  1. You're far, far to overwhelmingly stupid to be a human being.
  2. It's getting high time we just throw the the wimpy 2-gap scheme in the toilet when playing mobile qbs. Unleash Caveman and whoever to get a damn pass rush or give up 50+ points & die. C'mon Bo.....
  3. Oh boy, that's the truth. We could have saved ourselves a lot of pain.......
  4. The Husker fans who think our main problem is our qb are the same ones that convince themselves every year they actually know something about cfb. They don't. They never will.
  5. Sorry, I have to disagree with statement. In 73 TO went 9-2-1 with a young class. (Humm was a JR.), again in 74, he was 9-3 and it wasn't until 75 with Ferragamo that he went 10-2, dropping his bowl game and falling to 9th in the polls. I am not saying that in Nebraska lore, these weren't good teams. I just don't think they were great teams. Pelini conversely, was handed a lot of talent. Had Cos never been hired, and Clownahan got a defensive genius, this would be a different story. Star-wise, sure Clownahan brought in talent in that aspect, but Cally knowing Lemming helped inflat recruiting rankings. Not too many of those players on the defensive side of the ball proved they were worth their weight in sh#t before Bo. My point. Imagine if Bo had been retained as D coordinator. Bowman, Bradley, Ruud, Shanle, Carriker and Suh. It was a crime to allow this kind a talent to slack on a field. Same could be said for WRs like Chris Brooks and the Marlon Lucky's of the world. To this point, Id take AA any day of the week over ML. I would too. The guy had hands of glue but was marginal at best running the ball.

It's amazing how that myth lives on forever, I'm just too lazy to look it up "again" but Clownahan's offensive stats were massively padded with endless garbage pts/yds where we racked up big stats while playing the opponent's waterboys (while down 3 or more TDs). Even a casual glance at his schedule & scores showed good to decent defenses stopping Clownahan's offense stone cold. He could tear apart SunBelt teams though. That's for sure.
  7. I remember when Tom canned Cally, he said "we haven't had a losing season in 40 years and now we've had two in the last four".
  8. I think Beck and Kaczenski (give him at least one more year) should be safe too IMO. D-line is our biggest problem. They are possibly worse than last year if that is even possible. If Eric Martin wasn't playing, it would be even uglier. I don't think Kaz could be considered safe. but like Zoogies said, there won't be any changes... Its pathetic that a coach two years removed from the high school ranks has been one of the best on our staff. Oh boy, that's for sure. Without Caveman we've got nothing.
  9. That's where we differ -- I really haven't seen much progress at all in recruiting during the 5 years Bo has been here. Still barely crack the Top 25 in recruiting each year, and many of the top recruits in the classes leave for one reason or another. Until we can consistently land Top 10 recruiting classes we will never return to prominence. BS. TO never had anything close to consistent top 10 recruiting classes but still cranked out 3 NCs with several other close misses (1982, 1983, 1993). It would be nice if everything was as simple as you claim.
  10. Bingo. Devaney was a great, great coach who knew full well how to ignore wild, ego-driven fans. There were droves of them demanding TO's head too. TO of course knows that too but now he's gone. Scary. Another Pedeyshine and Nebraska is Minnesota for decades.
  11. The season sucks because we're 1-1 in the big ten after losing on the road to a team 10 ranks higher than us and in the other division? Was hoping to see some perspective and the realization that we're not in a bad position Big 10 wise, except for a relatively tough schedule. Ohio State also beat MSU, making our job easier. We showed we have strength, talent, and can make big plays as well as big mistakes, but this was not a must win game nor were we favored. I suggest we come back down from the edge, stop acting like Iowa fans- who actually have something to really complain about, and just breathe into a paper bag for 2 weeks. I'm sorry you apparently missed the game and the press conference afterwards. In your conveniently coy Football-For-Dummies version of what actually happened last night, you forgot to mention that our quarterback 'improved' from bad to miserable, our defense was Cosgrovian in the non-hyperbole sense of the word, and afterwards our coach looked like a guy who just came out of the trenches in World War 1. Forget winning the division. There's no logical reason to think it will happen. Forget the title. That won't happen either. What did happen (or is happening, I should say), is Nebraska has been completely exposed. Every minor fault and crack many decided to ignore in favor of fantasies of a psychologically matured, disciplined football team split into canyons. We have massive systemic issues within the program and no amount of excuse-peddling or sunshine-pumping is going to alter that fact. It will continue to prove itself over. . .and over. . .and over. . .until the issue is addressed. It's Groundhog Day at Nebraska as long as self-delusion is the modus operandi. My feeling is, this staff as it stands is completely incapable of addressing its problems. Pelini is largely responsible for this. Now, finally, after last night, I think he's beginning the process of coming to terms with it. We're not on the ledge. We've fallen off it. Recognize it. Admit it. If you don't, I hope Bo does, else I fully believe we are sunk. You're sunk. Gone! I suggest you follow Alabama this year since they're the only team that won't lose a big game under pressure. Any of the other top 10 can and likely will. OSU is a better team, and Braxton Miller is a better QB. There was no way we were coming out of that stadium with a win unless those two factors didn't bother showing up. Since they did, our turnover problems only made a loss into an embarrassing one. Who the hell cares? I suggest you let go of your personal, posterior pain and sandy nether-region affliction and realize that we're 1-1 in our division, it's early, and the worst game is probably over. I'll admit that our program has its challenges but there is no reason to expect, even hope for out of spite, the same kind of result in any of our remaining games. This is borderline pathetic. Pelini was hired for the sole purpose of fixing the defense. In the fifth year of his tenure with eight seniors in the unit he had 60+ points hung on him by a completely mediocre team in a pitiful, laughably weak conference. On national TV. A national embarrassment--one in a string, by the way, long enough to wear them like a necklace. What's Jimmy's insight? Ladies and gentlemen, I kid you not: "Who the hell cares?" Not you, obviously. Fortunately you're completely beside the point. The question is about Bo. Not whether he cares, but how much. Does he care enough to look inside at his core and see the nepotism that has brought us to this point? Will anyone not named Taylor Martinez be given a legitimate shot to lead this team? Is he capable of examining his defensive scheme and realizing that it's failed? And more importantly than any of those three, if he does find his flaws, is he willing to look for help, and will be the money be there to bring in the people who are actually capable of helping him put this program back on the map? God I hope so. Gee, I could have sworn Ohio State was undefeated. If so, 6 - 0 is "mediocre"? Well then, pray tell just what the heck is a good team? How about a great team? So of course Braxton is "mediocre". Urban is "mediocre". Playing at the shoe is just another "pitiful & mediocre" game that should be won with the greatest of ease. U-huh.....gotcha. You then proceed to claim as fact that Tmart is the only player who has a legitimate chance of leading our team. Uhhh...why don't you relax and have a beer? It might help.
  12. accountability you're cracking me up on these threads...what direction are you talking about? how have we improved in the past 3 years? i'd love to know...please enlighten me. taylor martinez can throw the ball now...sometimes. we have faster receivers and a deeper depth at running back...but lets at the most important factor...wins and losses. Say what you want but at the end of the day...that's what you have to look at. Also, how many big games against top-rated teams have we won? How many BCS bowls have we been in? Wake up, Accountability...Nebraska Football is pretty mediocre right now and has been for too long. Yeah, it hurts badly.....I know. But we're a long, long ways away from 2004 & 2007. I think we're just gonna have to hang tough.
  13. That's a very good point. A tough, tough pill to swallow but it does give some desperately needed hope.
  14. Tmart blew chunks this game for sure. Pretty much like last year's Wisconsin game. Uuuuugh.... What hurts even more was our Oline & defense was probably just as bad. Oh boy......tough, tough game.
  15. I was mostly agreeing with what you were saying until you said this, then I threw up in my mouth. Really? Paul Johnson is a damn fine coach. No, he hasn't won any NCs but Navy & Georgia Tech are hardly powerful programs.
  16. Heh....as usual, the Oline looks good it's due only to Garrison/Stai. The Oline looks bad it's due only to Barney. Par.
  17. Yeah, you're probably right that we're reading too much into it. But oh boy......that game really stung me......ouch!
  18. Not to mention that we probably had the worst wrs performance in Div1 cfb his 1st two years. My goodness, they were dropping passes all over the place (and the year before that w/Z. Lee).
  19. I hear ya. I too don't get (at all) why most think the Buckeyes are unbeatable. I think there's no way they can stop our offense and Miller is really the only proven threat they have. We'll win the game.
  20. Ha! So, if our defense didn't pitch a shut-out for every game then the loss wasn't due to the offense. Makes sense to me. But spin it anyway you want, zoogies. However, the reality is that our 2009 offense was horrible beyond belief. That's all.
  21. no one is blaming the offense. all we are saying is that the offense could have won it for us. you know, like how in 2009 the defense won some games for us, or could have won it for us against va. tech. there are 0 similarities between this years offense and the 2009 offense. NONE. Nada. Zip. Zilch. 100% correct.
  22. What in the world is all this "extra help" & "shoring-up the Oline coaching" you're talking about zoogies? Barney's just finally getting what Uncle Milt always had......another coach for the FIVE positions he's responsible for. Btw, ever heard of a guy named Dan Young? And no zoogies, don't give me this BS about Stai. He's not even allowed to coach at the practices. You might as well say you or me is the big difference.
  23. Scary as hell. I usually ignore rumors but Perlman has always given me a heavy dose of the Heebie-Jeebies,
