  1. And they are ready? No one and I mean no one they have played has prepared them for the team speed they are about to get from us on Saturday. We will be fine, Shawn Watson is gone, our offence can move the ball well (I have watched them play, their D is ssssslllllooooowwwww). Also, you are not going to be seeing the experimentation we have been on D. Bo knows defence and I am not worried.
  2. I think we are going to win by more than 7 points. I am not drinking the Wisky kool aid, seriously, stop listening to ESPN. PAPER TIGER people.
  3. Nebraska 35 Wisconsin 24 Rushing 280 Passing 180 Again, they have played NOBODY!!!
  4. But don't you think it's safe to say that Bo and Carl have been very experimental with their combinations of players on the defensive side. I think this itself has led to the games seeming close, I think Bo and Carl were confident enouph that they could do this and still easily win their first four games. Just seems like we would dial it up, especially on O and score pretty easily when we needed to. See the second half of the Fresno St. game and the same with Washington. We basically ran the ball at will when we needed to and weren't testing things out. Tenn Chat and Wyoming never had a chance and you saw all kind of crazy combinations of players on D.
  5. Great post. You mean to tell me Wisconsin hasn't beaten the #1 team in the country each week. I never would have realized that from reading the posts around here. Seriously though, I think it will be a close game till the fourth quarter when our O will just were them down. I have watched a few of there games too, and those saying they are slow on D aren't joking.
  6. Thank you. The FREAK OUT level around here is amazing. The way people are acting you would think Wisconsin has beat the top 4 teams in the nation their first four games. Again, they have played nobody, so what, they beat up a bunch of cream puffs. OMG, we are going to lose by 200 points or so. Please, sure we could lose, but I think we have a better chance of winning than many realize.
  7. That's a rushed judgment. We saw him fail miserably at it in the Tenn-Chat game and then he had one decent pitch (questionably late in my opinion) last night. I really wouldn't jump to the conclusion that he runs the option very well based on those two performances. Well, it's equally a rush to judgement to say he did terrible against Tenn Chat when Carne's line at the time consisted of 2nd, 3rd and 4th teamers plus the waterboy. There was no blocking going on and Carnes had no where to go. Time will tell.
  8. A FREAKING MEN!!! Also, quite honestly, any of the teams we have played so far could beat any of the ones Wisconsin has played. Like a previous poster pointed out, the teams the Badgers have played have been getting beat by every body. So what if Wisconsin blew them out, I guess we will see come Saturday. If Wisconsin kills us on Saturday, then I will be a believer.
  9. And honestly you should. What the hell is the point of having a football discussion if you can't talk football? I think some of the breakdowns in this thread have been very well thought out and bring up some points that a lot of us haven't thought about. This is quality discussion not useless whining. Yes, many comments have been very well thought out, but there is some serious over reacting going on as well. I have a right to my opinion also, since this a message board and some/many take this WAY to serious. I love my Huskers as much as the next guy does, but if they do lose this week, the world won't be over. Some get way to upset over a football game, just my humble opinion.
  10. What have we learned, oh yeah, we have a ton of armchair defensive coorbinators on this board. I know i will get slammed for that one, but seriously have some faith in Bo and Carl. Its obvious to me that our coaching staff knows we can beat the teams we played with one arm tired behind our back. That being the case, they have experimented a lot because we were never in any real danger of losing. You won't see much of that from here on out. Bo isn't like Wisconsin's coach who keeps his A players in the whole game because he gets off on running the score up on High School teams. Could we lose this week? Sure could, but we can also win, Wisconsin reminds me very much of the Husker teams of the late 80's and early 90's. We beat up on much lesser teams then got schooled against any real talent. I feel the Badgers are very much a "Paper Tiger." We will see next Saturday, I am hoping for a good game, the Huskers and Bo just may surprise some of you. If we do lose, I like are chances in a rematch even better.
  11. That option pitch by Carnes was poetic, it brought back some very found memories. Also, boy oh boy do we no how to panic!!! By no means is our game against Wisky a automatic loss.
  12. Very good points. The way the Big 10 is looking, any one of us is going to have our hands full come Rose Bowl time. I watched the Stanford game last night, now they are scary good and Oregon is still solid. The Rose Bowl might be tough on the BIG this year.
  13. Hey, call me crazy but it could happen. Granted I am getting way ahead of myself, but this is a message board after all. We have seen what a good offence they have, do any of you think Washington could have a decent shot at winning the Pack 12? If we win the BIG 10, and thats a big if, we can see them in the Rose Bowl. I for one sure don't want to see it happen. What do you think?
  14. Of course they can be beat. Any team can be beat. But I think OP's point is that Washington probably tried to throw more at us than most teams will this year. Sark was a fantastic offensive coordinator at USC. If I'm not mistaken, he was the OC when USC obliterated Oklahoma in the the BCS National Championship Game a few years ago. If he wasn't, well than that point is moot. Regardless, he's a proven and talented offensive mind from USC. That said, I still think Wisconsin will still be a tougher challenge because of their prowess with the downhill running game. They haven't played anybody yet, but we haven't exactly played a tough non-con either. Tougher than Wisconsin's, but not drastically. I agree with you and the OP, Washington has very bright future ahead of them. My only point is that some seem to think that Wisconsin is this unstopable force and we are doomed.
  15. Wisconsin hasn't played a decent team yet ( not saying we have the toughest non con schedual either). My point is I don't understand this fear that many seem to have of them. They can be beat.
  16. Well, he is young and has room to grow. Yet, what I have seen of his demeanor with the team and on the sidelines, I am truly not impressed. It doesn't take a genious to see that he is all about himself and it will be his downfall. We have some talent behind him (Brion Carnes) and some coming in (Jamal Turner, unfortunately Bubba Starling is a pipe dream and will never be here. God, I hope I am wrong about Bubba). He better watch out, he may be next years Zac Lee and be riding the bench. It just seemed to me that during the Bowl game when Cody was at the helm, the O line pass blocked better. We have eight months to wait and see what will happen.
  17. Feeling a little bit nostaglic, let's see what some of your greatest memories of the NU/OU rivalry are. One of mine is back in the mid 80's, Jamel Hallaway said in the papers that Danny Noonan would never touch him during the game. As the game unfolds, Noonan sacks Jamel and as He looks up at Noonan, Noonan touches him on his helmet, CLASSIC. Unfortunelty we lost that game. I believe that is also the game were we wore all red unies. I am really going to miss playing OU, yes the Big 12 took some luster off of the rivalry, but at least we got to play each other every few years.
  18. First, what a crazy last five minutes of the OU/Okie lite (bedlum) game, WOW!!! Very excited to be going out playing OU, couldn't have asked for a better match up. I am excited about going to the Big 10, but now that the end is near and it's us and OU, I am also kind of sad. I am in my early 40's and have many fond memories of this great rivalry and it's hard to see it end for good ( ya I know the Big 12 killed it some what, but at least we still got to play each other every few years). Here's to a Husker victory, OU, I for one will really miss you guys.
  19. If we win next week and if UCONN beats Southern Florida wouldn't we play them since they would be the Big East champs? There's a matchup I wouldn't look forward to, not exciting at all.
  20. Pelini himself answers your question during his press conference. He said and I quote, "this game is irrelevant." We still control our destiny and if we beat CU, we go to the Big 12 championship. If this game had cost us a shot then we might have seen a different Pelini, but it doesn't and his comment may have been a jab at the refs, because this game really was irrelevant. It's wired, I don't feel as bad about this loss as I have others, I know we didn't lose, the refs gave the game to aTm. When the game was over, even the announcers commented that Pelini was running after the refs before he went over to shake aTm's coaches hand. I was hoping he would just lay a lick on them.
  21. Exactly, same thing with Okie lite and look how that game went. I would put our D up against anyone and like our chances. A&M defense is terrible? Is that why they were ranked in the top ten in the nation in run defense heading into Baylor? And yes I know they allowed 291 yards to Baylor. But I would say the A&M defense is FAR from terrible. Just ask OU with 1st and goal inside the five THREE times with no points to show for it. OU is seriously overrated, plus Stoops has done terrible away from home. A&M is getting a lot of love lately but we will see this weekend if they are the real deal or not. Our D is crazy good when all are healthy and A&M is in for a rude awakening.
  22. Exactly, same thing with Okie lite and look how that game went. I would put our D up against anyone and like our chances.
  23. Didn't I say there would be a A&M is going to kill us thread. I told you so!!! To many girls around here, we will be fine. Even if we do lose we can beat CU and still take the North. I like our chances though, our D is one of the best, there top running back is out and I hope they try and pass on us all day long. The Huskers have risen to the challenge in every game were we supposedly could get beaten. Not worried.
  24. Even though he would never say it, this had to be hard for Turner. Potentially, this was his last time in Memorial Stadium, unless he visits for personally reasons. The final chapter on this part of his life and it was a huge part of his life. We love you Turner and know you will turn KU around. I might even have to be a KU fan just for you. Hopefully we meet in a Bowl game or have a home and away with you some day down the road (Huskers win of course).
  25. What we learned today, let's see. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, WE ARE 9-1, quit over analyzing everything and just freaking enjoy it!!! Good lord people. I love what Matt Davidson had to say about this on 1110 before the game. People need to relax and be happy that we are were we are. Are chances of winning the Big 12 on the way out is very GOOD!!! We are back in the Top Ten, and we are even being talked about when it comes to the MNC (slim chance though). Oregon barely won today, Iowa lost again, TCU barely escapes with a win, and Utah gets beat a second week in a row. Parody people, nothing is a given anymore, but yet the Huskers are still 9-1. I don't care how we win or how ugly it is, a win is a win and that is all that matters. Maybe we need to relive 07 (better yet, 04 through 07) again so some on here will be more thankful!!! Just wait, there will soon be the A&M is going to kill us thread. Like Mizzu and and Okie lite were supposed to. P.S. WOW, Wisconsin is scary.
