  1. Those were rankings for last year, right? Not rankings for this next year.
  2. I would love to see more screen passes. That was one thing (that the coach that shall not be named) ran pretty well. I also agree with the people that said the play action would be a great addition. there are so many easy throws that could help TM get some confidence early in the game. A simple one or two route combo, and if nothing is open, tuck and run.
  3. It would be nice if the next coach would change the pace of the game. Get up and down the floor by pushing the ball or pressing after a made basket. It might help recruit if kids can see that they can get some stats in our offense. I know, we all want team players that are for the team instead of their own stats, but lets be honest, kids still care about their stats and where they fit into the offense. No one wants to come here to average four points a game.
  4. It is easier said than done, to schedule a top tier team. These games are a two way street. Each team has to agree to the game. Why would Alabama want to schedule us? They live in the SEC where they do not have to schedule a tough non-conference game all the time and people still think their schedule is tough. At this point in time, we are not going to find many big time schools, that will want to come to Nebraska and play this year.

  6. I would think our connections would help us out a lot on this kid. Hopefully, Bo can work his magic here.
  7. Didn't Stanford also pickup Barry Sanders Jr? If so, they might be alright at running the ball for the next several years.
  8. It might be the best recruit Doc will get for the class.
  9. Did we not recruit him for DT?
  10. Did he get a scholarship offer, or is this a preferred walk-on? I watched one of his games this year. The kid has a strong arm. But I was under the impression that he wanted to play baseball and not football at the next level. What changed? Or is he doing both?
  11. Potentially 4 OL though? The talent that these four young men possess, I think it is a no brainer to take all four offensive lineman. Especially over a plan C or D tight end. Or five or sixth choice DB just to get another person at the position.
  12. Great job ladies. Another NCAA tourney appearance and hopefully a long run. Keep up the good work.
  13. Do you think anyone would notice, if he just signed with us this Febuary?
  14. OSU- 75 NU-50 I just see a major let down after Wednesday's big win.
  15. Manning will never leave KS and I've always maintained an assistant at Duke (or other school like that) would rather stay for another year or two and then get a GOOD job as opposed to leaving for Nebraska. The only chance we got is to hire someone as we bring in the new arena, which is why Tom needs to make a decision quickly. This literally is, in my opinion, Nebraska's only chance for probably 60 years until they build new facilities again, to bring in a decent coach. What kind of "GOOD JOBS" are out there that come open every year. The jobs that are available are more than likely because the coach has just been fired because the program is not producing wins. I agree, that there are a lot more favorable positions than Nebraska basketball coach, but some assistants might think this is the perfect spot to start his head coaching career. Most coaches are not going to start here, thinking this is the first and "ONLY" job that they will take. But more than likely use this as a stepping stone kind of job. I am not just looking at the Duke assistants, but any assistant from the likes of North Carolina, Michigan State, Ohio State, Kentucky, etc. It even seems that former players from these programs are getting into coaching. If we could get a young assistant and a couple former players as assistants, that would greatly approve our chances in the recruiting world. I admit, I am no professional on how to build a basketball program. It just pains me to see our program struggle year after year.
  16. I say, we go after an assistant at a big time basketball school. Wojohowski (sp) from Duke comes to mind. A big time assistant would be used to recruiting the best players in the country, plus have plenty of knowledge from being around great head coaches. What about Danny Manning from Kansas. What kind of a price tag would we have to throw at him to have him leave Kansas and come build our program?
  17. His injury has a great deal to do with the amount of offers that he has received. I think he is well worth the gamble especially since we only have 11 kids committed to this class.
  18. With us missing on a couple of recruits, it seems. I think Shoff would be the perfect player to offer a scholarship too. He might not play a position of need (DB), but we can never have enough quality offensive lineman.
  19. Am I the only one that thinks Mike Shoff is a throw back to the 90s lineman that we use to recruit. Big, in-state talent that we can redshirt and sit on the bench when is a freshman. And then let him see the field in his third year (soph) and have him get playing time as a junior and senior.
  20. Please do not say that. How about we just take them both, if we have room.
  21. If I was a running back recruit, I would look at the amount of carries that our three freshman had this year, and would not personally be scared about being buried on the depth chart. I would see it, as after Burkhead, they really don't have a number two back ready to carry the load.
  22. If the next quarterback has all those skills that you are alluding that TM does not have (I'm not saying he has them). It is not going to matter much if the line does not block, and the receivers do not catch the ball. Every single player on our team, has much to improve on. (Even Rex). Basically, what I am trying to say is our whole offense needs to get better for the team to reach our (the fans) goals.
  23. you literally just sold me. two good reasons to go right there. Sign me up, coach.
  24. I hope he commits to us on LOI Signing day.
