Let's just hope Green doesn't transfer.

Yea, we lost to ISU. Sux, but we lost. Let's take a look at the positives shall we..... Two years ago, we were saying the exact same thing about our defense. "If we could just stop......." We have the defense playing at a higher level. Thank god! I am not a fan of Shawn Watson. Just like one of the announcers said during the Missouri game. This offense looks like Colorado '03. Or something like that. I have to agree. I think the main problem with our offense is this. It requires precision at all levels to be effective. From O-line, qb, rb's and receivers. The margin for error is very small. I like to keep in simple. Run sets up the pass and by the 4th quarter, opposing defenses are finished. When an offensive lineman has to think too much, it's a recipe for disaster. Just line up and pound the football. We have those small town nebraska fullbacks just waiting to knock some linebacker out, but we haven't used them. I honestly think we have the players on offense to put up big numbers. I just think the system is not meant for the type of players we have. Heck, we may not have a game breaking type running back, but what is wrong with running back by committee?? Especially in November when it's cold. You can't be a pass happy team. Just ask the schools in the Big 10. So, I am happy with team so far. Albeit, frustrated as hell, but satisfied. I know we should have beaten some teams and just have one loss on our record. But that is football. We can't expect perfection week end and week out. The 90's were special. But we had some bumps along the way also. I remember people calling for TO's head when we couldn't beat the Florida schools in the bowl games. I have faith in Bo and TO to do what's right for the program. I just have to trust their judgement. Maybe we get rid of Watson, I don't know. But Watson needs to understand we need to establish the run before we start with those damn bubble screens. I know many of you were in meltdown mode. I was the worst of the bunch. But try and remain positive. The program needs us more now than ever. Heck, we win out, we win the North. ISU won't make it the rest of the way without a loss. GBR!!!!

I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with the loss. Just like everyone else. The defense held up. I was particularly upset with how the announcers were saying tech was "moving at will" against nebraska. Hmm...first drive, third and long. Pass break up, and the tech receiver came down with it. What are the percentages? Lateral ball, no one chased after, what are the percentages? Overall, Tech was going to score, we knew that, but I thought our offense would stick with them. The defense pretty much shut them down the second half. As for the offense. My god! Do we have a fullback? Does our o-line suck that bad that we can't run iso plays? I hate bubble screens and underneath passes. After it is all said and done. ball control wins games. We need to get back to smashmouth football and use the pass when we need it. Watson is a callahan clone. He is way too stubborn to change. Why do we run fade routes on the goaline? What is wrong with quick slants? Now when Green was in, I believe brooks ran a slant. I'm not sure. I was spitting venom at the time. Bottom line is this, I am proud of the way the defense played. And Bo has that side of the ball working. We need to spend some extra time beefing up the offense. in the spring and summer. Otherwise, we will be a mediocre team.

All Watson knows are underneath and bubble screens. Oh wait, "kill, kill, kill"<waving hands frantically>. It's a handoff. Predictable.

As a former letterwinner, and graduate. I am officially done. I appreciate all the effort bo has put into the team. I can't take anymore BS from our offense. it's a joke. Watson is a callahan carryover and needs to go. Along with Tim gilmore. I don't give a damn if what you think! I won't watch another game this year, won't buy another piece of nebraska clothing. Done. I have had enough. This is a damn shame. Pass, pass, pass and more pass. Watson, resign and have some dignity!!!

I strongly suggest you come to dallas the see Jerrah's Taj Mahal. The Damn thing is immaculate. Good grief. I've seen many stadiums, but this thing is way outta bounds. BTW, there is a husker game watching spot close to the airport. Tons of husker fans show up. Might be a good stop for you. Hmmmm...since I live 30 mins away from stadium. Huskerboard watch party?? I'm just sayin

It's disappointing, but we will be fine. Helu will have to carry the majority of the load....which he does. All we need is for someone to come in and spell him a series or two. If we can't find a back on our team that can carry the ball for a couple series, then we have bigger issues! I just get sick and tired of hearing about this tech offense. I would love for us to put up 60 on them. Wear them down and wear them out. Punch that damn Pirate (Leach) right on the chin. Put him to sleep. Living in Texas, I can put up with a lot. Tech fans is not one em. But I will say, I did run into Graham Harrell last year on the golf course. I was decked out in red, and he was with a friend of mine. I tried to talk crap about tech barely beating nebraska....he just smiled and said we had a good team. But, he did say he threw for so many yards he couldn't remember. That stung a little. He's all class. Good guy! Can't say that for the rest of the tech brethren.

I was smiling like a proud poppa when they showed lee smiling early in the game. I think it was after the option play. When was the last time we saw our boys having fun??? It's great to see that again. Seems like they are coming together. After all the blogs and stories, at the end of the day, it's a game. Your supposed to have fun. GBR!!!!!!

I think the qb draw was a bust on defense. Bo said at the half that they had a blitz called, and the guy didn't go. He also said something like, "if he goes on the blitz, we hit em in the backfield". So I think they called the right play on d, but had a bust. But I agree, play calling the first half was miserable. I about went to bed.

Someone tell me what happened with West. I didn't hear his name once. To be quite honest, I was so wrapped up watching the defensive line, I didn't notice anything else. Info please. Hand out the Blackshirts Bo!!!!

He is raising the bar. This team performed poorly on the defense the last 6 years. He has turned a piss poor defense into a damn good one. When you say "lack of fundamentals", that happens on every team whether it is saturday or sunday. That determines who wins and loses. The team that makes the least mistakes wins! I remember people flippin out over Mcbride's defenses. Called them slow and outdated. So don't give me that crap. Let this man coach this team!!!!

I used to have cable, and then I went to therapy. Cable couldn't come close to the channels with Directv. Plus, I need to watch nebraska football and cable couldn't git r done! I have Directv. I knew what I was getting. I just waited until the first big rain to see how it would react. Not bad. No outages. The only acrts up during severe storms. Otherwise, perfect! If you do go the satellite route. Be sure to request Directv themselves to install. The trucks that have directv on it. I am not trying to be funny, but the contractor I had, who originally set it up, screwed up big time. Took two months to get it fixed.

Heck, I've got a good feelling. No way is Columbia tougher than Blacksburg. Team grew up in that game. I am tired of Mizzou thinking they have something. They are calling us their "b#*ches". Ah, the class of some teams. Don't know how to act when they get a small taste of success. Prediction. NU 30, MU 14

Honestly, we can beat oklahoma. We have the schemes to do so. Do they have better athletes?? Of course they do. But that doesn't mean they can't get their asses handed to them. Give our boys some credit. V-tech has just as good of athletes as OU. And we let that one get away after shutting them down all day in their stadium. I honestly feel we can win out the rest of the year. It's not sipping kool-aid, I just feel confident. Our boys are playing well. GBR!!!!

Here's my two cents about the Sal situation. I was close to the program back then. CU....er....McCartney made the NU game a big deal. We couldn't have cared less. Problem is, you combine him "circling" the date of the NU game in red, daughter getting pregnant and all the hype with his team, you had some intense hatred going on between the two schools. I remember a friend of my wearing a colorado hat, which he drew an upside down cross on the front of it, with the statement..."I killed Sal". I told him if TO sees that, you might as well start running stadium steps now! It was ugly back then.

I agree with everything that is said. Were we going to be undefeated???? No. Are we making strides????? Yes. We could have beaten Vtech. We still have a lot to work on. But, I don't think we are going to get blown out anymore. We should Win the North. I think we have the talent level to do so. I really do. The National Championship talk is a little premature. But, every team will have a loss by the end of the year. Florida had one last year. I think LSU had two a couple years back. GBR!!!!!!!!!

UNFINISHED BUSINESS AMen. We all knew they wouldn't go undefeated. But to go into that environment and pretty much pull it off, I am very happy. Although I wanted a win, we are headed in the right direction. GBR!!!!!

So what are you saying? We need the VT win to improve our rankings to win a tiebreaker in the north to get to the conf CG? Cuz that's the only impact the VT game has on us getting to Dallas. Ok....I have read a lot of good feedback. Boards like this are great because you get a feel for what people are thinking. Realistically, this was the first game. It's like a pre-season game. I expected mistakes and yards given up, but the way we looked as compared to last year was much improved. Do we have ways to go?? Absolutely. But, I remember struggling against Maine, W. Michigan and was walking away scratching my head. You can NEVER compare any NU teams to the one's of the 90's. You just can't. Different level. I honestly feel this team has what it takes to beat VTech and OU. Period. We will only get better as the year goes on. Undefeated? Bit of a stretch. But why not?? I saw another thread questioning if we can beat Mizzou. I still struggle with the fact Mizzou is an issue. But I digress. Bottom line is this. Last year, we should have had 10 or 11 wins. The tech meltdown at the end and then letting Vtech slip away by the way of personal fouls. I feel we pick up one additional win and surprise some folks. OU is in serious trouble and we got them at home. VTech was counting on a National Title, those hopes are dashed. We don't play OSU (thank god) and Texas. This thing is set up perfectly for us. One more thing, I'm not basing this on a win against a weak FAU team. I see more than stats. I see a team with direction, effort and intensity. You concentrate on those fundamentals, the rest will take care of itself. I live 25 minutes from Arlington.....I'm buying tickets. Huskers will be in the Big 12 Championship!!!!!!!

I know I am getting way ahead of myself, but this game has become a little larger than expected. I still think we will beat them. However, we beat VTech and upset OU (they are hurting and I don't know how Bradford will recover), what are we looking at here???? My prediction...... Nebraska vs. OSU - Big 12 Championship in Dallas (Texas will fold....as usual) Again, if you put my thoughts together with .10, you can buy yourself a cup of coffee. Really amounts to nothing. But I want to be put on record.

I don't see why green should start. But I will tell you this, I feel much more comfortable with our QB's this year. I feel very confident that Green could help out if called upon. But DAMN! Lee throws a nice tight spiral. We tighten up just a little bit on defense, look out. I heard a stat the other nite. Someone please confirm. I think the announcers said we had 80 freshmen and sophmore's out of a 120 man roster. 14 Seniors....is thie correct?

Amen. The hurry up offense it was piled up the yards. Once we were set, it was a different story. Plus, it was the first game, so the boys are a little rusty. Wait until after Vtech to be surprised. I was actually surprised at how our corners were going after the ball.
