  1. i was thinking there is a limit of calling one recruit a week until like may or something. but recruits can call coaches anytime, as long as the coaches are there but the coaches cannot call them back if they arent there. someone might be able to clear it up a little better than i can though.
  2. i agree suh showed many flashes of being great before last year and i think he has the potential to be a beast!
  3. first off, half of that is from sipples article. second, how many of those 10 players did you think were going to be NFL players before Pelini got here. keep in mind that i agree that being ranked 40 would be a major accomplishment, however i could easily see it as high as 20. i think we have talent and Pelini has probably learned even more since the last time he was here.
  4. well i live in ames and wear my husker stuff all of the time and i have never gotten anything free from it. whatadillyo?
  5. i actually thought that it was a pretty, ok idea. not so much the planting of the corn, but maybe a corn statue just to show some heritage. now, dont get me wrong i dont think i like it but i do think other people would like it. mostly farmers though.
  6. mcarney was from florida, so that helped a lot. in fact that is why he went to a florida school to coach, he had a house down there so it made the transition easy. its a lot easier to recruit there when you live there and most of the people on the roster are still his recruits.
  7. i think that it was definitely a coaching thing. we have plenty of talent, who is to say that with proper coaching our WRs cant be NFL quality and the same thing with the other positions. if i can predict what play we are going to run (from my couch), then i am sure pete carrol, stinkle, and mingino can predict the play much easier than even I can. if we arent so predictable next year, i could see us being one of the top offenses in the country. you have to realize that ganzes interceptions mostly came at times when we were down by 30 points (mostly because of the D) and he was trying to come back. if given an average defense he will hopefully not have to come back from 30 points down and in turn not throw half of those 9 interceptions.
  8. exactly what i was thinking, but heck he sounds like a good qb i know i would take him. get him in here add a couple or maybe a few pounds of muscle, none of that "fat stuff", and we got ourselves a nice sounding qb.
  9. im really not too happy about this guy, he is only 5'9" 155lbs and he just happens to be pelinis cousin. i like pelini a lot, but this is a bit of a stretch.
  10. hey man, i go to ISU and always sit in the student section with my NU gear on, most of them are cool about it just a few people have some fun with it but you just have to say look at the scoreboard baby! nah theyre cool down here i also hear the engineering program is great.
  11. i went to falls city high school and we were not allowed to graduate early, i was told, by school officials that you are not allowed to graduate early in nebraska. i do know some people that transfered to a missouri school with a few weeks left in school and they graduated early, but they also had waaaaay less graduation requirements.
  12. definitely disagree.......the xfl was a gimmick league at best, they were characters not athletes. seriously, HE HATE ME? the aafl should succeed if they properly promote it and if they actually get players from te surrounding colleges to play for each team. i know i would go watch eric crouch play! dont be negative about it before it even starts, because then if it is good you will have already had preconceived negative feelings about the league. just my opinion TO.
  13. A Power Shrug is exactly what he described.....good call! I was tryin to think of it and it was buggin me... Thank you guys, i was sitting here reading this and thinking,"am i the only person in Nebraska/Iowa to know what a hang snatch is?" good call guys.
  14. hey, i have seen a lot of husker fans, mostly grad students, inside of westcyde wings on game days. i go there a lot on gamedays as well, i love their wings!
  15. very true. i can see where you are coming from, we basically have no idea. i truly believe that we have the talent and it was mostly coaching issues and i think Bo will light that fire. we shall see, yes we shall.
  16. very good post and i can agree with everything you said.
  17. After the Oklahoma game you should ask how far behind is the Big 12 to other top ten teams? After all the team that handled Missery 2 times with ease just got run over by a better team. Do you think Sooner fans are hoping/praying Mike Stoops falls on his a$$ next year at Arizona so they can get him back? Venebles D got lit up like a Christmas tree last night. As much as I like Bob Stoops and think he's a great coach, I just don't understand why he has so much trouble in the bowl games. Have they even won a bowl game since the NC game in 2000? They had a month to prepare for the spread. Mizzou runs the spread. I realize Daniels isn't White, but is West Virginia this much better and faster than Mizzou? Slaton was on the sideline for the better part of the game. I was embarrassed even watching that disaster last night and I'm not a huge Sooner fan. some of you guys have to realize that, the sooner team you saw last night was missing 4 defensive starters (including all of their linebackers) and they were playing a team that would have been in the NC if they beat one team. if OU has their starters in, then the game would have likely been within 7 points. and i also believe that they were missing an offensive starter but im not sure. i also think that a healthy mizzou like the one we saw in the cotton bowl would have hung with WVU if not beaten them. what i am trying to say is that we are not as far behind as many of you are thinking (based off of the OU WVU game). Look at our talent level and then tell me we are way behind. You really cant say that without at least thinking in the back of your mind that you are wrong. can you?
  18. i honestly dont understand why anyone thinks that we are 3-4 years away from being a contender. as someone above mentioned we did play in the cotton bowl just a year ago. in my opinion, theoretically of course, if ganz had started all year long we would have won another game or two, texas inculded, even with the D playing as bad as it did. i really like that we have young LBs starting next year so that pelini can coach them up and teach them proper techniques, instead of getting the guys that were taught by by cosgrove and co. i honestly think we can at least compete next year and possibly win the north the year after, and i truly believe that i would feel the same way if i was not an NU fan. our O is fine and even if we average 40 points per game (not unrealistic) as long as the D gets to be ranked roughly 50 or better we will win most games. i understand that people dont want to be let down by a bad year, and that is fine, but honestly if you look at everything that could very potentially happen, we should be a decent team possibly 8-10 wins and i think it will be closer to 10, but probably 9.
  19. also he looks like a very solid player that i know i would love to have on the team.
  20. i heard that Crabtree screwed that up. Will said he never decommitted to the guys at Scout. His mom told the same thing to HI. i got this outa comptom before the coaching changes happened but i got nothing else. "Yo bro what up. I appreciate your email you sent. Honestly i dont know what i'm gonna do yet, it will however lower my chances of going there if the coaches get fired. But thats all i can give y"
