  1. Any away game is gonna be a fight. I'll still go with @Okie State as being a test/trap game for us and the one I least like for us. We can win @KSU...stop their run and we win. I wish we had @A&M earlier because they look shaky right now but will be more consistent by the time we see them. For both Okie State and A&M we need pressure on the QB and we win...no pressure and we have close games. I think Okie State is the best of those 3...then again A&M almost beat them on the road and gave up way too many turnovers to even deserve to be close but they were up by 14 and just lost by 3 on last second FG.
  2. That was cool...nice job. Only heard the game on web audio so thanks for the highlights. I know TMart didn't have a good game but man that dude is fast! Now just hit those WR's. Loved the Dennard INT.
  3. TCU and Houston now seems more likely IMO...you make the one division all Texas and bump the OK schools to the north. Much like the permanent cross-over rivalry we will have in the Big 10, you can still have TX and OU play every year. BYU still is an option. Utah could not pass up the Pac 10 offer but if you really wanted to strike fast you could have done Utah and Boise State as the north replacements. I still have no idea why Boise jumped to the Mountain West? Does them no good as now Utah and BYU leave and TCU could end up out of there as well. So Boise is stuck playing a highly weak conference schedule once again. Boise should have gotten a future Big 12 offer...imagine if the new Big 12 said they were bringing in the #3 (Boise) and #5 (TCU) teams in the country...I admit that would have been a dig at Nebraska but I would give them credit for making the conference whole and strong.
  4. I voted for Alabama. That would be a great title match. Oregon also interests me to have our defense go against their high powered offense + the Scott Frost connection. Didn't pick OSU because we have plenty of future games with them.
  5. From Husker Journal: SEPTEMBER 17, 2010. MESSAGE BOARDS TODD PEAT JR, DT, 6-3, 300, 4.9, TEMPE (CORONA DEL SOL), ARIZONA “I cut it to eight schools Stanford, Arizona State, Arizona, Nebraska, Alabama, Miami, Oregon State and Wake Forest.” Peat said Stanford Maybe The Favorite “You know they (Stanford) are just a big opportunity for me. I get to play early there I really like the coaching staff. It’s definitely a program on the rise. Stanford’s 2011 class is shaping up to be one of the best in the country.” Peat said “I like the weather there (Palo Alto) it’s always nice Northern California is a real nice place. And Stanford has a pretty campus I like it a lt. I would say Stanford and Arizona State is recruiting me the hardest.” Peat said ASU Childhood Favorite “I grew up an Arizona State fan it’s a five minute drive from home. I have a lot of friends there now and I like the coaching staff.” Peat said “Arizona is recruiting me very hard they have a good communications program which I want to major in. I like Coach Kish he’s my recruiter I get along with him well. He tells me how I can fit into their program.” Peat said “I have a visit set up for Nebraska October 15. I like the program there, coaches, the tradition and they are really turning into a dominate team. Nebraska said I’m high on their board and I could be a great player there.” Peat said Looking At Southern Schools “I’ll probably make a trip to Alabama. I like Coach Nick Saban’s approach to the games. He’s a defensive guy that’s always a plus just a great program at Alabama with great tradition.” Peat said “I like Miami it’s a great academic school which is a huge thing for me. I like the tradition there and it’s a program that will be very tough the next few years.” Peat said “Miami coaches basically saying they are only taking one defensive tackle this year maybe two and I’m one who they offered. Miami is recruiting me as a 3 technique defensive tackle.” Peat said Peat Impressed With Beavers “Coach Mike Cavanaugh (Oregon State) is really a good guy he’s my recruiter. Coach Mike Riley has a huge amount of stability in the program which is always a plus.” Peat said “Oregon State is always a tough program PAC 10 program with a lot of wins. I’m just so impressed by what they do is develop players they ever do get the big recruits.” Peat said “Wake Forest is a great academic school there is a big opportunity to play early there. I’ve actually been to Wake Forest a year ago. I loved Wake Forest it was probably the prettiest campus I’ve ever seen. It’s a small school nice little school.” Peat said “I’ll take all my five visits commit on the Army game if that’s how it works out but I don’t totally have to do it there.” Peat said “I’m looking to play early looking for an academic school. Other than that I just want to get along with everyone.” Peat said
  6. Bo has got to get something to motivate the D-line. I don't think any sacks tonight. David getting lots of tackles because opposing RB's are getting through our line. Listened to the web audio today...not once did I hear Steinkuhler or Meredith...heard Crick and Allen sparingly. Let's go D-Line...next up is a national TV test and all I keep hearing is how the KSU RB is going to run all over you. Man up!!!
  7. Team ahead of us I don't think we'd have problem beating = TCU Teams that would be good match-up if we played them = LSU, OU, and Florida Sleeper team that can move ahead of us if they beat Oregon and USC next 2 weeks = Stanford Been watching a lot of teams. Everyone appears beatable this year...Bama, Oregon, OU, and yes so do we unfortunately. The team that can get it rolling and clicking on all cylinders will do very well. Stanford is a darkhorse as they seem solid in all aspects.
  8. This is the official meltdown thread. Only complaining and...oh wait you are complaining...carry on... :rollin
  9. Very uninspiring. The good news is that it looks like there is no flat out dominate few teams this year (i.e. Bama last year, Florida and USC in recent years). Anyone in Top 10 can still be standing at the end with the crystal ball this year. I have not seen any team be excellent in all facets of the game. So we need to sure up what we are doing and be in position to win it all! But I do worry about a lot of aspects of our game that do not seem to be very good right now...
  10. Uninspiring. Anyone in the Top 10 can win the whole thing...let's do it!!!

  11. Completely shocked UCLA handed Texas their arses. This win just bought Neuheisel more years at UCLA. UCLA had no business winning this game @Texas...they have no QB and have been consistently bad. SoCal radio was wondering how much longer Neuheisel had and was hoping UCLA would just not embarrass themselves and the Pac 10. Most thought they could maybe get to 4 wins at best for the season. Incredible win...so credit UCLA...you have to be ready to play every game! Texas looking ahead perhaps?
  12. Watched a lot of this game. TCU is not #4 in the country. They are about 6 - 8 places too high IMO...I'd rank them around #10 - #12.
  13. Speaking to a pretty good friend today (probably the most knowledgeable UCLA fan I know). He was offered free tickets to the Houston game but passed as there is not much excitement behind the team. He was really impressed with our defense and how we locked down Locker. Anytime I mentioned what was up with UCLA his feeling is their lack of a good QB is killing them (especially since they got Norm Chow the fan base thought top QB's would be coming). His feeling is it is uncertain with Neuheisel. My assessment was that this was the year for UCLA to capitalize in closing the gap on USC (because of all of USC's problems)...and he agreed they have not been able to do it. USC still domintates SoCal radio for college football while UCLA got drubbed in the media last week for laying an egg on national TV vs. Stanford.
  14. Is anyone else tired about hearing about the greatness of Iowa's O-Line? They just gave up 4 straight sacks to Arizona in crunch time. Buh-bye!
  15. Not too many negatives with a good win like today...but I quoted the post above because our defense does look like it is susceptible to the run and I would expect us to change things up vs. the likes of power running K-State. Suh is not there to clog the middle. David looked a bit lost today. I thought Meredith looked slow and not 100%. And Allen...he needs to step up his game. As for Green, I did not like the situation where we put in him...came out cold in a spot where we were backed deep into our own territory in a hostile, loud environment so I chew the coaches on that one as to what were you thinking and don't do that again! He was trying to fight for yards and I almost thought the whistle should have been blown but UW gets credit for continuing the play and ripping the ball out.
  16. 1. No NU turnovers 2. Unstoppable run game with Martinez, Burkhead, and Helu (3 headed monster) 3. 4 sacks and 2 picks on Locker 4. Stop UW run and no big UW gash plays 5. NU high % 3rd down conversion, UW low % 3rd down conversion Do these things and we should win handily.
  17. Under. over/under: 1.5 fumbles recovered by NU (ball is turned over from UW to NU, not NU recovering own fumble).
  18. This one is going to raise everything up quite a bit. I have watched Washington enough to know they are very capable of jumping out on us early. And if they get behind, they will not go away. Would not be surprised if we have to hold Locker down on a final drive to secure this victory. My prediction is we win 27-20 in the contest thread. Very formidable test...we have to win these types of games now and not lose them like we did last couple years vs. VA Tech.
  19. - 27 Wash - 20 Air - 182 Ground - 235 Expecting a tight one and for us to show we can play from behind. Tough place to play. Their offense is very streaky and we have to show we can take some big punches. Also expect tough test for our offense on the road.
  20. Never Forget. God bless America.
  21. I voted Mr. Roy Helu Jr. Too good not to get some serious yards this Saturday.
  22. Under McNeill 2.5 catches
  23. 1) At least 3 sacks 2) T-Magic showing everyone he can pass the ball effectively 3) Some catches from McNeill 4) Strong game from Helu 5) Strong, solid game from Pierre Allen
  24. And how would you know they're not? If we can go undefeated, we should get a shot at Boise. Until then, Boise deserves to be ranked ahead of us...I have no problem with that. Boise has been in some big games and has come out on top. We are getting close...like .01 second close! We have to beat Texas this year, no doubt. Our offense can't wake up until the fourth qtr against Mizzou. We need to put other tough opponents down instead of losing (see Va Tech last year). Can't lose to Iowa St. either Yes the AZ whipping and victory over Clemson have been good bowl wins, but we need a Big 12 championship this year! Until we do that, Boise has it on us in recent years so I get the original poster's comments. Boise had everything to lose tonight, but they still won so credit them.
