  1. CHRIS WILLIAMS. BRING BACK THE BLACKSHIRTS! STAY COMMITTED TO NEBRASKA!
  2. no one is glorifying the win against iowa state... we're just glad that we TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS and won by 28 points, despite a few of the mistakes we made.
  3. sticking with my preseason prediction of 8-4, and it's held true so far. with losses to va tech, mizzou, t tech, and oklahoma. we beat kansas at home...and end up in san antoinio to play the MinneSNOWta golden gophers in the alamo bowl
  4. I wasn't aware Florida State had moved to the Big Ten. i meant in the polls, for the USA Today and The AP poll. that's who we are playing in the alamo bowl
  5. we will be playing the #25 team in the alamo bowl
  6. I agree with everything u just said... except instead of Iowa, we will playing Minnesota in the Alamo Bowl.
  7. needs to be involved more on offense. he's our most physical receiver, and he's the best in open space. but yes, he's a HUUUUUGE spark plug for us with his returns. he has such great vision. keep up the good work niles.
  8. agree 100% with you. i havent been this proud of the huskers since 2001 when we beat oklahoma.
  9. wasnt there an emphasis to LOSE weight this offseason?
  10. Exactly. Having a good running game Saturday will definitely slow their D down and lock their LB's up which should hopefully open up the passing game...hopefully especially if the running game isn't successful in the beginning of the game, we just absolutely CAN NOT abandon the run (a la USC 2007). We have to keep the Hokies honest, which opens up our play action passes. If we abandon the run and Watson figures that Ganz can pick apart the Hokies D, we are in trouble. Too much speed and great athletes in their secondary, especially with a great pass rush that they possess. I expect the Huskers to get a W come Saturday, but it's nowhere near a gurantee like some on this board are saying it is. A lot has to go right for us in order to win.
  11. Evidently they didn't quite look at the stats breakdown for each game. Hope we live up to that prediction. i like your thinking zoogies
  12. the writer of this article just looked at our overall statistics for our running game...and with 300+ in our last game, that average yards per game is a huge outlier compared to our little over 100 against western michigan and our 99 yards vs San Jose State. We need the running game to work vs Va Tech. We can not allow Bud Foster's D to pin their ears back and come after Ganz at the mercy of their will.
  13. front 4 needs to play great, we need to be able to pressure Glennon and/or Taylor (ankle) without blitzing. Our run D has looked great so far this season, and I expect the same type of output on saturday. Larry Asante CAN NOT MISS TACKLES, or else my boy Ricky Thenarse will take his spot. 31-20 'Skers
  14. Favors Arizona, with Nebraska and Kansas in his top 3. Says that he will visit Nebraska with teammate Joshua Brown, possibly after the season. We're trying to get him up for the Va Tech game
  15. especially with our recent running game....or lack there of
  16. I'm really starting to like our chances with this kid after every day! Get him N!
  17. anyone have any idea when that will be?
  18. How serious is Ricky Thenarse's injury? How long will it be until Ricky picks up the defensive system? I'd love to see Ricky out there instead of Larry. Major needs to start instead of Asante
  19. rather have a defense that finishes the game strong (today)....rather than a defense that starts fast and finishes poorly (last week) I'm talking about in the near future, so don't give me that 100% percent of the game crap
  20. why rush into burning a redshirt when we have other capable players at the same position? wouldn't you want Niles Paul to be a 2nd year freshman instead of a Soph?
  21. That's a big NO!!! Well, we dont' know, would we? Marlon Lucky scored on a very nice 14-yard run last week. Everyone is knocking him for dancing around in the backfield. But isn't that partly what a back is supposed to do - be patient and let the holes develop? We struggle and suddenly everyone is clamoring for the entire 2nd team. Is Helu as consistent a pass blocker as Lucky? Does he have good hands, or will everyone soon realize all he does is run? Does he have the top-end speed to be a gamebreaker when he gets the chance? 1.) No, we don't know about his pass blocking 2.) Marlon isn't being used AT ALL in the passing game thus far, so this question really makes no point, if they're not using Marlon in the passing game like they did last year. 3.) Yes, Helu seems to be just as fast, probably faster in the open field than Marlon.
  22. so can we all agree that Roy Helu has emerged as the top back?
  23. i know, i know......but hey, these kids can play better, some of the mistakes can be corrected, i don't think they play this poorly all year long......hope not. i agree 100% with you. yes, we played terrible today...but Bo and the coaching staff made big strides defensively from the first to second game. the biggest plus that came from this game was Joe Ganz's performance. He's always seemed to be a little too cocky for me, and this game will definatly humble him. I expect a big game from him next week
