  1. Who do you consider the greatest defensive mind in college football today?

  2. Taking one of my boys to his first real Husker game against Iowa (he has gone to the last 3 Spring Games).  He was excited to hear that Nebraska will actually be playing another team, and even more excited to hear it is against Iowa.  Now for "the sad": he isn't sure if he wants to wear red or black.  This is a big game for the future of my household, Mr. Riley!!!

I gave you a +1 because your Rep was sitting at "666" and that number gives me the willies.

  4. Looks like MR will finish his :bigredn: career 19-19.  .500!!

  5. Does anyone else have a wife/significant other, who is constantly watching the Lifetime movie channel?

Teach, I swear those Christmas movies on hallmark are a aphrodisiac (sp?) During this time of year is when it's awesome because the wife is the one pouncing!

I honestly can't remember. I must have been drunk. I remember seeing it happen but I don't remember where I was.

  7. First time you tried a cigarette?  I don't smoke but when I was like 10 I tried a puff of my grandma's cig when she went to the kitchen...tried one more in high school.  That was it for me!

First cig was in college. I was 20.

Smoked them while I drank. Only had 1 when I was sober. They suck. Unless you're drinking.

  8. If we can't get Scott Frost, I hope we give McElwain a hard look.

This would satisfy the group of people that think experience is more important than a youthful players coach

  9. NU’s time messing around by not sending Riley out the door is going to cost them Frost. Forever.

I just want it done before there’s any possible way of winning out and retaining MR. I HATE the style of football NU currently plays. Plus the soft mentality.

I seriously think NU will beat NW and Minny, then MR gets his signature win he’s not supposed to vs PSU, then beat Iowa to end the year. Put NU in a horrible spot. Fire him now you don’t have to worry about it

  10. Trying to picture a 30-pounds-heavier version of Tristan Gebbia running Scott Frost's offense. Hmm...

It doesn't matter where most of his strength was. Throwing it 62 feet means you are a dude, and put together very well.

Jurgens from Beatrice doesn't even throw it 60 ft

It's not like Frost came in tiny. He threw the shot put 62 ft in HS.

How's that working out for Michigan?

Harbaugh also failed at the 49ers after taking them to the super bowl.

  15. I have never been so excited for a season to end. Oregon's basically done. NU is just waiting to fire Riley (thank god). I really want Frost to be the coach at NU. After that, I've got a handful of guys that I think would be great options but are more risky.

Dave Doeren, Matt Campbell, Jason Candle, Mike Norvell, or Philip Montgomery. I still think that Bob Davie would be a nice guy to have too but he's up there in age. I love Davie's scheme they run at New Mexico

  17. I wonder if Bo's 'toxic' culture has had a deeper impact than I expected. I have friends that are very anti Bo/pro Riley. Whenever a Bo recruit did something wrong he always linked it back to Bo's toxicity. I.E. Wilbon not playing because he 'wasn't a good pass blocker' and Gerry not going to class. I wonder if people were so anti Bo that they disconnected themselves from the reality that we are currently in, hanging onto any thread of hope that Riley will be 'the guy' just because it got rid of the toxic environment.

I think it's just the expectations of the 80's and 90's carrying over into a completely different era. There's no reason to go to NU like there was back in the day. It's not even about the 85 scholarships. It's about TV, literally every program has access to TV or web streaming. All the way down to freaking Chadron State. NU was one of a handful of programs that got to be televised.

I hated Bo from that moment at TAMU on, and I was glad to see him get canned. It's too bad it had to happen when the Huskers went 9-3. Then Eichorst made it about expectations on the field instead of mannerisms. Makes it hard for people to want to come here. I just think part of that is the program entitlement that comes from the fans through social media. I'd be willing to be called out for not being fair as well.

  19. Just came to the realization that Jonathon Taylor is only a freshman. We get the honor and privelage of watching him run all over us for three more years. Finally get rid of Borland and Fumagalli, but this kid will just step in a take their place as a Husker killer.

The most likely losses are OSU, PSU and Wisc....

and even though I don't think they lose all 3 of those, there are other iffy's on the schedule....Purdue, Minnesota, and Iowa

  22. Historically Iowa is at there best in week 12 because, let's face it, there is a strong chance it's their last game.  We may never lose to them again if we play them early enough in the year when they are terrible, see last week.

and they haven't gotten in at 5-7 since they started letting those teams in. Letting in 5-7 squads wasn't a big thing until the last 2 years (ish).

  23. We should make a deal with Kansas to play us every Black Friday.  Proximity is close, old Big 8 series.  And, we could get that much needed final win of the year 19 times out of 20.

Oregon/Oregon State have been played forever on the last weekend. Oregon isn't lobbying to soften up the schedule.

The way it was put, Redux, sounded more like you wanted a creampuff to play the final week of the year. The difference is one is established already...the other isn't
