  1. Me too. I think 1.5% of what I say is well thought out, the rest is clogged with sayings from movies and TV shows.
  2. Has anybody else seen this? And anybody besides me excited to see if they can deliver on the promises? Supposed to launch later this year. stadia.com The basic idea is that you can play games from any screen as long as you have a screen and controller that can connect to the internet. The games run completely on the servers and only the screen is sent back. This allows for a bunch of new concepts like saving and sharing game state with others using only a weblink, instant play (no downloading the game), and integration with online services (like youtube for sharing game content). Also means the game players don't need to buy the console and aren't stuck where the console lives as you can switch from one screen to the next. The biggest downside that I can see is needing broadband internet service that can support the video download with minimal latency.
  3. It wouldn't bother me in most shows, but GoT spent 6 seasons with slowly moving around. When they suddenly break that rule, it takes me out of the immersive experience because it doesn't fit with the rest of the show.
  4. I understand not showing the gunman, but not discussing his manifesto? The reasons for his actions matter.
  5. Democrats controlled both halves of Congress for all of those measures.
  6. Beto's website is just merchandise, donations, and volunteering. There's not even a page for policy. I hope he doesn't run as one of these candidates that tries not to take a stand ala Hickenlooper.
  7. Biden will fade after the debates too. I think it'll be Sanders and Harris with Biden trailing by the time the primaries roll around.
  8. I'm losing my belief they're going to do this movie well. Hopefully they don't just use Captain Marvel as the mcguffin to solve the problem - it'd be a cheap cop-out.
  9. Hickenlooper is a decent governor in a slightly left-leaning state. But he's another one of these "let's cooperate with the Republicans" guys that has apparently been asleep for the last decade of national politics. And I think his attempts to not have to take a stance will undo him, like the Morning Joe clip where he keeps dancing around and refusing to call himself a capitalist.
  10. Why the confidence in O'Rourke? He ran a decent race against Cruz, but I don't see much policy substance to get behind.
  11. The framing of that poll is wrong from the start, as even MMT proponents don't think governments can spend without limit and that deficits don't matter. That poll shows that economists understand that misunderstandings about MMT aren't true. Here's a good article on MMT that addresses some of the misunderstandings: Does Modern Monetary Theory Have Any Scholarly Validity?
  12. We don't only have to choose between military or social spending - it's possible to do both. We may have to take a harder look at how much military spending we're doing plus take a look at the additional expenditures of the ongoing wars. Or we can raise government revenue to cover all the above.
  13. Nay - she should go non-retractable glass dome. Actually, to really help with flooding, she should go beyond the dome and build the entire sphere.
  14. From what I can gather, the big farm subsidy hits in the Trump budget is a reduction in crop insurance coverage from 62% to 48% of lost value.
  15. What about crop insurance? I'd think most of the small farms would fold in a bad weather year without crop insurance.
  16. While I generally agree with you, I think things like the local school board elections shouldn't require citizenship to vote.
  17. How many of Trump's base will he have to screw before they can see he's not interested in helping them? Farmers slam Trump 2020 budget plan that includes deep cuts to subsidies I'm not necessarily against reducing agriculture subsidies, but a lot of Trump's base is from rural areas and this is going to hurt them especially with the tariffs and trade war.
  18. I don't understand the logic here. Why will the GOP have to explain anything when the majority party isn't even bring impeachment article to the floor for discussion?
