Riley coached at USC from 93-96. Orgeron was from 98-04 and 10-13. Thought I read somewhere that they knew each other from USC. My apologies, you guise I read that also, but it's incorrect. I heard Riley say he didn't know Orgeron, but they did share an agent.

Can you cite an example where an established coach went to a different school and didn't take members of his staff? I am interested and I expect that list to be either quite short or non-existent. Until then, calm down.

They are all I-N-S-A-N-E-!!!!!!!! To believe that they were left out because they are a christian school is the epitome of ridiculous. I actually don't think they are insane, I think there is something to it. Especially how DHS calls christians terrorists on their websites nowadays, and how obama's ring that he always wears says "there is no god but allah" We would be very naive to believe that politics dont play into these decisions. I think 90% of it is political to be honest I'll bet you ten million dollars that they don't declare "Christians" to be terrorists, but identify Christian terror groups who, I don't know, kill doctors in church. OSU's line hasn't been very good under Cavanaugh. He's not a good recruiter and false starts are a problem for his lines too. Sound familiar?

Oregon State's radio guy is ripping on Banker right now on 1620. Ripped Cavanaugh too. OSU's O-line hasn't been good lately either and Banker can't stop the spread. Exactly what Beaver fans have whined about for years now.

They are maybe THE most pass happy attack in CFB. His O-Line is consistently top 5 to top 10 in Pass protection. Didn't OSU set a record for pass attempts in a game this year?not sure about that but it will be interesting who he picks for an OC so we can get an idea of what kind of offense to expect, personally I don't think Riley having a June Jones like game plan will work very well in the cold weather big 10 He had two NFL QBs running the show in Sean Glennon and Sean Mannion. The guy tailors his offense to the personnel he has. He was much more run heavy when he had Steven Jackson at OSU. I wouldn't worry about it. Glennon didn't go to OSU. As for their running game, their backs aren't good at all. Storm Woods and the other guy stink. Did OSU set a record for pass attempts? No, you're thinking WAZZU.

Recruiting to Corvallis is far more difficult when you take into consideration the town, facilities, fan support and other resources. Lincoln is going to be easier to recruit to. I understand. But when you look at the level of recruits they were after at corvallis compared to what we need to win championships here. It's a leap. Let us not forget that they are a few hours from California, and we have limited number of quality recruits in the 500 mile radius. A few hours by jet. Corvallis is 510 miles from Sacramento. There aren't many folks in California north of Sacramento.

Take a look at who has the NFL combine record for benching 225 lbs and what school he came from. its not just strength, its endurance.....and mental toughness. I know, the Big 10 is better than the Pac 12 in every aspect. I don't even know what the Pac 12 doesn't just fold. The stomping Michigan State put on Oregon was amazing. Out physicalled them and everything. I'll even bet the top 6 teams in the Big 10 would have run away with the Pac 12 title. Listen guys. The Big 10 is considered the worst power 5 conference. It's not ten years ago and the Pac 12 isn't the weak conference you think it is.

Of course he's going to bring members of his staff. This happens in every coaching hire. That said, the Banker move is bad, bad, bad. The other guys are actually quite good.

Banker is horrible. He hasn't stopped a running QB in years and that's counting Sacramento State and Eastern Washington. Defense was expected to be a strength this year with 9 senior starters and they stunk instead. It has been reported Banker was not going to be retained by Riley after this season. If he comes to UNL as the DC, I will not be happy.

I saw that. They did just win the Pac 12 title after all. First one for both. I don't see the Riley/Frost thing working. They run vastly different systems and Riley is his own OC. Riley said that we was not totally married to his offense system, just some parts. I can't imagine a guy whose ran a pro set his whole life going to a fast, zone-read scheme. It would be totally out of character for him.

Alabama was on probation, I believe, at the time as well.

What I remember about that game is Miami jumped out to a big lead and shut it down. I was impressed they didn't run up the score and embarrass us. They easily could have.

There may be one saving grave for those who want Frost. Oregon has tons of studs returning, but nothing even remotely decent at the QB position. Nothing. Frost may see that as a reason to jump. Then again, it'll be his opportunity to bring back some power football as UO has a nice stable of RB's.
