  1. Pro: We've got a lot coming back this year! Con: So does everybody else...
  2. 247 didn't even exist in the Callahan era...
  3. Something I think a lot of people don't really grasp: Frost took over a MUCH better situation at UCF than he did at Nebraska. Things went totally off the rails in George O'Leary's winless final season at UCF, but that was still a team just two years removed from a Fiesta Bowl win and a top 10 finish. O'Leary built a pretty solid team, they just needed a little help getting back to where they should've been. A lot of people only looked at that winless year (and not the years that preceded it) and thought Frost could pull off that kind of turnaround anywhere. Unfortunately, well, Mike Riley was a coach who never came anywhere near O'Leary's career achievements, and certainly not at Nebraska...
  4. Maybe at some point, guys like you will have a sudden realization that Frost hasn't really even been running his offense most of the time he's been here...
  5. Sounds like you've reached your upload limit and need to clear out some old junk. Click on your name up in the corner and go to My Attachments and check some old uploads and delete them.
  6. Reminds me of Kenny Bell writing KCCO on his armbands. (lol cropping lol)
  7. And at this point I suspect that will be the case. It's the AD equivalent of promoting a coordinator to head coach. If the whole athletic department administration needed to be burned down and rebuilt, I'd be very concerned, but I don't think that's the case here. It's not like we're promoting Pederson or Eichorst's hand-picked successor...

  9. @Nebraska55fan I think the 'danger' here is an ugly incident involving Moos. Or one that's already happened with some big boosters...
  10. Huh? If it was all done suddenly, why would they have already had a replacement ready? As of 'this week' Garrett Klassy is the interim AD.
  11. Crust is more important than anything on the list of things a pizza needs to get right. I've rarely come across pizza that screws up the sauce that badly, but a good crust separates the men from the boys.
  12. @Born N Bled Red Your thread was about potentially firing a head coach. Guess whose job it is to fire head coaches? These things are inseparable, whether you mentioned it in your post or not.

  14. Yep, we definitely needed another thread about this.
  15. Yep, rumor floating around is that Pollard turned us down. He's bringing in around $750k/yr at Iowa State, hard to blame him if the ISU job is 'safer' than Nebraska.
  16. I'd still like to see a throwback uniform based on those George Sauer-era jerseys.
  17. Is he? The 2021 class was ranked #17, sure, but that just ties Frost's 2019 class. Otherwise, Hoiberg's classes haven't been all that special. I think one big get is coloring perceptions more than a little. McGowens is highly rated, but so was Marlon Lucky, you know? And after two years, Tim Miles had an NCAA Tournament appearance and a win/loss ratio more than double Hoiberg's.
  18. Funny how a minute ago some were talking about wins & losses being the one true measure of a coach, and now people are apparently more confident in a .237 coach than a .375 coach...
  19. If it's true that relations between Moos and Frost soured in the wake of the OU game debacle, I would imagine that Green already knew Frost's feelings.
  20. To me, the biggest problem with the Frost era has still been in getting the roster turned over and getting the right players in place. Too many holes in too many positions. Having almost the entire defense back next year is huge IMO, though we still need a pass rusher. The offensive side of the roster has been the bigger problem. I don't blame Frost for the O-line's regression in his second year - much of that was just a product of losing the last of Bo's guys. But I think Frost does deserve at least some blame for the collapse of the WR and RB squads. I don't blame him for Riley's guys leaving, but there's been way too many of Frost's own recruits leaving in those groups. What I don't really know is whether it's something Frost or the other coaches screwed up or if it's just rotten luck. I mean, obviously the reasons Wan'dale isn't on the team anymore are completely different than for Washington. I'm cautiously optimistic about the WRs, although depth could get scary in a hurry. The RBs, I don't even know what to think. I know we had some injuries and illness last year, but I still feel like having to play Wan'dale as the #2 RB is a big red flag - was there really no one else who could play, at a position that's usually fairly easy for new guys to adjust to? And though we've got a lot of guys who look promising for this year, we've also got a lot of guys with a history of injury issues.
  21. Yeah, AFAICT the former is pretty much all there really is to it. This isn't like Pederson or Eichorst, where it's directly about football. It's more about, ah, off the field issues.
  22. What "reimagined Big 12"?! You mean the one that exists only in your imagination?
