  1. Finally figured out why my dad made me watch this show...Archie Campbell resembled his youngest brother
  2. Make sense? I guess I just believe that there's so much luck and complexities involved with foosball..not to mention inconsistent referees..That the best team doesn't always win. How many times have you seen team A beat team B, and lose to team C, even after team B beat team C? Could you guarantee LSU would've beaten tOSU tonight? I have this turrible habit of wearing Husker gear to every sporting event I go to out here in Arizona ..One of my fondest memories was taking my young Son to a Rattlers Arena Football game and being shown to our seats by an old codger (retired Penn State fan) who after seeing my Husker shirt, began yelling at me about who would've won in '94 in a head to head...I think I even brought up the '82 game and the bad homer ref calls that allowed JoPa to go on to win his 1st MNC.. My son was so impressed that I refrained from throwing the old coot down the stadium steps, but rather offered to buy the old dude a beer afterwards... Life would be so boring without conflict.
  3. It might tie in with why the NFL almost never interests me unless Huskers are involved...Teams too often play each other more than once. It used to be in college ball at least, you had to leave everything on the field during your one and only chance at that team..Regular season games were ''win or die''...Until we finally beat Oklahoma in '79 and had to play them again in the Orange Bowl. My Cousin was redshirting that year but made the trip...He was so frustrated because we lost the OB even after outplaying them.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_Orange_Bowl Winning it on the field is a great catch phrase, but so much depends on who you draw...Rock University vs. Paper State vs. Scissors A&M. Arguing is fun...Especially around here...
  4. Lost my sense of directional schools..
  5. The offseason is already too long...we need moar bowls!!! I was against the playoff prior to it happening, fearing it would make for a less intense regular season..Turns out, the 4-team ''playoff'' has made the Bowl season mostly boring.. I was 10 when I saw our Huskers go into the Orange Bowl ranked 3rd or 4th and beat LSU to finish with our 1st MNC. So many times, we were in the hunt until the end, and there were still several bowl games that still had a chance to win their own MNC if the right teams ahead of them lost. It killed me a little inside when we couldn't play Mechicken in '97 and Penn State in '94, but it's still fun to argue with their fans over who would've won..Some of the best games are those that are never played.

  7. THIS... is why I usually never say ''Go Big Red'' out loud. (sawry)
  8. Anyone else see this after the SDSU/James Madison championship football game today? It had an interesting segment titled ''Big Red'' (the name of Johnny Rodgers' Grandfather's intimidating rooster that used to chase JR when he was 4). I'm guessing this is the next phase of ESPN's College Football 150 series. Looks like it'll be replayed tomorrow on ESPN at 2:00pm AZ time
  9. 62%...Although I thought we played Alabama when I started..1st season I started watching us play..This might have been the first televised game I ever watched. I guessed right on the size of one of our DLs, then changed it to a wrong answer...Was way off on JR's punt return total. I re-watched our '71 game of the century last month and was surprised to see 4 Nebraskans on the OU roster (Thought Bud Wilkinson misspoke when one of them made a tackle) ...2 from Omaha and 2 from McCook...Wonder if the two Bison were teammates of Jeff Kinney.. http://soonerstats.com/football/players/roster.cfm?seasonid=1971
  10. Obviously needs a long snapper that can toss the ball an extra 25 yards.
  11. The first condom was invented by far back in history, it's said that they used the intestines from a goat. Yet it was circa. 1800 when the british civilization refined this method by... First taking the intestines out of the goat.
  12. Jane and Arlene are outside their nursing home, having a drink and a smoke, when it starts to rain. Jane pulls out a condom, cuts off the end, puts it over her cigarette, and continues smoking. Arlene: What in the hell is that? Jane: A condom. This way my cigarette doesn't get wet. Arlene: Where did you get it? Jane: You can get them at any pharmacy. The next day, Arlene hobbles herself into the local pharmacy and announces to the pharmacist that she wants a box of condoms. The pharmacist, obviously embarrassed, looks at her kind of strangely (she is, after all, over 80 years of age), but very delicately asks what size, texture, brand of condom she prefers. 'Doesn't matter Sonny, as long as it fits on a Camel.'
  13. Disappointed in the bowls this season with so many of the top athletes not participating...How about paying the Seniors to play with some of that Bowl Money?

    1. Xmas32

      Xmas32

Could you point to any athletes that sat out this year?  I'm curious because I'm drawing a blank.  This year seemed like almost all the top studs played in their bowl games versus previous years.

Brandon Aiyuk, WR – Arizona State was the first one I noticed...My Son is in the band, so I made it a point to watch it several times.  Brandon was clutch this season and one of the few that stood out to me...65 receptions, 1,192 yards, 8 TDs, 12 games
Brandon Aiyuk Draft Stock: Round 4-7

  14. Sorry...Didn't want to start a new thread for this and didn't see anything in my quick search on this subject. Did we lose the status update portion of HB?
  15. ''Early enrollee'' occured to me before I hit Submit...Just trying to make myself laugh. I remember wanting to throw my Iranian Chemistry TA through the 7th floor window of Hamilton during the Hostage crisis after he made fun of me for requesting time off to attend my brother's funeral.
  16. William Nixon is majoring in Electrical Engineering? That was MY major Freshman year..
