  1. why does nebraska have to be relevant to cheer for them?
  2. these five straight pass plays include the missed PI against enunwa? because had he been able to extend the arm dennard was holding then we'd probably be calling beck a genius. enunwa had a half step and the ball was placed almost perfectly. it's little things like this that make beck look like he is forgetting what he is doing. if they are executed properly the offense looks like a well oiled machine. but more often than not there is a small breakdown, ie missed block, bad pass, dropped ball, causing the offense to sputter. if that pass is completed, he just opened up more space for AA to work with, and maybe now instead of 8 yards a pop he is getting 12 yards. i do agree that the offense lacks a true identity. but that may be more to the changing in all the personnel. eliminate a few of the injuries and we might have an idea of what beck is trying to do.
  3. Our defense is going to score 7 touchdowns? wut?
  4. since this guy doesnt have a thread, and not sure if he has or ever will have an offer, i am going to ask this here. would he be for depth? little confused by bringing in a juco. He's not a JUCO, he's a 2015 recruit. haha, guess i have taken to assuming everyone in kansas is a juco. back to just reading.
  5. Seriously? Since we lost to Minnesota and struggled against Wyoming, South Dakota State and a reeling Northwestern, I see no reason why we'd expect to beat Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Kansas State, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU or Iowa State. I'll give you Kansas. Otherwise my fingers would be crossed, just like every Big 10 game we play. We could beat any team on our best day and with a bit of luck, but I'm honestly not sure what Husker team you've been watching that gives you this kind of confidence. sometimes it is about putting the team you cheer for on a pedestal and not every other team.

  7. got the first down d figured out but now cant stop anything on second.
  8. isnt drake redshirting? why would leaving him at home be weird?
  9. According to those numbers, they must have been D-1 earlier, dropped, then came back. They have more wins >1970 than >1990. numbers are wrong then because they didnt start playing football at the ncaa level until 1970. then they were fcs from 1978-1996. and before 1968 they were a junior college.
  10. when was colorado ever a rival? just because they thought they were doesnt mean they were.
  11. so what exactly are you going on about? all i see is you trying to goad the osu fans into an argument that they arent having any part of. not a single one of them cares if the doc shows osu in a bad light or not. they just want to see the doc because it is about osu. then we have you stereotyping all osu fans as being like the ones you "know". yet when none of the ones that have posted in this thread were remotely like them you try to get them to respond the way only you think they should. oh, i guess my post should have a gif so <insert ghey ass gif here>
  12. Tommy Armstrong doesn't have to break long runs, that's not his game. Taylor Martinez has to because that's his game. All of it. No one is afraid of Martinez throwing the ball down field. Not Wyoming, not Minnesota, nobody. No one is really afraid our our dink and dunk game either, because we're not all that good at it, and they'd rather be playing closer to the line of scrimmage to stop Abdullah anyway. What defenses used to be afraid of is him taking it to the house from anywhere on the field. Now that's out of the picture, well. . . I don't really disagree with any of that. What frustrated me on Saturday was that Martinez looked like he could still break long runs (and he did). But it didn't appear that our coaches wanted him to, based on their play-calling. I don't get it. I agree however, that if Martinez isn't a threat to break long runs, no matter the reason - he shouldn't be playing. there was a play, in the third quarter, where TM was heading up field when all of a sudden he runs parallel to the line of scrimmage before throwing. he had all sorts of daylight. his pass turned a positive play into a negative play. his desire to run was nowhere to be found on that play. so how do you call a run for him if you dont know he is going to want to run?
  13. After improved performances against Illinois and Purdue then having a bi-week you'd think they'd have been motivated for the Minn game, but practices supposedly sucked and we all saw the game. Ya, I'm not sure what gets them going. So many jokes would fit here, I can't seem to pick one... it might explain the bad week of practice.
  14. Correct, of all the games State has played in route to 2 summit league titles and 2 NCAA tournament births, this was their super bowl... In an empty arena... To a team selected to finish last in the big ten.. Other than that, I agree, this means nothing. Fine, game of their lives was an overstatement, but there is no doubt that they were playing to win while I'm sure we were trying out many different things just to see how they looked. okay, nice way to try and rationalize something that didnt need rationalizing. it was a glorified practice which probably included more than just a "game" between the two teams. pretty sure they were also working on some things.
  15. his show cause ends dec of 2016. from wikipedia (yes i know it's not the best source) Jim Tressel – The former head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Tressel was forced to resign three months before the start of the 2011 season for lying to the NCAA about student athletes receiving tattoos and cash for signed memorabilia. According to the NCAA, he had four chances to tell the truth and failed to do so. For this, he was given a five-year show-cause penalty (until December 19, 2016). If he gets another head coaching job before then, he will have to sit out the first five games of the first regular season of his return, as well as any postseason games (including conference championship games and bowl games).[2]
  16. I agree with what I think is Accountability's point.......Armstrong and/or Kellogg are keeping the chains moving. That's not happening as we need it with Martinez in there. Why is that? I don't really know. I know when we've needed to put some points on the board, it hasn't happened with a Martinez led offense. We had a RB averaging 8.7 yards per carry. Yet called 30 passes (not including sacks and scrambles) and 24 runs. Is that Martinez's fault? could you subtract the run plays that martinez audibled into pass plays from the 30 passes and add them to the 24 runs? once you do that we'll discuss how it's martinez's fault. tia
  17. it's not okay to hire "inexperienced" coordinators but it is okay to hire a new head coach with no head coaching experience? the logic exuded by some astounds me.
  18. he also wasnt calling plays on saturday at cu.
  19. Followed by a quick, sharp decline by the offensive line. Oh, sweet irony. The line was better until Long was hurt. That just shows that Cotton didn't recruit enough depth to overcome one freaking injury. Cotton on the payroll in any way shape or form is a complete joke. i think your comment is even sweeter irony. not gonna explain to you why it is and i don't feel anyone else should either. you're gonna need to remove some blinders so you can move forward with this.
  20. am i missing something here? when did his choice of language become a vital part in the leaked tape? thought the part that would hinder recruiting would be the question of bo being fired because he offended the fans. color me confused. or is your post in reference to the fake twitter account?
  21. Gregg and your biggest concern with him being in wichita should be bill self.
  22. Reported. you shouldnt destroy his life like that. you dont know if he is calling him the duct tape man, masking tape man, or pelini tirade tape man. you should have sat on that report button for a couple days until all the facts came out. (and do i really need a sarcasm smiley?)
  23. sunrise is a good school to get an in with. they are working on bringing higher quality basketball players and from what i have seen their credits actually apply to getting into college. think this year's team will have 4-7 d-1 caliber players on it. (i might be mixing up last year's class and putting them with this year's team.)
