  1. Good stuff, thanks for the post! Getting excited moving forward
  2. As far as money am I in the minority thinking that we are going to spend a lot of money on supporting cast and get a rock star staff together?
  3. Still just a little creepy to me, but exciting to see I suppose.
  4. Makin a grown man weap. When I initially got a two word text stating "mike riley" this morning I was, as many others, taken aback and perhaps a little disappointed. Somewhat familiar with Riley at OSU, I began to slowly absorb the news and throughout the day have become quite excited. One thing is for sure, this guy knows football. Heck, his dad was a coach long before even before this guy was a thought. He's been a head coach before any of his players were even on the world. He's coached on every level in many different systems. Secondly, I think he's the type of guy we need around here. Perhaps to help huskernation heal a little and get excited about what husker football can be and not worrying about how it will fail. Most importantly though I believe he is a guy who knows how to develope talent and good kids and has a long track record of bringing lesser boys into men of their own playing great football. Seeing this quote put a smile on my face and by golly got me a little excited about what's to come. I think coach riley will be a wonderful addition to the tradition that is nebraska. Time for a beer and a GBR!
  5. That's one of the thoughts I had earlier. I was curiously pondering whether Fyfe might be a better fit than TA (not trying to stir the pot)
  6. Give me some Carl pelini...I said ir
  7. Beck out Carl in joh puppy papuchis demoted or gone and a new OC and I'd be ok
  8. Happy with the win, great 2nd half. Not trying to be a Debbie but my gosh: Didn't learn as much as confirm tonight that we cannot defend an out route to the flats to save our first born. So aggregating. Otherwise, solid 2nd half. Also really enjoyed necks game plan for the first quarter had it been executed (dropped balls, hesitations) Also noted that Tommie has a tendency to freeze if he keeps the ball on a zone read. He never seems to take off and really expose the edge like he could. It's like he stands there one half second too long.
  9. I don't think the defense's emotional state was in question at the beginning of the game. They were out for blood early. The offense right from the get go however was stale to say the least. From the first series the entire defense looked bewildered...I've never seen abdullah or armstrong look so hopeless on the sidelines. That's what truly got me jazzed (and 3 beers deep real real fast). How are you not just aboslutely jacked out of your mind for this game?! If I, some 700 miles away, have a bloodlust for spartan obliteration, how can a player with an N on the side of their noggan have no emotion
  10. Not to mention wisky which atm looks like may fall
  11. Offense: Tommy with the QB run. I'm thinking with the key in on AA- Tommy with QB run and newby & bell on sweeps. It'll be interesting to watching Beck's plan. Defense: Kalu, gonna step up with a pick to change momentum today. Special Teams: Drew brown with a long one - 45+yard field goal
  12. I JUST WANT TO WIN. I GIVE TWO CRAPS WHERE IT PUTS US IN THE POLLS. Agreed...the game just needs to be played now. It's been excrutiating!
  13. The fact that if we were to beat MSU and not likely be in the Top 10 really bothers me. At this point I think it's unlikely we would jump 9 spots with one win and I can appreciate that to a certain degree, but the fact that a 6-0 team with a ranked win, and a top 10 (5) offense and solid defense is a little ridiculous. Maybe I'm in a fishbowl a little bit? Idk
  14. Good interview. I'm still cautiously optimistic but it feels like there is a much better maturity with this team. One where words are being backed up with actions. I honestly feel like tonight's game will be very telling of this teams disposition. If we come out strong with a nasty attitude tonight like we should then ill drink the kool aid hard but I'm still just cautious based on years past trends.
  15. That gif will haunt my dreams and my children's dreams forever
  16. One thing I really liked in particular about that 3 GIF is the pass protection. Abdullah is sent up for protection and ends up just kind of standing there with no one to team on since the line pretty much put everybody away.
  17. I was actually impressed with roach today. I thought he played well during his time out. Sound football and a lot of hussle even while up by 35+. Maybe not a big day, but stood out to me
  18. As I am at work, I saddly don't have time to contribute. Just thought I'd stop by to tell you guys thanks for a good laugh, and that I'm suprised at how accurate those are! Cheers
  19. Patently false. http://culturecrossfire.com/sports/football/chalk-dust-xs-and-os-examining-tom-osbornes-i-formation-offense/#.U7L9EDi9KSM Kind of hard to read on when the first sentence says he coached at UNO
  20. Perhaps more elequently put than my ramble, and you include actual examples...well said though. All this talk about flying families to games? Paying for students to go home? Are you kidding me? My sister pays $600 for plane tickets every holiday, and is a full academic scholarship at marquette. Where's her reimburssment? the only argument that I hold valid is some type of better medical care rather than just immediate injuries and rehab. I'm talking in regards to concussions etc.
