  1. Yeah, but Kansas State beat them two years in a row, and their team is far from being a contender. But I agree that this class, plus all the talented RS we have, gets me very excited about out future.
  2. I'm surprised there is not a picture of the water boy in there.lol
  3. I don't know, but I played soccer with his son when I was in grade school.
  4. But.... minus Ankrah, Byrd, Washington, Robinson and Norman --- each likely to fail to qualify --- and each among our top 10 recruits --- and we are #40-45. People are being lulled into a false sense of security. Academic casualties will decimate this class. Aren't you the one who said in another thread, that the types of recruits we are bringing is widding the gap between us and OU/TX? I think this class is great, and loaded with athletes from big time winning high school programs. Coach Bo will have other athletes he is going after to replace the ones he knows will not make it. With all of the quality RS next year and this class, I fell great about competing with OU/Tx and anyone in the country. Also, why would Bo offer all these guys who you say will not make it, when he stoped recruiting Josh Brown because of grades. That just does not make sense at all.
  5. I try not to follow stars, but the best teams year in and year out seem to have the top classes(5 and 4 star guys). As much as you say you dont want to follow it, it seems like it does make a difference most of the time. " We make our own stars" Coach Bo Pelini
  6. We aren't getting Heimuli. How do you know this?
  7. Do tell... I was just wondering if we have any 5 star guys out there we're still going after. I don't think so. I have a feeling the "silent commit" we're talking about is Ankrah. Maybe, he's rated at 4 s, but the description given in the forum here seems to offer up more negatives than positives. Barry Turner seemed to have more hype when he was a DE recruit. What about that Jarvis Giles guy? His espn evaluation mentioned alot of things he needs to work on, but what hs kid does'nt have alot to work on? His upside is huge, and he would be a great addition to this class.
  8. What in the hell are you talking about?
  9. Did either of those two QB's lead their team to the state title game, and kick a game winning field goal? I guess it shows you what kind of talent they have in Texas, if a guy like Cody Green is only honorable mention.
  10. This is the exact method that Wake Forest used to put that program on the map. RS your freshman, and have a more mature veteran football team. Then you are good enough to recruit more USC type early impact freshman. I really like what Coach Bo has done, and it will pay off bigtime.
  11. Yeah, I don't think Bo's game plan is to ever "let" any team score touchdowns, then "clamp down". That is just stupid.
  12. x2...Very hard to watch a team just pass the ball over and over again around the three point line. We need to try some pick and roll or something.
  13. This should go under former Huskers
  14. Like I have said before Suh reminds me of Steve Warren . Same build and athletic ability, although Suh may be a little faster.
  15. All D also wins you a lot of games...Look at Wisconsin. Bennett showed it works there, and then at Wash U, and now Bo Ryan is at UW winning Big Ten titles with all D no O. As much as I hate it, it wins games, so its hard to argue with. Well if we win, I guess I can't complain. Danny Nee's teams in the early 90's sure were fun to watch though. Doc just needs a go to guy, who can shoot and take it to the hole.
  16. I love Doc, but he is going to have a hard time bringing in the fans with that kind of ugly basketball. I did not watch it all, but it seems like all the offense does is pass the ball around the perimiter and shoot threes. All D and no O= boring.
  17. I would be. I love the way he made ajustments with the offense after a slow start, and ending up 9th in the country in total offense. Very balanced and fun to watch as well. And we have three brand new QB's competing for the job having learned Watsons offense, and we should be able to plug them into the system quickly.
  18. To me Suh reminds me of Steve Warren.
  19. Wow, what great faith you have in the Huskers. No chance to beat any ranked team huh? I seem to remember taking Texas Tech to overtime when we still playing pretty poorly. We could beat a whole bunch of ranked teams right now, with the way we are playing now. The only way back to the top is to play the best teams out there. padding our number of wins against lesser teams makes us like K-State. I wish we were playing G-Tech, because they are a much better team than Clemson or FSU.
  20. father, if you look at defensive stats to tell you who a lockdown corner is, then you are looking at how to judge CBs in a completely bad way. And if you don't hear a CBs name called in a game, that means he is not getting thrown at. Why would the CB not be getting thrown at? Maybe because he is covering his opponent well? Compare that to a guy like Anthony West or Eric Hagg who routinely get beat and get TV time way too much for the wrong reasons. Look over my posting record. I'll call a spade a spade when I see it. I even have called out 'The Godfather' himself on occasion when that is blasphemous in Nebraska football. I won't blow smoke about any player just to blow smoke. And yes, Kevin Young is POSSIBLY visiting Kansas this weekend. Not set in stone yet but that is the plan as of right now. Willie, I've watched every game this year and he has shown to be much improved and has had a solid year. I just disagree that he is a lockdown corner, and that isn't based solely on his stats, and I never said it was. If he's as good as you've said he should get serious consideration for all-conference accolades. I also call a spade a spade, something you have bashed me about in the past... remember? The point is, a lockdown corner he isn't. How about that Kevin Young? Did you guys hear he is committed to NU now?
  21. how is this comment anymore appropriate? How is it not approriate? A whole page of bs ramblings on some Huskers blowing coverages, instead of commenting on a thread about an excellent new Husker recruit. Anyway welcome kevin. You made the right choice, and you will be very proud when you recieve your Black Shirt.
  22. Oh, are we finally back on the topic of kevin Young after you guys derailed the thread with your childish arguing. The rest of us interested in recruiting thank you.
  23. I want to thank you for giving me the best lol so far today. You do know that Scott is like 5'5 with no muscle don't you. In his playing days jason was 6'5 280.
  24. I would take a QB named Blaine. No, not Blaine Gabbert, but their 2009 commit Blaine Dalton. He is a great athlete from here in Blue Springs, that led his team Blue springs South to the stste title as a sophmore, and to the title game this year. He grew up playing for a football team called the " Huskers". He had a 95 yard touchdown run against rival Blue Springs that was Eric Crouch like. I'm telling you guys, this kid has the "it factor, and is a much better QB than Gabbert. I have no idea why we never went after him. He is also a big time baseball player.
  25. I would. We need all the talent we can get.
