  1. Whatever Nike is paying you, it's way too much. You've definitely sold me that Nike has the more annoying spammers.
  2. So no reason then. And now for something far more pertinent:
  3. This might be the saddest, dumbest reach for evidence I've seen on this board. Please at least tell us you're a marketing or sales person for Nike, so that there's some reason for this.
  4. I think we're banking on Daniel Kaelin or another QB transfer next year, so the coaches are going to do whatever helps gives the best chance at games this year, which doesn't seem promising.
  5. I think it's likely a mix of things. The coaches might have known Sims wasn't as careful with the ball as they wanted, but he probably wasn't dropping snaps and throwing picks all the time in practice either. Then there's also the issue of if Sims is playing much better in practice than in games, do the backups potentially have the same issue. Purdy and Haarberg might be just as likely to commit similar turnovers as Sims if the coaches aren't seeing them be any better at turnovers than Sims in practice. At the end of the day, I think we just don't have any good options at QB, even if Thompson had stayed, and the coaches are doing the best they can until they can get more options at QB next season.
  6. Huskers 38 N Ill 13 Rush 325 Pass 105
  7. Shedeur Sanders is probably the best QB in college football. CU will go as far as he takes them. They are a legit top 25 team with him at QB, but they'll struggle to win if he gets hurt. Nebraska has improved noticeably on the defensive side of the ball. Sims is awful as a QB. The OL continues to suck, so we can't get a running game going consistently. I still think we're a 2 win team, but our defense might get us another win or two with some lucky bounces.
  8. The Breakthrough Institute has a history of questionable and misleading claims about climate change, so I'd take this academic whistleblower with a grain of salt: https://ethics.harvard.edu/blog/breakthrough-institutes-inconvenient-history-al-gore
  9. Hawaii was awesome for college football. First games startd at 7am when I was getting off duty and picked up a case of beer from the Exchange walking back to the barracks. And last games ended around 7pm, so we could then go out to the bars.
  10. I think they'll connect on some deep shots. But I've rewatched parts of the CU-TCU, and CU's QB stared down his receivers almost as much as Sims did against Minn. I think CU's QB is likely going to be extremely good, but his game against TCU wasn't quite as brilliant as I had thought upon first watching it.
  11. I'll take illogical conclusions for $1000, Alex.
  12. The refs announced it and asked the clock operator to set the clock to 17 seconds.
  13. Just finished watching the CU-TCU game. Congrats to CU and Coach Prime - they were ready to play and have some playmakers. QB Shedeur Sanders is extremely accurate, has a strong arm, and makes good decisions - he's the reason they won today. Travis Hunter is an absolute freak playing both ways and doing it at that high of a level. There are a few other skill players on CU's offense that look fast too. And their OL looked good, which I was really surprised at. I really like how CU came out and ran super uptempo offense right at the start since TCU didn't have any film on them - great idea. But their defense looked mediocre to awful other than Hunter. And their kick coverage was atrocious. They'll be very exciting to watch this year. Hopefully S. Sanders and Hunter don't get injured because they're in big trouble if either one goes down. And I wonder how long Hunter and keep playing both ways - it's going to take a toll over the course of a season. I don't think CU is nearly as good as a lot of posters in this thread, but it's still an amazing win against a top 20 team. I thought the NU-CU was a coin flip before this game with an edge to CU for home field, and I still think it'll be close but I'd give CU more of an edge having watched both teams play.
  14. I agree. The defender was playing the ball and not the receiver, so it was a good no call. My bigger beef with B1G refs is that Husker opponents rarely if ever get called for holding. That wasn't a deciding factor in this game since neither team got called for holding even though both were dragging defenders around.
  15. I was responding to a post that said we'd win easily if Sims isn't in there to throw 3 picks. Sims had 117 yards rushing (65% of our 181 yards rushing) and 114 passing, which was 78% of our 295 yards of total offense. I'm not arguing that 3 picks isn't bad but rather that there isn't an easy solution like just putting a backup QB in there.
  16. It's been 1 game. Brian Ferentz has been consistently bad OC over many years and different players. Satterfield may not be the answer at OC, but let's give it some time.
  17. If the same rule was applied to coaches transferring teams or schools transferring conferences, then at least it would be fair. Still stupid but fair.
  18. Go ahead and compare the "bank" being made by the players vs the athletic dept. Thinking that is at all even is what's laughable. Regardless, players should be allowed to transfer just as much as any other college student IMO. And letting an incredibly inept institution like the NCAA make these determinations is just the cherry on top of the stupidity.
  19. Rhule is the only one of them that played a conference opponent and the only one that played on the road.
