  1. One other thing: A new rule this year says that all teams with a winning record (ie. 7-5) must be invited to a bowl before any 6-6 team, regardless of conference tie-ins. Sure, some 6-6 er's will get in, but not nearly as many as in years past.
  2. Andy Roddick was born in Omaha too...the only reason he even pretends that he's from Nebraska is the free Husker tickets now and again. Mark Richt grew up in the South and attended Miami...other than knowing where Omaha is on a map, there's probably not a whole lot of Nebraska in him anymore. Would be a great hire though...
  3. Wow... Don't worry about what people say about you? When you were 21 years old, how would you have felt if an entire STATE was telling you that you sucked (whether it was in person, on message boards, or on sports talk shows)? If this were a professional football team, I would agree with you...shut up and do your job and let the fans say what they're going to say. But give me a break. These are kids who are playing football, getting an education, and not getting paid for it. Yeah, they get a full ride scholarship, but that doesn't mean that they have to be perfect! If you think that these players are just "coasting" and taking it easy then you have never been around a collegete athlete for any amount of time. It is not a glamourous lifestyle, especially when people who don't know what they're talking about are criticizing them every day. Do people who don't work with you tell you daily at your job that you're terrible, working half-@$$ed, and should leave? I didn't think so... You wanna blame the coaching staff? Fine. They are paid millions of dollars to coach these players, make them better, and produce results. These guys obviously aren't doing that. But don't blame the infantry when its the General who's really the problem...
  4. Cody Glenn and every freshmen that still has a redshirt to be burned will get in the game before Ganz does.
  5. And as always, the defense is going to know EXACTLY what we are running whenever they see Ganz in the game...seriously, if this is the "spark" that our fearless leaders have come up with, then I'm putting every dime I have on Texas this weekend...
  6. I'm not sure that the NCAA would approve of a coach recruiting for a school that he doesn't work for (yet)...don't take this personally, but this is the dumbest thread I've seen in a while. The AD cannot call recruits, but recruits may contact the AD...unlike Jonas Gray, this young man did indeed commit to the school and the program, not the coaching staff, present or future.
  7. Yeah, that would be real embarassing sending 5 whole tickets back to Austin and another 7 to KU...
  8. Not to burst anyone's bubble, but Mark L. Richards is not an employee of HuskerVision
  9. If you think Joe Ganz is even half the quaterback that Sam Keller is, then you need to pass whatever it is you're smoking this way! Nothing against Joey, but everytime he's been in a game (few and far between, mind you) he has looked completely clueless. Bad coaching with good athletes = 4-8 record. Bottom line.
  10. I, personally, am going to completely forget the past 4 seasons...years from now, as I talk about my memories of Husker football and someone asks me about this time period, I'll simply reply "I don't know what you're talking about"
  11. I mowed the yard WITHOUT my radio... I spent 5 years in the marching band in Lincoln and it gets to the point every once in a while where I end up asking myself, "If the team doesn't care, why should I?"
  12. I'm not condoning these comments at all but... C'mon, when you were 21-22 years old, and at a local establisment enjoying a beverage or two, and for the past month, EVERYONE in an entire state has been riding your @$$ and criticizing every move you made, don't you think you might let something slip like this? I think we all too often forget that these are still kids who deal with a lot more pressure than they probably should be for simply playing a game.
  13. The problem with asking people who wait on baited breath for football season to start every year and who's entire week's mood is determined by a Husker game's outcome to relax with all these "rumors" is that its the only thing we have going right now. Who cares about anything else? Is this team getting better? No. Are we getting a chance to see what the future will bring by seeing more young guys on the field? No. Can we spend our time speculating on what bowl trip we'll be making this year? Absolutely not. Bottom line...the only thing that diehard Husker fans have to hang their hats onto right now is the speculation that exists with a probable coaching change. For many, this season is over and next year is already weighing heavy on our minds... For the record, I do agree with you that things will most definitely get worse if coaches leave mid-season, but c'mon...at this point, what's the difference between losing a game by 30 and losing a game by 22?
  14. Urban Meyer wasn't interested in coming here 4 years ago because Pedey had fired a 9-3 coach...that being said, what about Brian Kelly (Cincy) being a decent fit in Lincoln?
