  1. Helfrich stayed that “the vibe of the coaching staff on the field before the game is not good.” In his press conference Wednesday he came off very reflective, almost like this is his last go around.
  2. The more and more I hear it seems to me Mike Riley’s fate has already been sealed. He was very reflective in his press conference this week. Bruce Feldman talking on Fox that he’s hearing even 8-4 doesn’t save his job. Then Mark Helfrich said he was just on the field with Mike and the staff and “the vibe was not good.” All signs are pointing to a new direction next year.
  3. Oh yeah...and TO is going to be involved. He flew all the way down to Orlando to meet with UCF. He will go to bat for Frost no doubt. Almost like Bounds and Green are giving TO a do-over to make amends for how he was forced out of the AD position.
  4. The more you step back and look at this the more it looks like it’s Scott’s job if he wants it. 1.) Firing Eichorst gets any hurdles to firing Riley out of the way. If this year goes as bad as it appears Bounds and Green will be justified with their decision and it’s on its way. This decision was made because of Riley and Riley alone. 2.) Bounds and Green are being influenced by the money behind the program, and that money has a high level of support to get Scott to Lincoln. 3.) Frost started the season on many up and coming coaching lists, Bounds and Green see that if they don’t act this year Nebraska may be too late to the party. His stock will only grow as they win more games, possibly end the year in a New Years 6 as the Group of 5 rep. Hence the, “We want to get started” quote in the presser. 4.) Not by mistake that they mentioned the mid 90’s in the presser. 5.) The word compete keeps coming up. You see Scott on the sideline, that dude competes. His team follows suit. The writing is on the wall, the only thing that is left is for the season to play out like most think it will. Money would think this means that the AD is Trev. I must say I am not crazy about that hire, but it seems the only plausible way we get someone who agrees to hire Frost. Unless someone like Joe Parker tells us in the search that Frost would be on the top of his list, then you hire that guy that will also hire the football coach the administration wants. Hiring Frost is a safe way to go with big upside. If he fails, not too many fans will be upset because he is a Husker legend and that route is worth the try to many. I believe that not only Scott gets Nebraska, understands the type of players it takes to win here, and the type of program it takes to win, but he is a good football coach that would be on the radar of major Power 5 jobs in the near future.
  5. May be reading between the lines but Bounds comments on radio yesterday made it sound like this AD search wouldn’t take long. Seemed like he was talking as if they knew who they wanted and they know what that guy will do.
  6. I was thinking the same thing when we were down 17-14. 1-11 was a real thought that popped into my head.
  7. This team just seems to be lacking confidence right now.
  8. 14-3 Golden Knights. This will turn heads as far as Scott as a head coach nationally
  9. Rocky Long is doing good things at SDSU but he's almost as old as Bill Snyder...
  10. Love Mike, thank him for everything he has done. Rooting for him to really go on a run but if he doesn't it probably time to move on. Very telling in the middle of the video when he's asked about his conversation with Green and Bounds. You can tell he's holding a little back, and he says "There wasn't much conversation other than that, and what's going to happen going forward which is between us." Would have to believe Bounds and Green told Mike that things better improve or he could be next up.
  11. Curious why no one has mentioned PJ Fleck? Just think there’s no chance he moves in division? Others have mentioned Jeff Brohm so that can’t be it.. Talk about a guy who can create culture and an identity.
  12. Look into his staff. Scott looks like he is surrounded by some young, talented coaches. Troy Walters seems to be a star in the making as an O Coordinator. Stanford education doesn't seem to hurt either. They have youth and energy in the coaching staff. The question is, is there too much lack of big time experience?
  13. Chip Kelly is the best coach out there that does not have a job currently. End of story. He should be the standard that Nebraska goes after
  14. So maybe we get Jim Tressell this time...
  15. David Shaw is the guy I'd like to see at NU. Tough to pull him from his alma mater but with Washington and Oregon getting better in the division it will only get tougher for Stanford. Love his offense and they have a true identity.
  16. I like it. We all need a little humor right now. But, what was the last thing that the sock was actually right about? Don't get me wrong, some fun is needed right now but I'd like some real insight.
  17. If you go watch the OU vs ND game from 2012 the defense is clearly bend don't break. In fact, Fowler and Herbstreit consistently mention Diacos style of defense and how Landry Jones (or any good QB) can tear apart his defense with a good game. They had success early but the combination of bringing some pressure and making Jones' throwing windows so tight forced OU to make mistakes. That game is a great picture of how Diacos defense can be infuriating to watch but works great. Now, the question is how far our current talent is behind 2012 ND.
  18. So much respect for these guys and what they do. Proud he's on our team
  19. This will make some people smile http://kxno.iheart.com/onair/the-morning-rush-with-travis-justice-52935/how-nebraska-landed-parker-wildemans-son-15762475/
  20. Sounds like he's in as long as the offer is commitable
  21. Sharp on Sharp and Benning this morning said he is N. Crystal Balls still coming in for N as of this morning.
  22. Rick Kaczenski - Iowa's defensive line coach from 07'-11' and jump shiped to Nebraska for the same position in 12' Does that count? This one and Larry Johnson leaving PSU for OSU when Meyer took over are the only that come to my mind. Chris Ash left Ohio State to take the HC job @ Rutgers. He also had a previous stint at Whisky before he left with BB to roll down to Arky for a year. DJ Durkin went straight from Michigan to Maryland
