  1. Not sure if this is valid, but I heard the list was 1. Riley 2. Navy's OC 3. Barry Alvarez 4. Bryant Gumbel Glad he went with Riley
  2. Wow that's nice. And then I'm thinking, "how in the world does a flying jet take a selfie?"
  3. GTFO with that ;-) Seriously - even if just 1 practice a month was open to fans I would be all over this. Where did you read this, I haven't come across it yet? LOL USA article. "At Oregon State, Riley's practices were open, and so was he." Does anybody know either of them so we could check to see if it is true? Sure. Here's the linky dinky... http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2014/12/04/nebraska-mike-riley-coach-oregon-state-analysis/19908547/
  4. I would be down for that. Big key though will be the DC. Can't play soft and allow teams to run crazy on us and score 40-70 points.
  5. Santa hat for my booze chugging woodchuck/squirrel if possible. He's in the holiday spirit. Dudeguyy needs more than a hat for that damn panda bear whacker lol
  6. Very warm and genuine of the new coach. Pretty cool. I thought I also read that at OSU the practices were open to fans. I can envision the fan excitement around spring and fall practices. Forget media notes, we'll need HB reps at each one!
  7. "Nebraska has been scrabbling with the Iowas and Minnesotas of the world, and getting blown out every time it plays Wisconsin." Great article. The more I learn about Mike Riley, the more I like. I'm hopeful he can bring us all together, hire top assistant coaches, and with the teaching & support of the entire staff - bring out the best in the players. I think if he can do that we will definitely be more competitive.
  8. That's pretty cool. A quick hello to the team. Not wasting any time. Tomorrow formal intro
  9. Not so much, but can probably thank the previous HC OTJ training experiment. Or at least point towards it which may have played a major roll in consideration.
  10. Do you think Oregon has more or less geographic disadvantages than Nebraska?Corvallis has so many more it's laughable. With the exception of proximity to the ocean, mountains, west coast talent, and playing in a better conference you are correct.LOLOk dude, they get outspent 50-1 by their closest competitor, have facilities that some Texas High schools laugh at, were 1-3 win team at most before him, and he still gets talent comparable to our last coach. How about you let the man at least have a press conference before you jettison the guy. So, money spent and facilities. How about the weather? Proximity to talent? The last i checked, Riley's recruiting consisted of mostly 2* and low 3* recruits, which isn't as good as our previous staff. The bright side is at least that level of recruiting can keep us competitive in our current division. So if he can beat top 10 teams with 2* and 3* talent imagine what he can do with better talent, facilities, and resourcesHopefully not lose to multiple FCS schools. But i thought that this was about playing championship football, not about becoming Iowa State. Edit: i tell you what, since he is so great. With the upgrade in talent, facilities, and a favorably weak schedule next year, anything less than an undefeated season and a trip to the playoffs next year should mean that he should be looking for a job. I'd love to place an over/under on how many more years under Pelini would've turned us into Iowa State, but thankfully, we'll never know how that bet would've played out. It's fun to make statements that can't be proven. I don't make many absolute statements, but when i do, they come true. 1) Callahan would be a failure at NU. check 2) Armstrong will not be better than Martinez. Check 3) if you fire another 9/10 win coach, you're not going to get a better one. Check 2 predictions, we will be more likely to have a losing season next year than we will to go undefeated, and this coach will never win a conference championship. Hope he proves me wrong Are you always in a pissy mood? It's like you read my mind. And many, many others.
  11. Thanks for the link. I think if Orgeron stepped onto campus, the Defense will hear a new voice with respect and energy....and work together to become the Blackshirts again.
  12. I'm onboard. Has my support. Hope he can put together a championship caliber staff. The football talent is mostly there already.
  13. Yeah me too. Ed Orgeron is liked and respected, a real good recruiter, and has that great sling blade voice
  14. Try PJ's. Big plaid and overalls bar. Tuesday night Keno and fried appetizer platter 1/2 off til 9. However, Foosball and shuffle board is big on Thursdays. Ladies eat for free on Missouri Night. Big, BIG plaid bar. You won't be disappointed. It's on Arapaho near Q street and Bovine. Tell 'em Big Chuck sent ya because everybody does. Bring a vomit bag to avoid the smell on Weekends. Lots of KState and Hawkeye fans show up. Just for the hometown atmosphere. You know...regulars.
  15. Who came up with bat.sock.signal? Was it Saunders? I know it was this morning. It's so perfect. Great, Great Job with that
  16. Hmm. I could see that happening. And welcome to HB
  17. Thanks for the article. I look forward to a new HC & staff coming in and a fresh start for the players. Because this program needs a reboot.
  18. LOL you were always good at taking a jab at the mods Thanks for stopping by TT. Good luck to your Tigers this week
  19. I dunno about the entire stadium Booing Frost. But there was some booing. I remember. It was shameful. Scott Frost is tenacious. You gotta give him that. Husker fans booed him. He turned it around and led us to a national championship. The experts said he'd never play a down in the NFL. He played for half a decade. Now they're saying he's too green to take on an FBS head coaching job. I don't think I'd bet against him... You are right NUance, he is determined to give his best towards the sport regardless of those football obstacles. He's handled it with dignity. I respect that about him. Always have.
  20. Thanks, that was my idea. You're welcome. Was a great idea. I'll come back to this and +1 you. Somehow I'm already out of them.
  21. Like SE, I think the mods were a few steps ahead by disabling rumorville during this time. With 34 pages in a couple days, this has become a one stop shop compared to 34 different threads like in 07. I give them credit.
  22. Nifty PR move is my guess. People have gone from wanting Tressel mania to full blown disappointment if it's not him. So anyone not named Tressel becomes less than desirable. Possibly a complete failure choice. Push out a false leak to mislead with a guy like BB, and you have the masses back in your corner ready to embrace anyone but him. Of course I'm just guessing and hoping.
