  1. Sure, it wasn't in the the statement but I can picture that happening.
  2. for a kid who's not going to go to nebraska, it certainly looks like he's going to nebraska. again, he just might be coming up here to enjoy the ambiance that is lincoln so who knows?
  3. heard that too. ton of experience as an assistant and touted to be quite the recruiter. sound like a promising pick. and from what i gleaned from espn radio, it sounds like he's open to a move to nebraska.
  4. that's tommie's heisman. frazier is just too much of a gentleman to say otherwise.
  5. yah, we totally dodge a bullet when that dude from utah passed us up.
  6. years of experience. they've been busted a few times in the past and they know how to cover their tracks.
  7. dear lord no. i hate it when nebraska goes solid on colors. red top, white bottom at home; white top, red bottom on the road: that's the way it's meant to be.
  8. yah, that is a nice looking hoodie.
  9. it think bo has done a pretty good job on the JUCOs. Gomes was a *very* good get and barring injury LaVonte David is only going to get better. it sucks that nebraska only has one more year of eligibility out of him.
  10. Culpepper, vick, mcnabb, favre, alexander, faulk, polumalu, and young would all disagree Sorry for in correct spellings, was too lazy to look up how to actually spell some of these names Even if there was a Madden curse (which there isn't), Drew Brees broke it last season. suh's too awesome for the curse. if anything, it would backlash onto madden and he'd probably break a hip or something.
  11. this +1. never abandon texas or florida. they're just too rich in talent to ignore. Too rich in academic talent? if it's the question between a team of players who average close to 4.0 but goes 2-10 and a team that averages 3.5 with a conference championship and a BCS bid, i'll take the later any day of the week and twice on a sunday. i suspect most would share in that opinion. and if you don't, it must be because you hate seeing nebraska playing during the holidays. and to say that you *can't* find a good student athlete who can excel in both academics and athletics is flat-out wrong-headed and sells these kids short.

  13. +1 so, losing state has to take claim carter lake for one year?
  14. Saw BleacherReport, threw computer out window. oh yeah? well i saw BleacherReport, built a time machine, traveled back to the day where Al Gore invented the internet and punched him in the nuts. unfortunately, i doing so i inadvertently caused a cascade of paradoxes that ripped space-time, destroyed the multi-verse and doomed our reality to implode sometime around May in 2012. but it was totally worth it tho cause i *hate* BleacherReports.
  15. if that was an option, huskernation would have dug up devaney *YEARS* ago.
  16. as opposed to some OTHER teams we can mention...
  17. i hope beck is better at calling plays than he is at song writing...
  18. his coaching will be hampered by his one phone call allowed per week, but he's a trooper and will figure out a way around it. as for frost, well... we'll all be working for him eventually.
  19. doesn't this forum have a strict no panhandling policy?
  20. ladies and gentlemen, my new sig line.
  21. i shall not shed a tear for barney being moved out of coaching the line. nothing personal about coach cotton, but i just don't think he's gotten the most out of the offensive line regardless of injuries. and with that, i will make a B O L D prediction: if barney does get the ax as line coach he will end up with another position within the university but not as a coach. whether that means being a special assistant to the athletic director or chief executive restroom attendant at memorial stadium, barney will stay at nebraska.

  23. the story goes that when archie manning talked to both his boys about college, he told them both to NOT make their decisions based on their relationships with their recruiting assistant coaches. assistants come and go for various reasons, he explained (EXCEPTION: nebraska circa 1981 to 1997 ). he told them that it was more important to choose a school where they could see themselves enjoying their college experience. if jackson is that upset that sanders is gone, then i'm not going to hold it against him for leaving. however basing his decision around ONE assistant coach was probably a mistake on his part. of course, it's the decision of a seventeen- eighteen-year-old high school student so i'm thinking the world should grant a mulligan to him in this case.
