeared.
  13. I think conceptually, I'd much rather have someone who wears sweatpants but takes their job seriously with integrity over someone who dresses the part on the way to grifting and obfuscating as a careerist sycophant.
  14. Honestly that wouldn't be fun for me if it was my team winning either. Sport is meant to be competition, and when there isn't any that makes for an unfulfilling time.
  15. one million times yes coach, make it happen. get ac/dc out of here
  16. So pretty close to what we had and what the majority of the party platform is willing to compromise on already?
  17. What's the moderate position between "its murder" and "it's not murder"?
  18. The conspiracy has now pivoted to his sweetheart misdemeanor deal
  19. Pretty lazy writing by the simulation authors having Boebert go through this, after her former husband was arrested and plead guilty to public indecency and lewd exposure for whipping his d!(k out in a bowling alley in front of her and others back in 2004.
  20. What kind of a communist uses this many ellipses... ?
  21. I don't envy the decisions upcoming for the staff, but I've got two cents. IF Haarberg gets the next start, or notable time in the next game or few games, be ready for his performance to come back closer to earth. He played his heart out and earned his praise for the week, but also had a handful of factors setting him up for success that won't always be there. One is the talent level of the competition, another is the offense being somewhat stripped down to make it manageable for him.
