  1. Did anyone else notice that he didn't roll out to his left the whole game. I was watching the game at My sisters house, and her husband (who absolutely hates NE) pointed that out all game. He really had happy feet also from the start, and when there would be even just a little pressure he would roll to his right every time. Was not impressed by his play at all.
  2. I'm sorry but where is Steinkuhler in all of the posts saying that Suh should get the game's MVP? Steinkuhler had a way better first half then Suh did, and Suh didn't really come alive until the second half. Also, quarterbacks get the mvp because they are the quarterback. If you are another player, you have to have a ridiculously good game to steal the show from the quarterback. Even mediocre play out of your quarterback will get him the MVP. And don't forget, Ganz was responsible for the only two touchdowns we got the entire game. The only other points we had were 4 field goals. Steinkuhler has been mentioned in multiple posts (starting with mine 3rd on the page). In fact he is mentioned in the post just before yours. Reading Is Fundamental. Also as it has been mentioned. Stein had a huge game in the first half because Suh was getting doubled and tripled. Then when Ty was all over the place, they had to make sure he was accounted for. After all that Ty did...Suh still ended up with more tackles, sacks, tackles for loss and the blocked kick. The complete "Blackshirts" may not be back...but the front line is. Absolutely, And the best part about the rest of the defense, is that most of the them are young and will be better next year. The Blackshirts are here to stay IMO
  3. Especially after hearing the anouncers, I believe during the OSU game saying that the big 12 as a conference isn't as good as a whole because when the SEC is playing the bowls they cheer for other SEC teams and the people in the big 12 won't. I have to say that I always do maybe the only one I don't know, but it makes us look much better when we do chear for other big 12 teams. I have to admitt though I had a tough time cheering for MIzzou not so much the team as much as Daniels. I loved the ending though, Daniels played horrible, but the TEAM ended up winning so that works for me.
  4. I think the defensive front played dominanat the whole game. What people don't understand is you don't have to be making all the tackles to be dominant up front. In the first half they were doubling up on Suh and Stein was tearing it up well in the second half they doubled on Stein and Suh was tearing it up. Suh even made that remark after the game. As far as Ganz he was one hell of a LEADER for this team. He admitted mistakes and put the game and the team on his shoulder all season long. Yes he made mistakes, but he also over came them to help make the plays needed to be in position to win the game. I think I even remember hearing him in an interview after the game saying that he went up to the D and apologized for putting them in such bad situations. That takes a true leader to do that. As far as not being able to win without him, well, I think it is more like we couldn't win without a leader like him. I said after the game that I really thought that Stein deserved the MVP. Maybe Suh, but I kind of understand the decision, at least he said that it should be split amoungst the d-line as well. That's pretty cool IMO
  5. te name='zE bOp' date='Dec 11 2008, 04:22 PM' post='393663'] We feed it to cattle to make awesome steaks! I've had those steaks and I'll admit, they're pretty damn tasty. 'Omaha Steaks'are probably the best, you can have them shipped.....link Sorry Mr Zebop, but I have to disagree with you. Although Omaha Steaks are pretty damn good. The best steaks are the ones that are on a different type of feed then the ones that get sold to the packing houses, Just have to have the right conections I guess, But then you would have to talk to us hicks outside of the city LOL.
  6. It is true. I think there is a bigger need for another DT in this class than getting a third DE. Wow that's really surprising, considering they aren't sure if Ankrah will play DT or DE and Ankrah in an interview said that he would play where ever the coaches think he would best suit him and the team. I think it would be a mistake as well cooling on this guy, unless he is not taking us seriously.
  7. Wow, I watched the video and this kid has some serious speed. It would be a great get. I believe I remember watching an interview on KETV (Omaha News) Sports with Bo and he was talking about the recruiting class and said that he is hoping to bring in 23 new recruits (I think that's what he said) and also that there would be a few that it looks like might not make it to Lincoln. I wish I could find that somewhere, but I can't.
  8. Maybe this was the problem with that. LOL
  9. This is absolutely a huge GET!!! Awesome!! Welcome to N country Mr. aNkrah Your Crazed fans await your arrival!!!
  10. What a waist of talent. the guy is lethal and he didnt even run much. That's to bad, Hopefully he will get his head on straight (A little late is better than never) and go to a school and succeed. I would hate to see anyones talent go to waste, espeacially of that caliber. Well I hope when Cody comes in and will make an impact both on and off the field. The better get, if this is the case. Not saying Rollison is or was looking at us, but I would much rather have the 4 star talent with good grades than the 5 star without the grades. It always seems as though they are in less trouble with the law or others when this is the case. Not always, but usually. IMO
  11. Rollison sounded pretty darn good, but was it the fact that Rollison's team is that much better, or is Rollison that much better. I thought it sounded Like Green had a pretty good game. Just wondering.
  12. This pretty cool, thanks for the updates from everyone.
  13. From what I have heard he is N no matter what... That is even better news!!!
  14. Pelini didn't recruit those guys, Frank did. So I don't know how you can call them his guys. He is just a great coach that got them to play at a high level. I know I am getting older and my memory seems to skip around a bit, but wasn't the 2002 D horrible with pretty much the same guys as 2003?
  15. What makes this thread any different then any of the other hypothetical ones on here? People saying who they think should play, I mean come on they don’t have any power of that yet it is common on here. People saying what kind of offense or defense should be ran, once again no say in that but a regular occurrence. What color uniforms the team should wear, last I check nobody has the power to do that but it is brought up at least 2-3 times a year. Where people think we should be ranked, who should win the Heisman, who should be Team MVP, what bowl we should go to, Helu over Lucky, Witt over Lee over Spano, how to redshirt players, what recruits to get, who should be the coach, what Bo should wear, when to pass out Blackshirts, etc. etc. My point is there are plenty of things brought up on this board every single day that none of us have any say over or have any real knowledge about, however we still bring them up and discuss them. Does that mean “………… by all means we should HANDLE them”? No it doesn’t. It means this is a message board made for discussing your views and getting other peoples input on the whole ordeal. I for one thought this topic was interesting and something different to think about besides the Clemson game. But that could just be me. Once again if you don’t like a topic you don’t have to respond to it, you don’t even have to read it. That being said if you do choose to read it and respond we just ask that it is done in a respectful manner. Thank you for cleaning this up, for a second there I thought I took a really really wrong turn onto the big red board I really think that would be a good way to figure out the future schedules with some anyway.
  16. The coaches will find the best fit for him. But man that burst of speed he has in the open field is just crazy. I think with that and the power he shows he would make an excellent go to guy at WR. If he can run some of the routes like Swift and Petersen with that burst of speed that would be dangerous. Welcome aboard!!!
  17. I agree you have to have talent there is no doubt about that, but I think that when you have coaches that can take players with lesser star ratings and make them play to their potential that is the key. The problem the last few years wasn't the fact that we didn't have talent it just wasn't used in the right ways like they are now. I think overall looking at the recruits red shirted and the incoming recruits I think we will be just fine.
  18. IMO, It isn't all that bad that there is more competition now then there used to be in the big 12. This staff did a good job coaching this year with the players that they had and could see a big time improvement in the players who struggled last year. This will help with recruits. I think the competiton between schools now will prove who the best coaches are not only by the type of recruits they get (as far as stars), but also how they are able to produce with their players.
  19. Not only Do hope and think that OU will win, i really hope that he is wrong about the Husker game as well. It would really suck losing to Clemson after all of them have been tagging along the past few weeks on this board. It will be a great game I am guessing, and the way it seems they have some pretty good fans as well. GBR
  20. I think that Spano has really been overlooked. It really will be interesting to see who will be the starter next year. At this point as far as I see it, it is a toss up and should be interesting to see who folds and who will make it through the competition. All in all it should make them all better.
  21. Charlie Ward LOL Wasn't he like 52 or something when he played?
  22. "I'm thinkin' Terelle Pryor, but a better passer..." Man, I hope you are right that would be awesome! And if you are then he would start next year. The best man should start end of story.
  23. Since when do the teams you speak of put their best on the field? Applewhite was hands down a better QB than Sims ever though of being at Texass. Who did Mack play? Well, it sure as hell wasn't his best. I was just in a conversation about that the other day. It was absolutely rediculous that Sims started at all that year or even played really when Applewhite was clearly the better choice. I often wonder if Money may have been involved. Oh well I am just hoping that never happens here!
