  1. Holy sh#t. Fire Bo? Seriously? My god man, calm down. Tommy went back in because he is the leader of this offense. Plain and simple. The onside kick was also the better option at that time with no timeouts left. It had nothing to do with how the defense had played our anything like that.
  2. No, nobody noticed that because it didn't happen. He might be referring to ESPN's Football Power Rankings where they went up 5 spots. They went up 2 spots in the AP and 3 in the Coaches. Attention trouble: Please throw any weight you thought those lame idiotic Power rankings had. That's an ESPN-centric ranking, and just like their stupid Football Power Index, is totally subjective. They have free reign to assign whatever number to whatever team they please. It is totally biased though... they're not in the business of being objective. They're protecting their brand strictly for cash and ratings, and their brand is the SEC. I actually didn't realize that was the power rankings. I was reading an article on my phone this morning...before my coffee apparently.
  3. Anybody else notice LSU jumped five spots after a win against nmsu? I mean, really? Holy craps do I not get pollsters.
  4. I thought the uniforms were awesome personally. Certainly the best alternates we have had.
  5. Not sure why this is here, but elite speed and athleticism with good size and extreme toughness is a pretty good start for any position. Throw in his ability to score with the ball in his hands and he will intrigue some teams. There is a long history of teams figuring out ways to utilize athletes at new positions in the NFL. Pretty much. I mean Denard Robinson got drafted.
  6. Whats funny is that some of the fans believe they deserve to know things or be given reasons for certain actions. We are fans of the team, that does not make us privy to the inner workings or decision makings of the program. The kid violated team rules, that is a good enough reason for me. Bo runs a tight ship and if you don't follow the rules then you are out. Nobody should have any problem with that. I want the team to succeed and win as well, but not at the cost of integrity and education.
  7. He has had some pretty stellar secondaries in his career there. Has had top 20 passing defense multiple years there(#2 in 2010, # 6 in 2011, etc.) Not a bad hire I don't think, Has a bunch of recruiting ties to GA as well.
  8. Uh...wut? Really? No smiling? Hey kid, stop smiling! Football isn't supposed to be fun!
  9. Only, and I mean only if he is absolutely completely 100% unhindered and healthy. If he is not and he starts, we will get our a$$ handed to us on a silver platter.
  10. This is my current fav: Aren't those great pics that we want to represent NU football Yeah because no other coaches have gone off on the football field before. Bo is passionate, along with many other coaches that don't enjoy seeing their teams get screwed on the field. I'd much rather see Bo go after a stupid call then sit back and take it with no emotions. Bo is our coach, support him and stop trying to run him out of town. I'm unsure if Pelini is going to coach us to a title or not but since he is our coach I will support him and the players until the administration let him go. They showed a ton of heart and the improvement on the defensive side of the ball was huge. All some of you want to do is find every single flaw in Pelini and his teams. It's borederline pathetic.

Might as well just forfeit and not play the game guys. It's already been decided, we are going to lose out. Blasphemy, even before the NW win I still thought we could win out as all the teams on the schedule are very mediocre(Even MSU, great defense, not so much of an offense). Our defense finally showed some life signs against a team with a heartbeat and should give fans hope that they may have turned the corner. I don't know about you people, but I'm still going to be positive and beleive that these kids can do it.
  12. TMart is our best QB at 70%. No, he isn't... Armstrong adds another dimension to our offense (option) that we can't do with Taylor or Ron. Beck needs to call better plays to give him a better chance to be successful, and the OL needs to get the push to allow the execution to be there. There was absolutely NO reason for us to throw the ball 42 times in this game. If Beck wants the offense to be successful, he needs to challenge his OL to blow holes open. Armstrong should never attempt more than 20 passes in a game. STICK TO THE RUN!!! He adds option and subtracts zone read. TA has yet to actually make a good read, most are scripted for him. Martinez looked better against Minneosta, than either TA or RK3 looked against Northwestern. The difference in the games is a weak Dline for northwestern and improved play from the blackshirts. You are off your rocker with this I beleive. Taylor is detrimental to this offense when he is unhealthy. The zone read is completely 100% off the table when Talyor isnt healthy, just look at the games he has played while injured. The zone read is not called, or if it is then Taylor audibles out of it into a pass. I'm sorry but Ill take a 100% TA or RKIII over a <100% Taylor. If Taylor starts any games the rest of the year while he is not 100%, we will guarenteed lose that game. I'm a big fan of and have great respect for Taylor but he should only be the starter if completely 100% healthy.
  13. Because there is zero evidence that a hire with head coaching experience is better than a hire without. If you look at the current BCS Top 25, about exactly half of those coaches are first time head coaches. Oregon Stanford Baylor Clemson Oklahoma Texas A&M Texas Tech Just a few examples. For every coordinator turned head coach that failed you point out, I can point out another head coaching hire that was a head coach before and failed. Hell, this should be easy as pie to understand for Nebraska fans. Tom Osborne was never a head coach, but Bill Callahan was. (p.s. please don't strawman me responding that I'm trying to prove a point by cherrypicking certain instances. I'm not. I'm only countering false points.) You know the difference between all of those hires and Scott Frost? They all have had more than 8 games of coordinator experience. I'm sorry, but not only would he be a first time head coach but he hasnt even proven himself as an established coordinator yet. This Scott Frost bandwagon/train is asinine and needs to stop being brought up. I don't want Scott Frost anywhere near the head coaching job at Nebraska. If you want a first time head coach, how about they go after a proven big name guy, not some dude who has Nebraska ties who has taken an offense and continued to run it exactly like the guy before him.
  14. If he starts this week, I'll walk right out of the stadium, as I am not going to watch another clusterfk terribad offensive performance and get embarrased at home. Is this a joke? Don't let the door hit you on the way out. "f#*k THE FANS." Absolutely no joke. I have been a fan my entire life and have supported this coaching staff through everything, but if the coaches put in an injured Martinez to play when he is clearly not ready to lead this team as his injury severely limits his playmaking ability then I don't care to sit there through 60 minutes of total sh#t like I saw last week. I have ALWAYS been the kool aid drinker and optimistic sally compared to many fans I know but even I have a limit. I'm sorry, but if you think Martinez isn't detrimental to this offense while he is injured then you are off your damn rocker. While he is injured opposing teams do not need to worry about defending his running ability, and even as much as he has improved, he cannot beat teams with his arm alone. If the coaches aren't going to try and put this team in the best position to win by starting a QB who isnt 40% limited than I'm not going to pretend to sit there and support that decision. Don't get me wrong, the defense is a total dumpster fire, but the offense should be able to keep up with the scoring of Minnesota and every other team on our schedule! The offense should have put up 40+ last weekend, there is no damn excuse for it. Taylor is limited, and it's a total double standard that he continues to start even though he is completely ineffective while injured. We have two completely capable backups that we can switch between, if Taylor can't use his legs and be the running threat we all know he can be when healthy then SIT HIS ARSE ON THE BENCH. I appreciate everything the kid has done for Nebraska and I admire his heart and perseverence but enough is enough.
  15. It is odd, but you know, if our offense is going to look terribad and we are going to lose 4 more games, Id rather have it be with Armstrong for one reason. Experience. Keeping tmart in the rest of the year to lose 4 games is pointless. GIve TA the reigns and let him get invaluable experience for next year.
  16. He may have made it up simply to make a point. I was hoping that was the case. I dont follow much on twitter.
  17. Thats spot on. Also...Somebody seriously called one of our players a “COMMUNIST BITCHWEED f#*k ASS”?? My god...What is wrong with people.
  18. Ive supported Pelini through everything up until this post game presser. I'll still support him but he has to bench Martinez unless he is truly 100% healthy. If I see Martinez take one more snap for our offense when he isnt completely healthy, then personally my support is gone. We have seen time and again that an injured Martinez is completely detrimental to this offense. We have two more than capable backups. USE THEM. Not that my support really means anything to the coach but I'm sure there is a lot of people like me.
  19. If he starts this week, I'll walk right out of the stadium, as I am not going to watch another clusterfk terribad offensive performance and get embarrased at home. It really pains me to say that, but our offense is inept with an injured Martinez in the lineup and I can't stand to watch that anymore.
  20. The reason I am more down on the offense than the defense is the fact that i knew going in that the defense was going to have a lot of growing pains and issues, but we all thought the offense was going to just go off. You know, this last game, and the UCLA game, its not like they score 40 points and still go beat. The offense was TERRIBLE, and the blame lies on them moreso than the defense. I don't care who plays QB as long as they are healthy, and at this point thats TA or RKIII. Yes, TA looked like crap against Purdue, but I'd rather take that and have RKIII come in when he is struggling than to sit and watch our offense be completely inept under an injured Martinez.
  21. All I want for christmas is a new QB. Pleeeaaaasssseeeee Santa Pelini, can I get just that one thing?
  22. I feel the exact same way. I have always been pro-martinez, but with him being injured, he definitely needs to take a seat and hand the reigns over.
  23. The offensive gameplay and calls would have been completely different. Minnesota knew Martinez was hampered and wouldnt be able to take off liek he really can. There was no need to shadow Martinez or worry about his running. They sat back, played coverage and let thier front 4 guys go after Martinez. Martinez couldn't beat the coverage. RKII could have, and TA would have used his legs to make more plays. I couldnt count on my hands the number fo times Martinez could have ran and picked up 5 or 6 yards at least on broke passing plays. To say Martinez didnt hamper this offense in the least is ignorant as crap. And that's Martinez's fault how? This is what I'm saying. The problems resides over the quarterback position. Our playcalling should not change that drastically with a QB change. It shouldn't. Beck is setting Taylor up for failure. Taylor's best throws come on playaction, yet we don't run the ball to set that up. We have him sling it around, it's not going to work. And if you think that would've worked with TA I think you're the one that is mistaken. TA is no more mobile than a hurt Taylor. He has decent elusiveness, good pocket presence, but lets not act like once he gets out of the pocket he is going to house one. It's Martinez's fault purely becuase he said he was good enough to play therefore the coaches put him out there. TA is much more mobile than a hurt Martinez, he is much more elusive and can run out of the pocket and pick up 5 or 6 yards. Nobody ever said TA had the speed to take it to the house on any play like Martinez, but right now, Martinez doesnt have that speed either. There is absolutely NO REASON to put a hobbled Martinez out there on the field when we have capable backups. If you think a 65% Martinez is still the best option to start on this team currently then you better buckle up, it's going to be a very rough ride for the next 4 years.
