Nebraska sent offer to Scott Frost?
Sker4Ever replied to jessica0's topic in Rumorville: Hirings / Firings / What Ifs
I just don’t understand why people are always throwing these numbers out there? Are we really supposed to believe that these numbers would get out? For me, every time I see someone throw out contract numbers right now I discredit it. No chance that information is known by more than 3 or 4 people and they are not letting that get out. -
A decision could be made sooner than we thought

Sad if true. They have been nothing but grateful for being at Nebraska. Results aside, sad to see it end this way for Riley. -

jessica0=Scott Frost?!?!?!

Both Sharp and Benning were being very cryptic this morning. Almost to the point where they are trying to tell people without telling people it will not be Scott Frost. Sharp kept hinting at "someone who needs a job with recruiting ties to the state of California." Chip Kelly? Seems that they think Bill Moos is going for a homerun hire and not taking a chance on a guy who has been a head coach for 2 seasons. Bill Moos' contract is for 5 years, he wants this thing turned around quickly. I almost think he needs this hire to be as close to a sure thing, and as much as everyone loves Frost, Chip Kelly has proven he is a big time winner in a big time conference. Sharp and Benning also seem to hint that Frost will "one day" coach at Nebraska. No better way to lay the ground work for Frost to come one day than have his mentor set the stage. Seems like a smart way for long term stability. Could very much see Frost staying at UCF until that time.

Ok, what question is Moos referencing when he uses that term? Back then has no context in answering the question.

I'm not saying it's a coded message. I think it's something that Moos has talked about and it slipped as part of his talking points. What else in the context of what he was asked would he be referring to. What is "Back then" referring to in his career? He wasn't looking to hire Frost when he was an unproven coordinator at Washington State. And Nick Bahe didn't ask how he felt Scott had grown in his coaching career since being a coordinator. It was mingled in with his talking points and leads me to believe it has been a part of his conversations since he's been at Nebraska. Not trying to stir up a rumor, but in the context of his answer it doesn't just randomly fit.

Anyone listen to Moos' answer on Scott Frost closely yesterday? When he was talking about Scott Frost "paying his dues" he used the term "Back then" Bill is talking about 3 years ago when we passed on Scott to be the head coach at Nebraska. He knows what's happened in the past, and he was brought in to fix it. Osborne is clearly involved and Moos saying "Back then" gives a clear picture that he is here to right Shawn Eichorst's wrong. He has no other reason to use that term

CB Brendan Radley-Hiles [Oklahoma - Signed LOI]

I would put a lot of money on Riley telling the commits that he has been informed he will not be coaching at Nebraska next year so that they can begin to make other plans and be a part of the classes at other schools. -

Hightower's uncle on Miami board saying Bookie isn't coming to Nebraska, just doesn't want to tell the coaches. Talks about how they were joking with him on the trip how he just needs to get it over with and tell them he's not coming. -
We may have our new AD...
Sker4Ever replied to speedtoburn's topic in Rumorville: Hirings / Firings / What Ifs
http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/ Nebraska: There is chatter circulating that Nebraska has been kicking the tires on TCU AD Chris Del Conte. However, sources tell FootballScoop Del Conte is not expected to leave Fort Worth for Lincoln. We have been hearing of multiple sitting athletic directors, including in the SEC, who have signaled their interest in the position. Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork has publicly stated he is not a candidate. Will update as more is clear. -
What happens when Frost or Trev turns Nebraska down?
Sker4Ever replied to soup's topic in Husker Football
Doesn't seem out of the realm of possibilities. Danny White (UCF AD) is the son of Kevin White who is currently the AD at Duke and was previously at Notre Dame. His name has been mentioned in consideration. He's made two pretty good looking hires for UCF's biggest sports (Frost - football, Johnny Dawkins - basketball) -
RUMOR--Trev Alberts for AD
Sker4Ever replied to VectorVictor's topic in Rumorville: Hirings / Firings / What Ifs
While this may be genuine for him to take his name out, anyone think it could be some small way to save face? Say we've contacted more qualified AD's who are actually interested and it was looking clear he would not be selected. Instead of looking like a candidate who was not the best choice, by taking his name out the decision looks like it was made by Trev. -

Very interesting that there is very little by the way of news regarding the AD hire. Being kept rather quiet -
Looking like Nebraska is going to have to spend a little more each time UCF plays. Scott’s price will just keep going up. We’re not getting him at a bargain

Did you hear his presser after practice this week? Guy sounds like someone taking in his last ride.

Yes, right at the start of the game. Direct quote.

I can see this administration having respect for Riley and letting him know this is his last season. Almost allowing him to enjoy every last along the way, rather than have it abruptly end and not know it was your last season coaching.
