  1. What I don't understand, in the 1st quarter, Wats called several designed QB runs. My question is, if you're going to do that, why not use the QB that's actually going to be effective? I've never seen a team more "snake bitten" than us. I swear, if it wasn't for bad breaks, we'd get no breaks at all. Seriously, Paul going in for a touchdown stays on his feet yet fumbles? A pass goes off 5 different people and it ends up in their hands for an INT? I don't think I've ever seen the type of snafu's that are happening to us on a regular basis.
  2. without AA and A-Rob, maybe nu can win. Injuries on ISU's offense isn't what we need, we need some on their D to give our O an offensive breakout to get some confidence! haha
  3. They only gave up 259 yards. Had the offense done anything, they probably wouldn't have scored the 24 points on the defense.
  4. I agree, didn't make a difference but it was terrible officiating. It was all over the place. Some plays they would let the players play and the next they would hardly touch them and throw the flag. They might as well take holding out of the rule book, I don't know how many times they showed a replay of Sheffield throwing the ball and you'd see damn near every TTech lineman wrapping up our d-line.
  5. Over the last year or 2 we've relied on a spark to get us going against tough teams. I'm still waiting for that spark against TTech. Hopefully the O comes out of halftime a little pissed off and takes it down the field old school and gets everyone fired back up.
  6. Hard to due when he only has about 2 1/2 seconds to throw the ball, JGanz would make plays with his feet and allow his receivers to get open, ZLee can't do anything with his feet
  7. I think last year's offensive success was much more due to Ganz than Watson. We have no identity on offense, no creativity and it usually takes a spark, either from the O or special teams to kick start us against tough teams. We're making TTech's defense look like world beaters, what the hell are we going to do against someone with a good defense?
  8. Kinda reminds me of 2001, where we had a stout D and only 1 option on offense.
  9. Couldn't agree more. I got to meet Suh at a golf tournament and he was the most down to earth guy I've seen in a long time. He signed everything put in front of him and talked with anyone that wanted to talk. When we ate the dinner, someone asked if he was going to eat, he declined and said if someone saw him eat a meal for free, he'd be in deep trouble. He's a great person to represent NU.
  10. The only two games Kansas could lose in the North would be Nebraska or Missouri, or both. The rest of the north is worthless. If Texas doesn't score 3 touchdowns from Defense/Special Teams, that's a whole different game. CU was giving them all they could handle AT Texas. I wouldn't be surpised to see CU give KU and NU all we want and possibly more. As bad as CU has looked this year, they looked decent at times versus Texas.
  11. I think the rain hurt our passing game far more than Mizzou's. Gabbert didn't seem to affected by the rain, he threw a lot of good balls. Our special teams were piss poor at best, and in the games previously, that had been a strength. I think in non-monsoon conditions, our special teams wouldn't have given Mizzou the gifts that they did in the 1st half.
  12. Thanks for coming back in, I have no fingernails left, I'm just glad it didn't get too far out of hand in the first 3 quarters. Props to your D for completely shutting us down through 3. Glad I was watching on TV, those people won't dry out for days!
  13. I think the weather would definately favor us, it would turn it into a ground dogfight, and I would like our chances going head to head in a rushing battle.
  14. Noted. The next time I think I care about something I'll be sure to check with you for approval first. (looks like I'm not the only one who thought it was a good point though . . .) Make sure you check and underline that note. If you look at other posts, Vince likes to give his approval on everything, whether the poster wants it or not. Just like Colorado sucking, it's going to happen and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Give my approval? Never. I just don't take this stuff seriously, and I look at it for what it is and nothing more. Sorry, for you, that I get it and you don't. Oh almighty Infomercial cleaning dude, please impart some of your wisdom on us lowly huskerboard posters. What is this "it" that you accuse so many on this board of not getting? The fact that you change your arguments from post to post? The fact that you do, in fact, have to give your approval on people's post, and if they dont' agree with you, then they don't get it? Because I can assure you...well all "get" that just fine. But yet, I'm still unsure, so please, enlighten us. Let me make it beyond simple for you..... and a few others. Over the last few years MU has owned NU - with last year being the most recent. In came a very average MU team to Lincoln and NU let MU score 52 points. The last few years. the games have been blow outs in MU's favor. Until NU decides to win and does so, the media will always spin towards MU. From Gabbert type stories to what Chase Daniels will be eating while watching the game on Thursday, the media will gravitate to the better of the two teams. It's all to sell media. Once NU bucks up and takes control of the series we will see the slant slide in NU's favor. There, I hope you get it as I really don't think I can make it any more simple for you. Only thing I differ about this is last year's Missouri team was far from "very average". This is probably the best collection of experienced talent they've thrown on the field in a very long time. This was the team that MU fans were claiming to be their BCS championship team. They looked like it against us, but didn't fill the bill in the end. NU completely changed their approach going into that game and it backfired big time. I know they learned from that and I'm looking forward to a great game. I don't think it will be an easy win for whoever comes out on top, just hope it's us! GBR
  15. I'm hoping we can get enough pressure on Gabbert with our front 4 without blitzing. Nevada was able to put quite a bit of pressure on him. Dillard can spy and use the other backers in coverage. I'm hoping Lee learned from his game at VaTech, because I can imagine MU is going to try and force Lee to beat them through the air.
  16. More reasoning why the polls shouldn't come out until the 4th or 5th week of the season. Teams that start out at the top and lose and get back up there more easily than a team can start up out of it and get up to the top. What I find hilarious is the coaches poll this week, Missouri moves up 5 spots from 23 to 18 without playing, and we only move up 2. NU needs to win this week to show that we can 1. Beat a ranked team and 2. Win a big game on the road. Look for NU to jump into the top 15 with a win, and drop out of the top 25 with a loss.
  17. Nevada was getting to Gabbert on a regular basis, I expected Gabbert to be much more mobile than what he showed against Nevada. I think our secondary has to be good enough to take away the quick easy hits to give our D-Line a chance to put some stains on Gabbert's back! Looking forward to a great game!
  18. I think that's way too high. I think at this point we're right where we should be. Yeah, we should have beat VTech, but we didn't. We will get up there if we do the things that are in our power. We have to prove ourselves on the road against Missour & Kansas, and at home against Texas Tech and OU. The rankings will take care of themselves if we do our part.
  19. The sad part is it shouldn't have even come down to this. 6 times we hit the red zone, and came out with 5 field goals and a punt after a 1st and goal from the 6. If we get more on 1 of those 6 possesions, the game is out of reach for VT. VTech's defense did what it needed to the entire game, kept us out of the end zone. Minus the first and last possesion, our D played decent. I would have said the D played great but VTech's ineptitude had quite a bit to do with our success on D.
  20. Are you kidding me? Notre Dame only moving up to top 20? They will move up to the spot vacated by Oklahoma this week!
  21. Probably because they were destroyed by injuries and still almost came into Lincoln and beat us had it not been for the "kick heard around the world".
  22. You'd think that game was played down here last week the way people still talk about it. I'm kind of flattered that we're considered their signature win of their storied football history. They neglect to remember the beatings they took at our hands the year before (63 points in first half, 77-28 victory) or a few years later in 2002 (48-10). I do remind them of those 2 games but it doesn't seem to phase them.
