  1. overall disappointed. I have so much confidence in BO though. Remember last year? We actually LOST to Iowa State, and we still ended up with a descent season. Hopefully this is our "Iowa State" this year, and it'll be all improvement from here.
  2. These are my thoughts on the game, share yours too: - Nebraska is a national contender - if we want to fumble the ball, give it to good ol Cody Green - Rex Bulkhead is officially our #1 running back - Nebraska's defense still has LOTS of room for growth. inconsistent - Taylor Martinez is playing like a solid 4 year, championship QB, but needs to continue to mature - oddsmakers are idiots for thinking the number 8 team in the nation would only win by 3-5 points against an unranked team...whatever I made money - Nebraska fans are the best in the nation, thanks to all the big red fans who went to the game and represented the state. GBR
  3. So honestly I thought espn gave Nebraska more air time than typical for their generally sec sucking agenda
  4. I don't think pelini would take the job. He doesn't do this for the money...and he already has plenty of it. There is more love and passion for the game in college football and I think thats what he loves about his job.
  5. i hope gill does well against the rest of the big 12, and then gets humbled by NU every year...best of both worlds.
  6. you have to root for the big 12 in the NC game...even if it is texas.
  7. hehe...voted for yale and princeton based on this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Division...ll_Championship
  8. I heard suh is going to start his own team and draft himself.
  9. I think all this talk of going to the big 10 is just plain stupid. Why would we want to go to a conference that everyone hates? Our program is on the rise in the second best conference in the nation. When nebraska is back, we will be in THE best conference in the nation. All this just because some southern team bias?? Whatever. Big 12 is my favorite conference bar none. We won't leave, and we shouldn't leave.
  10. what a toolbag. Even if he re-commits to NU, I hope bo doesn't take him back. We don't need more people like him.
  11. crazy...im a boy and I love the huskers too. lets get married.
  12. Well if any braindead fan can really tell all that so easily, them I'm sure Pelini can too and he won't be around next year.
  13. Let me start by saying I'm not a Watson supporter or hater. . 1. Skills: There are 2 types of offensive attacks in football, run and pass. Right now a majority of our players were recruited for an NFL style pass offense with speed running. Not necessarily a bad choice (I would personally prefer power running), except for one problem. In a passing offense, your production is as good as your quarterback. Unfortunately recruiting the pewees hasn't panned out for us as well as we might have hoped in that position. Simple: We can't pass because our QB's aren't good enough. Green is too green, and Lee is always a few feet off every pass, making the receiver stop in his routes. It causes drops, annuls big plays, and becomes a significant interception threat. "Fine", Watson says, "we'll run the ball"; again, wrong personnel. Helu, as much as I love the guy, is not really a power runner. He's shifty, and does great any time he can get a descent block or gets into open space. Our O-Line does a *descent* job giving the QB time to pass (which we can't do), but doesn't appear to be strong enough to open up good lanes for Helu. Burkhead will probably be a descent power runner in the future, but again, but like Green is still just a freshman. 2. Callahan: I have a hard time believing that our offense in 06 & 07 (which was honestly pretty good), is a direct result of Callahan. I just can't give him that much credit. I remember complaining about some play calling back then too. However, the offense performed. With guys like Swift and descent (not great) quarterbacks we consistently had one of the best offenses in the nation. By saying Watson needs to go, you're giving Callahan a lot of credit. 3. Alternatives: What is SW supposed to do different? I hear so many people saying he should have run more misdirection last night, or thrown a pass play for a first down on our last possession. When he calls a pass play, it gets intercepted, when he runs the ball, we get stuffed against any legit defense. Trick plays? Really? Misdirection? The gamble may have paid off once, but if we can't even pull off a simple pass, do you really think he wants to risk trick plays? I agree, its his job as a OC to make sure the O works, and so yes the responsibility does fall to him, but given what he has to work with, I'm not sure I'm ready to call for his head yet. Pelini has a lot more at stake here than any of us do, I'm sure he'll make the right call. If he fires I'm I'll totally support it, but if he keeps him, I'm also not going to throw the team under the bus. My two cents.
  14. F that Agreed. I love the fact that he's has enough passion to fuel the entire team....the entire state...even through tough spots.
  15. I'm hoping people see the massive lack of an offense we have right now, and decide to come to NU because they know they have a chance to play right away.
  16. yeah i hope we win too...but...um....how's the weather out there in left field?
  17. I have long legs, knees should suffice. plus the drinking will help :-)
  18. I agree we need to win...although honestly if we do win, its gonna make the big 12 look bad and you're gonna get more juice coming out of the SEC's glory hole.
