  1. If you are not friends with Kevin Thomas from KLIN on FB you need to be Lots of cool vids form todays game.

  2. Agree. The WSJ had a great article on the cupcakes going away. While I dont think that will completely happen, putting a tough team near the front is a great idea, if you lose it doesn't hurt you to much down the line, if you win, it could be the difference between being number 4 or 5.
  3. 2k was that each? If so those were some sweet seats. I'm like your dad, I had seats 3-4, many times we would get there and the people in the middle already had back rests to the end of the row, and that was without the people in 1 and 2 or 5 and 6, we were crushed in there so tightly, I was miserable. I took my donation cash and funneled it into a sweet TV and set up for my basement. I go to one or two games a year, I miss it but its not worth the hassle any more.
  4. The expansion took a lot of pressure off the waiting list. Over all "donation" levels dropped last year due to the extra seats. I think it will be a little harder to keep seats sold. Keeping them filled will not happen.
  5. Curious.....where are the examples of people rubbing his face in it or the sickness of which you speak? Is it here on HB or somewhere else? Can't say I've seen much of that type of thing around here. This. I live in Lincoln and the fact Carl has been here for 15 months and teaching at SCC all without a single hit in the paper, it sure sounds like people ARE leaving him alone. Once he does get hi name in the paper for applying for a public job he goes on to blame Nebraska people for.... Well I dont know.. Whatever demons he has I hope for his kids sake he get past it.
  6. tOSU is going to be unreal next year.

As long as complacency doesn't become a problem.

  7. Riley said that when he was first hired. It apparently hasn't happened yet. Interesting. Why is that so interesting? They both lead busy lives, and with the holidays it's even more hectic. Sounds like they are playing phone tag. It's been over a month. If you want to get in touch with someone, and they want you to be in touch with them.......well, you know........ I guess i fail to see the big deal. Osborne's gone. He hasnt been AD for over two years now. Why would our new coach have to "talk" with him. I just think there's way too much being led into this. Now if Riley wants to talk to Osborne and get to know him, great, but that can be done anytime, and that's if the feeling is even reciprocated. And if it isnt, well who cares. At some point we're gonna have to get over this notion that TO needs to be consulted everyime Eichorst wants to blow his nose or a coach wants to take a dump. Frankly, it's just not his program anymore. And until we come to that realization, this program will never get back over the hump. Our new coach doesn't have to.....neither does Osborne. That's the point. But to say a big deal hasn't been made out of the past is incorrect.....thus the e-mail Riley sent out to former players right after his hire. But yet he and Osborne haven't had a "chance" to speak in over a month? Ok....... I'd say it is lip service. People want to hear that he will reach out so he will accommodate them. In a couple of moths no one will care. The meeting may or may not happen, in the long run it doesn't matter.

Honor the past, move into the future.
  9. True, Christians pick and choose which parts of their religious teachings to follow. As does any follower of any religion. Its called being a hypocrite, its also called being human. EDIT: Or any person that lives under any kind of rule. We all choose what laws and rules we think should apply to us.
  10. Pass. I love the four-team format. 8 teams, how bad would Oregon have beat Mississippi State? Agree, also I dont want to diminish the bowl games. While #5 had a valid complaint this year, so would #9, as would 17 etc. Keep it at four, and make sure the SEC never wins again.
  11. I remember the Marlboro bucks.. My buddy from college won a trip to the ranch, I think it was in AZ or NM, back in '98 or '99. I think it was impressive as he switched from Camel Lights to Mar Reds until he quit. EDIT: It was Camel bucks, and Marlboro miles. They had a catalog you could order stuff from, the Camel one was more bar/lounge stuff, while Marlboro was country items, I think both had pool tables etc. Of course you needed their currency. I dont remember if Camel offered trips, but I know for sure about the Ranch Marlboro had, although you had to win that.
  12. What is a "Marlboro Chili Kettle"? I Googled it and found ref to Marlboro but not a specific kind of kettle EDIT: Either you posted the same thing at buckeyeplanet, or this is some really big coincidence. http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/threads/seeds-famous-chili-recipe.627095/page-3
  13. The Fiesta Bowl and next 8 hours in January of 1996 was easily the best 12 hours. HAHA Yeah that was pretty sweet....
  14. I am happy the SEC is out and that the B1G is the conference that got it done. I don't think this really helps any one but OSU. This win gives OSU street creed and should help thier recruiting. It obviously will show recruits you can be up north and win a championship. However, the best opportunity in the B1G will be in Columbus. Maybe the conference gets a couple more prime time slots next year. I agree. 'Im more on the line a rising tide lifts all boats, and if that means more prime time slots that helps all of us. I'm more concerned about tOSU and Michigan casting a huge shadow and hoovering up any and all recruits that even think about coming north.
  15. The only thing is we need to get out there and get it going. The B1G punched a huge ticket today, but tOSU is the real benefactor. Urb is just getting going, and with Michigan getting their splash in Harbaugh things are going to get tight for us. Recruit recruit recruit..
  16. Has this been the best 12 hours of football in history.. Unreal..
  17. WOW! Just wow... The B1G cant hang can they. SEC heads and shoulders above the rest... The gods of the SEC just got beat by a Big Ten THIRD STRING QB... HAHAHAHAHAHA SEC SEC SEC baby!

AND, our 59-0 runner up just beat their defending champ and NC contender without their head coach.

  19. Even when they are going slow, its fast..

  20. Gees.. That was an awesome uptempo series..

  21. I am in no way a brisket expert. Not at all . . . but this is what the site that I use the most says about the topic: http://amazingribs.com/recipes/beef/texas_brisket.html Everyone here probably already knows about amazingribs.com, though. Haha. I've read that before and tried it absolutely as close to how they describe it as possible and it still shreds when I try to cut it. They claim you should take it to around 203 degrees. That's above where the connective tissue "melts" thus....allowing it to fall apart. I've always been frustrated about this. I've lost competitions before where my pulled pork and ribs were fantastic but my brisket wasn't. FYI.....my burnt ends recipe basically came from this site. It's awesome. Are you wrapping in foil? I started using "pink butcher paper" and that seems to help. I smoke to 180, wrap in paper, back on till 194, pull let set in cooler with towels for a few hours, meat will "set" slices really well. Using a Hasty Bake, with lump coal, and large oak pieces. After my first try with oak I will not use anything else for beef, will try it on ribs in the spring. Got a Tappecue, it connects to your router, and you can check the temps on up to four probes from anywhere using the app. also you can set triggers or high/low temps etc, plus it makes you a smoke session graph to review once you are done.. Good lord Im a nerd...
  22. Unicorns tears.. Was about 15 minutes away from getting the final go code to use Mriya to ship a 160 ton cable from Nederlands to Louisiana.. Found one in the US.. My dreams are crushed.

Yup. Losing about 750k a day on a project in the gulf due to a cable "bird caging", and they have been down for 5 days. The 1.5 to get it here is a rounding error in accounting. Hope to be up and running in five or six days.

$750k/day? Yeah, I'd say you need it quickly. Like yesterday. lol
