  1. Highly doubt he was "rushed back". Guys come back pretty fast from those knee injuries anymore. I do feel badly for Kody though. This will likely put him behind Green for the rest of his career. Green will be the clear backup in 2010 and be in the drivers seat for the starting job in 2011 now.
  2. Good point. I'm in no place to judge the coaches effort in recruiting. That said, by February 6, we should expect to top the Big 12 North (at the least) in the recruiting rankings. If not, it doesn't matter how hard they're working, they're not getting the job done and changes will need to be made.
  3. You may want to check this out: Help for Impossible Delusions
  4. Lists like this are pretty pointless. How can you legitimately compare coaches from different sports as to who was "greater"? That said, Joe Paterno is waaaaaaaaay too high.
  5. Even with that being said, I felt Suh might walk out of here beinght ebest DT to ever wear the uniform. You don't just walk in as a Defensive lineman and lead your team in tackles, sacks, defensive touchdowns, and tackles for a loss and suck Once upon a time, I thought Jared Tomich was the best DE to ever strap it up for the Huskers until he came back for his senior year. His sr. year was filled with double teams, and he just never got the stats. Last year, Suh had Steinkuhler to take the heat away from a lot of the doubles. I guess it's a wait and see time how he does statistically this year. I have to admit that for the first 3 games of the season last year I'd have been willing to give him to any other team out there due to his emotional outbursts. Yet, he reeled it in and have a very impressive season. It will be interesting to see how he follows it up this year. Great point. I wouldn't be surprised if Suh has a statistically unimpressive season. Teams will game plan to stop him; he'll constantly face double and triple teams. If the LBs can step up though, they will have the chance to make a ton of big plays, especially with the way Bo and Carl like to blitz.
  6. Interesting that when asked if Zac Lee was ready to be the starter, Wats didn't really give a direct answer; he just talked about how much Lee has "improved". Maybe it's meaningless, but I would have preferred to hear: "Absolutely he's ready. He's next in line of great Husker QBs". I guess we'll just have to wait til the fall...
  7. Definitely. If a kid with this kind of athletic ability wants to join your team you don't turn him away.
  8. Disappointing but not surprising. Once we start winning we'll see the individual Huskers get more recognition. It's still a work in progress.
  9. I'm pretty confident that Nebraska, Mizzou, Kansas and Colorado will be the top four teams, but predicting the order is pretty difficult. Here goes... 1. KU - when in doubt, go with the team with the best QB (at least that we know so far) 2. NU - D should be best in the North 3. MU - if Gabbert is the real deal the Tigers could easily win the North again. 4. CU - will be better than last year but will lose several close games with costly mistakes 5,6. ISU, KSU - these teams may only get 1 B12 win between them: whoever wins when they play each other
  10. In addition to how improbable it is for a defensive player to win the Heisman (not to mention a DT), Suh could have a difficult time putting up eye-popping numbers this fall. Not saying he won't be dominant, but he'll be facing double and sometimes triple-teams all year long. He'll be the MVP of the Blackshirts (maybe even the team MVP), but the stats may not reflect it.
  11. Good question...I was wondering the same thing myself. Anyone know the track record of guys that take two years off football then try to play DI? The last one I remember was Ben Olson who went to UCLA after his mission and could never really get it going.
  12. Kid looks really solid...I'd love to see him become a Husker.
  13. 15-0. This team cannot mentally handle the challenges of D1 baseball. If they can't have some success this weekend, this thing could snowball and the Huskers may not make the B12 tournament. As far as Anderson's job goes, I don't think he's lost it yet...but if the terrible, uninspired play continues, I'm sure Dr. Tom will have some tough questions for him to answer.
  14. that is one scary looking dude.
  15. too bad...I thought we had a legitimate shot at him.
  16. He's a really solid looking player...probably end up as a high three-star. Hopefully we can keep him in state.
  17. This early, I think NU, CU, KU and MU are all pretty evenly matched. KU will lose to both Texas and OU, and they won't go undefeated vs. NU, CU and MU so they'll be out of contention. CU is at both Texas and Okie St, so they'll probably have to beat all the North teams to take the division. MU also plays both OSU and Texas. I think the schedule lines up best for us to take the North. CU will be interesting to watch though. They could be a completely different team with all the guys they have coming back from injuries this fall.
  18. No one thinks that Frank might want to come back and contribute to the institution he loves? He has a lot of respect for Bo. While the events that I mentioned would take a perfect storm to occur, if they did I don't find this as far fetched as you all seem to make it out to be. I think Frank would consider this, maybe TO would ask him as a stepping stone to AD. I bet in some strange way John Wayne Bobbitt still loves and has feelings for Lorena, but by the same token I bet there's not a snowballs chance in hades he'd take her back as his wife.
  19. No wonder the Blackshirts have such a great tradition; that's an impressive list. Tough to choose just one.
  20. Should be a hell of a game. Decent chance this could decide the Big 12 North.
  21. Just as long as he is not getting popped for DUI's!
  22. As of now, I see this game as a toss-up. There are just so many question marks for both teams. For the moment I'd give them the edge offensively and us the edge on defense. Being in Columbia is a huge advantage to Mizzou, as we'll both have inexperienced QBs. It will be key to keep Zach/Kody/Cody from getting rattled early, and also to keep Gabbert from finding a rhythm early. If it becomes a defensive battle, I like our chances. If we give up 4 touchdowns, I think we lose.
