  1. The secret is out: "South Carolina knows the key to slowing Nebraska's running game is to stop the run."

  2. He's got at least one more visit to take
  3. I can only address what I see. I wasn't here for that but so be it. It was pretty entertaining actually. There were locked threads, some moved to The Woodshed, and people banned. It was the internet version of all of my family's gatherings. When I found out we were playing South Carolina I was actually looking forward to some of those threads. Been a let down so far.
  4. Boo! I want to see 800 yards of offense from Baylor
  5. I guess I'd take Thorell over Blatchford . Talk about a weak position.
  6. He was back there a few times when teams were trying to kick away from AA but the fumble @ Michigan kind of ended that. Oh that's right. Had forgotten about that. He'd be a solid second guy back with AA. He's fumbled a few times on kickoff returns. I hope he's not returning kicks for us. I'd rather see Turner, Aa Green or BK back returning kicks with AA.
  7. I disagree and think we need one good WR from this class.
  8. for the whole next year? Why not? In the words of PeterGriffin: "The lesson here is that abusing alcohol has absolutely no negative consequences"
  9. Because Pelini's assistants seem to be on a faster track to becoming DC's and Head coaches. I don't recall anyone off Ferntz's staff moving up to bigger things. This I can agree with
  10. These could be possible reasons why he would make a lateral move. 1) Iowa's DC resigned. So leaving gives him a choice as to who he will work with. 2) Pelini is known as a great defensive coach. Chance to build knowledge. 3) Nebraska has a great rep. 4) Similar to 2. Taking more than 1 job is good for career growth. He is a guy that recruits Florida so that would be nice for the Huskers. That may be the thing we are all missing here. Sure we need to fill a defensive position but we also need someone who can bring in some players. Even if the hire isn't the most experienced as a coach, if he is a hot recruiter, that could get him the job. He hasn't exactly reeled in the recruits while at Iowa. Granted he's coached some very good DE's, I just don't get the hire.
  11. In what way would moving from DL coach at Iowa to the DC at Nebraska be a lateral move? Because JP would be DC and he would still be DL
  12. Why would he make a lateral move from Iowa to Nebraska?
  13. South Carolina played 2 of those teams. Those 2 teams put up 86 points on South Carolina... NU doesn't have half the passing attack UGA or Arky has.... True, but Nebraska is twice as good as any of those offenses South Carolina played in the SEC (save for Ark and Georgia). I get what you're saying and agree we'll be hard pressed to pass on them, but I don't think that will be our game plan.
  14. Inexperienced how? Most of the better coaches on our staff (JP, Beck, Garrison) started out with no experience when hired/promoted and the ones he did hire with experience (Cotton, Else) have not panned out that well.
  15. Todd Haley out as Chiefs coach. I hope this doesn't mean the rumors of Josh McDaniels coming here are true

Seeing Kirk Ferentz' name tossed about. Makes zero sense to me, but he's friends with Chief's brass.
