  1. I'm thinking the situation was just Major going in and saying "I'm not happy with the opportunities i've been given" And then he gets the axe for saying so. If the reason for leaving doesn't tarnish the school or the player personally, why not state the real reason for leaving? I think Major is a big loss, he is a great athlete who never really found a position he fit in at. Hopefully he can get another opportunity somewhere else.
  2. Ralph is a free agent too, and the Cards don't appear to be re-signing him.
  3. I'm getting tired of Pelini not elaborating.
  4. He had some good games last year when Westbrook was out. So I'd say this is a good move. I'm excited he gets a chance to start!
  5. ..or decided not to re-sign him, however you want to look at it. Hopefully a team that needs a safety is willing to take a chance on him! http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=5604
  6. Rivals had Chris Johnson listed at 4.4 even, and 2 stars. Just another case of stars not meaning much. Guess he really blossomed at ECU!
  7. I'll agree that there are not many HS guys that can run a 4.4... Chris Johnson (Titans RB) ran a 4.24 at the combine last year, but he is an exception not the rule.
  8. I wonder if the beating players take in college football wears them down eventually and slows down their times.
  9. Gees, how much do people want from him?! Top 10 in every category? It is very rare that a player comes along that can do that. The bench is built for the short arm guys with big barrel chests. They can just bounce the weights off of it. I'd say he increased his stock by a great deal, and that's what the combine is all about.
  10. He dominated his first 2 opponents yesterday. Pinned them in 1:47 and 1:09. I don't care what position he plays, as long as he comes to Nebraska. He is a pure athlete.
  11. Not surprising, I think Ahman's playing days are over. He's had a pretty good career. Any chance he could get into coaching? http://omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1200&u_sid=10560985
  12. It is definitely a trap game. Baylor will be even better than last year. And we could be looking ahead to OU and the KU game, which will probably determine who wins the North. Moral of the story, don't overlook the bears!
  13. This was on Scout's ticker earlier, when did we think he was going to walk on? 11:13 a.m. Some drama in Texas. QB Broderick Thomas is a Houston commit, but apparently Nebraska thinks he is going to walk on. A coach at Madison HS said he is going to sign with UH.
  14. 2 of the 3 are California guys, let them sleep in a little bit
  15. Rex Burkhead is official. Wahoo
  16. Good luck to him. Hopefully he can get everything in order at IWCC and have a chance to make it at a D1
  17. Did anyone tell him that was the temp in October? Nevermind the temps in December and January! Welcome to Nebraska Eric, you'll be so jacked up for games you won't even realize it's cold out!
  18. People don't appreciate your condescending attitude. I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or what, but that is hard to convey typing over the internet, unless you use the sarcasm smiley. But your whole "i've known for months, I feel sorry for the rest of you" rubs people the wrong way.
  19. I'll second that. Hopefully one of the stud OL guys will be there at #3 or a good DL or LB. The QB crop in this years draft isn't very good! I'm fine with giving Thigpen a whole year to prove himself. He showed he is capable towards the end of last season. Or they can just sign Matt Cassel Come on Pioli, lets get this thing started on the right foot!!!
  20. Where is the all time RB poll, that should be a closer battle!! WR will be a landslide.
  21. Well if we view it from the standpoint of first time head coaches, Bo is #1! Since the other 2 have had gigs elsewhere.
  22. Great news, I hope he recovers well from his torn ACL
  23. Don't worry, the Chiefs won't take Daniel, at least not early on. And judging by the 2 for 9 performance he won't even get picked. Pioli is a good GM who likes to build teams from the inside out. I'm guessing they'll take OL, DL or an LB with the 3rd pick.
  24. I know I know... My friend is in Iowa and isn't much of a football fan (there are such people?) And I am in the wedding! Maybe I can find a stand in and they won't notice. I had my wedding before football season on purpose!! Can't everyone else do the same!?
  25. I think that is a very smart move to look at the quality of offensive linemen a school gets before deciding. How would you like to be in his shoes and learn the average for your line is 240 pounds.
