  1. I agree with you HANC about the option working in college football. Every offense out there today and in the past is about one thing and one thing only, and T.O. said this, EXECUTION. It's about putting a man on a man and every guy doing his job. Who cares if the opposing team loads the box with 8 or 9 guys, teams did that for years and it didn't stop us from steam rolling their sorry asses. Speed doesn't mean sh!t when its going backwards or lying on its back. Yes, the option would still work. Can anyone and everyone run it effectively? No. But, with the right coach and players, yes.
  2. Hell yeah, we pushed TTECH to OT and the game agains OU (minus the first 5 min.) was a lot closer than most think. Let me think, be North champs and play for the Big XII Championship or stay home and not have a chance? Give me a shot at one of those south teams. Anything could happen in that game. Remember KSUcks beating OU and sCUm beating UT when everyone said that they didn't have a chance? We have played the Longhorns very close the last few years and with Callllahan as the coach none the less. So you ask would I like to play in the Big XII Championship game?......f@&k yes I would.
  3. Don't look now but Baylor leads TTECH after 1qtr.
  4. Gotta love it! Fatboy must have not ate enough boogers Thurs.
  5. I disagree, it's called being a fan. Part of football is having a team or teams that no one can stand. I know some go to extremes, i.e. slashing tires, keying cars, ect., doing things like that is childish. But hating a team that is not your own is not. I know a few older fans, like in their 60's and 70's, that saying "Oklahoma Sooners" is like saying a curse word.
  6. CU is like the little smart-ass mouthy kid who doesn't know when to shut up. They get their shots in every once in awhile but what they need is an old fashioned behind the woodshed ass kickin. NU needs to come in with a purpose and knock the damn buffs teeth in. I hate sCUm, always have and always will. The Blackshirts need to go out and slap them buffs around like the bitches they are. This game is a perfect opportunity for our D to shut at team completely down and dominate them. Then the O can just slam the ball down their throats and chew up clock all day long. I can't wait for this game. Normally topeka I would be more classy and forgive me if I'm not with my post. But, this is CU we are talking about and I would love nothing more than to send them home with their tails tucked between their legs to think about all offseason about the beat down they just got.
  7. NU-38 sCUm-7 Rush- 182 Pass-289 Man I HATE the Buffs!!!!
  8. Welcome to the board man, look forward to hearing what ya have to add.
  9. I tip my hat to the seniors as well. After fighting through and dealing with hard times these guys have done a great job in setting the tone for the upcoming seasons. Leading by example is something not everyone can do, but we have some great seniors on this team that have done just that this past spring, summer, and current season. Thanks fellas.
  10. So with Holt being out that probably means that Koeler(sp?) will get alot more playing time. Fine with me, I have said several times this week that our O will completely dominate the TOP. All the D has to do is come up with a stop or two and this ones in the bag. I know I shouldn't be so confident about beating the mildcats but with Bo at the helm and this team playing with some confindence against a team they dismantled last season when we were at our worst, I just don't see us losing this game. KSU is that bad.
  11. Is that physically possible? Is the human neck stronger than the multiple steel pins that hold the facemask on to a helmet?? I mean to say, the guy's head didn't come off???? Lucky for him. And good thing he was wearing a helmet.
  12. Completely agree with it. Make these kids work their asses off day in and day out. As for messing with tradition, no. I have read several articles over the years of coaches taking away a certain player's Blackshirt because they weren't performing or they slacked off in practice. Drilling it into these kids' brains that letting up or not giving 110% is unacceptable is a good thing. I remember awhile back Matt Davison talking in the pregame about being deathly affraid of Jason Peter. Matt said that when he was a freshman during practice one day that a guy was slacking off. Jason had enough of it and knocked the guy down, stood on his chest, and ripped the facemask off of the guys helmet and told him that they didn't slack off at Nebraska. Matt said that the reason he ran so fast was because he pictured Jason Peter chasing him. Classic.
  13. I'm very happy for Suh and the D-line as a whole. It's awsome to finally see some of the kids playing up to their potential. Hopefully Suh stays around another year. Suh will be a Top 25 draft pick barring injury when he is finished here.
  14. NU will show up ready to play, dominate the time of possession, and be very stingy on defense. NU wins big time.
  15. To person who wrote this letter: SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE! Nebraska football is about a blue collar, hardworking lifestyle. Not some corporate popularity contest. He's a football coach not a presidential candidate. You were probably one of the many "fans" that said we needed a coach with fire and passion that could get these kids to play hard, well guess what! These kids are playing hard, these kids are playing with passion. Everyone wants to point out the number of personal foul penalties this season, if I remember correctly in the glory days of the mid '90s it seemed like our Blackshirt defense got about 1 a game. They said it was their way of sending a message to the other team, by the way defenses are supposed to be nasty and mean. Defense isn't about making a gentle tackle, helping the guy up, and giving him a hug. If you don't like the way Bo does things then take your money to Ohio State and support the only straight man left in the midwest that wears a sweater vest. I will be right here, supporting Bo and watching him grow into top notch coach.
  16. Whoa. Western Michigan is 8-2 and 5-1 in the MAC. Their only other loss is to a Central Michigan team that just beat Indiana. Their starting to look like a pretty respectable "cupcake" team. They are a solid team, but I think beating Kansas at this stage in the season is more impressive than that win. Would NU beat them if they played them now? I think we would. With the groove the O is in right now, it would be hard for them to keep us from moving the chains. We would eat up clock and our D-line would be in their QB's face all day.
  17. I'm sure Coach Pelini has spoken to Mr. Norman and carefully explained to him that this type of behavior will not be tolerated at Nebraska. Anyone know who recruited him? From what has been seen so far with Pelini, I would image that this staff would not take a lot of lip from a player. Tough love, if the rumors are true with this kid, could be just what this kid needs to reach is real potential. I just can't see a player getting away with mouthing off to Bo or Ekeler.
  18. Nice game KU, hard fought win for the CORNHUSKERS!
