  1. their road uni's are pretty cool in a Penn State - Alabama classic kind of way
  2. Martinez is more explosive, faster and quicker. Crouch was def tougher and gave hits, plus had incredible speed. The thing about Taylor is that he does not have to do it all himself on every play. Roy and Rex both look terrific this year and are getting big chunks of yards. Plus McNeil, Kinnie, Paul can get first downs and spread the field.... But everything always starts up front with the O-Line.
  3. What browser are you using, and what screen resolution? Have you tried other browsers? IE 6.0... had to come to office today. I think you are on to something AR, so I will check firefox on my laptop at home this afternoon. But if its not my browser, you still are my Husker friend for life
  4. I dont want to participate in the hijacking - sorry Landlord... but each page I view - the background is sliding up and down a bit like it's bouncing. It happens every second or two. Not sure if it has something to do with the countdown clock? I really dont think its user error but if anyone else is experiencing this please let me know how to kill it /adjust settings/ blah blah blah & I will be your Husker friend for life! THANKS
  5. Snazzy new look fellas... cool cool

  6. i want to see gallons of gravy in this one because of the national viewers that can solidify nebraska's spot in the top 10 and maybe even top 5 soon. who knows Me too, I want a statement win in this one. Put the rest of the country on notice and especially the rest of the big 12 that the race in this league is for 2nd place!!! haha WIN WIN.. yall friggin convinced me... I am converted. Lets get gravy stupid!
  7. Not a fan in the offseason? Anyways...it is hilarious how bad ksu hates us. Jealousy makes people crazy. ha.. no bigger fan than I - as we all would hopefully say Red just doesnt look good on me without a white N on it. & my girlfriend has amazing red hair and doesnt do red either so its just all crazy
  8. Wonder what will happen in a few years if the new Big 12 gets flushed down the drain? Maybe the OU/NU game will be revisited a bit earlier (almost said sooner )
  9. Sweet. I think he plays better when he's a little pissed off. He'll get his chances the rest of the season, so lets see whats up.
  10. Winning in Manhattan doesnt have to be big or pretty as long as it happens. Then onto the next game. I'm guessing close game, 4-10 point win. Anything more is just gravy.
  11. Boy, that escalated quickly... Zac handled the situation like a man. Very cool..
  12. I never wear red. Only 12 saturdays a year for about 5 hours or so.
  13. Fumbling punt returns is a momentum changer. It can cost you a ballgame even. Despite some good open field running on punt returns, they should look for someone else to handle it. I like Niles. I think he is tough and can make some pretty good plays on offense. It just seems that he has to be heavily involved to get better during the game. And we dont throw it as often as we used to. I dont know, but I wont count him out just yet, specifically on offense. And I want him out there because he is damn capable of making plays. But returning punts? Its done. Has to change. One touchdown returned is not worth the breath I hold each kick so there is no fumble.. or misjudging the sidelines.. or if he just catch it or let it go over his head. All of it.

    Watson

"We executed, they stuffed us. We made adjustments and they worked out." You will never hear that from any coach. "We were inconsistent throwing the ball from the pocket with the timing plays, so we adjusted and had Taylor roll out which seemed to work better giving him some open space to operate and utilize his quickness". Wont hear that either. I'd like to, but I dont have a lot of praise for Watson. Keep him in the booth, put him on the sideline. Same result. Go west coast, spread, run it, throw it, use dual QBs, a running back committee, and eventually something will work for that day.... sometimes two games in a row. Then the brick wall. That's not an identity. That's a roll of the dice. Any adjustments that are made seem to bring the same results. So maybe the irritating truth is that the right adjustments are not identified during the course of a game and how to put it in action?

    Red River

OU. I care where Texas is ranked and what they do as much as they care about us...... NONE. We only need to worry about us and our season. UT has had the spotlight for so long, all that talent and only one championship with Brown in thirteen years. Let them leave Lincoln on a three game losing streak. They can work on salvaging their own season and hope to play in a bowl game against Alabama Birmingham in December.
  16. Good stuff to hear. I think Minett was a tough RB. He earned everything he got. Dude def can play Div 1. Someone said that if SDSU had a slightly better QB playing the game it would have been even closer, and I agree with that. I'm glad to hear Pelini is going to get to make some points to the team based off this past game. Sucks we didnt win by 70, but in the end it may have been a blessing in disguise.
  17. Each game will take on its own identity. The biggest questions are - how will the Huskers respond when they get behind during a game, and what adjustments will they make if the offense is stalling and not putting up points? Penalties and turnovers are all part of the game. So throw those out. This team is not mistake free. I think the Huskers are physically gifted and mentally tough enough to win each game on the schedule. The defensive line needs more QB pressure, and as an entire unit they need to improve their game against the run. The skill players and more experienced guys on offense need to take some pressure off a young QB by making some plays. This team is capable of doing this, no question. Will they run the table? Possibly. Doesnt matter if its close wins or not. I think one loss somewhere in there is just as likely as going undefeated, because there are no guarentees. So I am going to say, one game at a time, with whoever is next on the schedule, we will come out with the W.
  18. Not enough data to draw conclusions. However... Thursday night, road game, Big 12 opener, National TV audience, Huskers are ranked in top 10, and everybody associated with the Big 12 Conference will be tuned in to take notes... Those are not distractions to Pelini. Those are the extra driving forces. Most importantly, he was embarrassed (his words) from their performance and not executing. I'm a firm believer he will have his team fully ready.
  19. His momentum was stopped and the ball was tucked in. Thats where his progressed ended for the spot. He reached out after that. Then pushed back. Plus the replay angle you saw (we saw) was not directly over the goal line. But it was enough a view to make ppl question it. Have no idea when whistle was blown. Do you give him the touch because of second effort or do you call it dead from actual progress. Refs suck, but they do have tough calls to make and that prolly could have gone either way. I dont think the points would have changed the outcome of the game though.
  20. Good stuff EZ-E.. On defense we are seeing the effects of missing Suh inside and Dillard against the run. Even Compton and Fish mixed in there (depth and extra year of experience). This game was a wake up call & I'm not going to panic too much, but am glad we won. Run defense has been average all year. Running backs are finding holes freequently. They drag our "fast/light" back seven a few extra yards on a handful of carries each game, and thats enough for teams to extend drives. I'm pretty sure the Huskers will regroup and respond accordingly.
  21. Thought SDSU game planned us pretty well. They had two guys watch Taylor each play. Their front seven outmuscled our line. We just kept trying to run up the gut with read option and it didnt work. Couldnt get to the outside either. The so called "multiple" offense was not multiple. The pass plays were there but when we missed those we lost out on moving the chains. Could have had a field day throwing the ball, they gave us that. So when the passing doesnt work, and the running the read doesnt work, the pressure builds up and you get what you saw. Would have been nice to get Taylor rolling out on more pass plays from the same formations against that defense, allowing him to throw underneath, over the top or take off running. If we could have made SDSU account for the entire field, the middle would have eventually opened up. If not, you get your best player out in space where he thrives. He needed to hit a lot more passes & those timing throws they run are hit or miss, badly. BTW, there is no "holding back" from what we will run differently. Nothing just suddenly works from paper & practices to actual games from holding back stuff. That's just maddening thinking. That will bite you in the rear end with "Gee that didnt work.. ok what now?" results.
  22. Its a fact, Most of their fans will be wearing this button. So you should be okay.
  23. Come on man! ISU is not that bad! Had they made a few stops on Thomas they could have won that game. I dont think Baylor is that bad either. Its just that TCU really IS THAT GOOD at home (almost went to the game) Who do you like this weekend? Can you make me some Vega$ dollar$ for me? Its been a brutal year so far.. they keep taking mine b/c no one seems to do what you think they should do! I feel the upset Saturday happening too.
  24. Negative six. Plus it means we get to take him behind the woodshed
