  1. He might be an NFL caliber athlete but he's not an NFL caliber football player. With decent coaching he would've been. He was definitely on the right trajectory prior to this year. at least he got exposed as someone who cant adapt to a new defense before someone wasted a pick on him
  2. A lot of players are having a tough year. Seventeen returning starters, and we are 3-6. It is the coaching. Even Billy C. took the Raiders to the super bowl the first year after Gruden left. It takes major ineptness and ego to screw up like MR and staff have this year. where's nebraska's rich gannon?
  3. so 55-45 doesnt equal 10 to you?
  4. Stop making excuses. How can you compliment the team after we got BLOWN OUT by Purdue. How can you POSSIBLY compliment Fyfe after he single handedly lost us that game. You types of people are the reason we are in this mess because you SUPPORT this dumpster fire of a coaching staff. 10 point loss is now being blown out? Youre f'ing joking, right? It was 42-16 at one point. Losing by 10 to Purdue when you score 21 points in garbage time against a team running out the clock is a disgrace to bad teams. It is completely unacceptable to any football team that is trying to be relevant. How can you trail one of the worst offensive teams in football by 26 points? MR apologists should be writing speeches for politicians. What the f#*k are you reading? The guy I quoted asked when a 10 point loss is considered a blowout and I enlightened him we were down 3+ scores at one point. well he was agreeing with you. it is still the responsibility of the purdue defense to stop the nebraska offense no matter how much time is left. the fact of the matter is they lost by 10 points.
  5. A Qb, who hasn't practiced as much with the ones.... Not only did we not run, against the worst D in the conference, Langs abandoned his "go to" back in Newby for Cross. Again, no Jano. IMO, the best back on the team. Dude has no clue. None. Bye Felicia.. you might not have heard but newby was in street clothes for the 2nd half. they didnt say when he went out or that he was out before that. but hey, damn that langs for injuring his starting rb.

  7. Come on man. No one here is against the team. You seem to blame them and give the staff a pass. he hasnt given the staff a pass yet. he has just been arguing that people need to pull their heads out of their asses and realize not everything is the staff's fault.
  8. BFE, like an hr or two north of kearney.
  9. almost everyone will say these two positions were upgrades. wr maybe at worst is a wash but with what we have seen it is an upgrade. lb not sure how you could even say the two are remotely close. the play of that mash unit just screams that bray is better.
  10. they had to add sports, mens and womens, to join the summit league.
  11. you havent missed anything. we dont have an answer sunday yet.
  12. Has there been a change in eligibility I'm unaware of? my lord are you being dense. but hey whatever. the prior offense was 7 years in the making even though it was wats then beck.
  13. Mike Riley? i'd say banker at the rate he lets other posters take the win from him.
  14. thought hockey was gonna be cut until a big outside push for donations saved it. remember reading the move was to get into a D1 basketball conference. so wouldnt the one big sport actually be basketball? have also heard people talk about the move to cut football was done to appease people in lincoln and keep a second fbs school from competing with unl.
  15. We disagree. Playcalling was actually pretty strong IMO. There were some third and shorts we threw on that I would've like to see run, but tough for Langsdorf to make that call when his offensive line isn't able to pick up yards on the ground. Screen plays were great, probably could've run more. I haven't heard anyone complaining about the run plays being slow developing. Everyone here is saying the opposite. That we were running straight ahead and being too simple. I'd say it was about a 50/50 mix of simple plays and some more creative stuff. Can't get too creative and run a lot of misdirection when the defense is in the backfield, but we still tried once in awhile. We will just have to disagree about the playcalling. I'm fine with that. I'm coming down on the players today. I've watched the whole game now and some of it I've watch three times. These players will decide to bring it or they won't. That's on them and nobody else. they were slow developing and right up the middle. or so it appeared to be going up the middle because their line was in the backfield by the time the handoff occurred.
  16. That sounds like a very NU-Illinois thing to do... How is that? I'm not talking about passing on 3rd down. I'm talking about 4th down, when change of possession stops the clock anyway so a pass can actually use more time than a run. Scrambling around, holding the defense to buy more time, and throwing a pass long, high and out on 4th down with 10 seconds sounds very little like a little scrambling and trying to dink one to your back on 3rd down with a minute to go. so, if the ball doesnt cross the line of scrimmage and intentional grounding is a loss of down penalty, does msu get a play from the spot of the foul?
  17. Pitt and Tony Dorsett (and i only know that because it was listed with the pre-season #1 Nebraska and the MNC) i also could not tell you a single player from 76 Nebraska. I guess i dont have the desire or motivation to be a championship fan.
  18. hope it wasnt a thumb. you'd never be able to press the space bar correctly again.
  19. averages can be deceiving. one big gain or loss can skew it. i havent been paying attention but have teams been loading the box like they have in the past? has the threat of the pass actually improved the running game?
  20. dont they review all those calls to see if the player should be ejected? i dont see how anyone could miss him being blocked into the qb.
