  1. Collins wouldn't have been accepted into Stanford based on academics, or his ACT/SAT score. He made the bare minimum to even be considered by Stanford, and his athletic abilities took over from there. REALLY??? He graduated with a 4.0 GPA if my memory serves me correctly from Westside HS. Where did you get your facts? If you have proof of such scores please post them for eveyone! OK, He left the team... He is also only 19 or 20. I for one wish him the best in anything he does in the future. Just because it didn't work out for him here doesn't mean he is a bad kid. 3.5 actually according to Rivals, he is an extremely smart kid. I know some people at his former school. Yes he did go to Westside HS in Omaha. Some people spout off at the mouth about a kid before they now anything about him. Sad to see him go, he is a good kid with a great attitude. Can't blame him, though. If you had the chance to go to Stanford for free when you know you aren't going to play pro ball, wouldn't you? Imagine his contacts out in the "real world" from a place like Stanford.
  2. This is a classic thread. Every single LB is mentioned in this thread except for the one that actually told Carl Pelini to Eff off. Dude, if you know either post it or don't. Whatever you want, but don't send out a teaser line like that and not finish.
  3. Not everyone drinks red kool aid..... I guess the Huskers would beat Miami also. Why would anyone want to go to school at Miami when you can go to Nebraska!!! Welcome troll.... let me show you to the bridge so you may live under it.
  4. I'm sure VT won't overlook it, but it's interesting that Beamer doesn't mention Lee's superior athleticism to Ganz. Not that Ganz was a statue, but if Zac can make a couple big plays with his feet when no one gets open against that D, it could be the difference in the game from last year. Not a knock on Lee (and obviously my mancrush for the Ganzinator has not completely wore off yet), but Ganz was a pretty good runner as well. Yes at times he was erratic with his passes, but he could tuck and run when he needed to. We have only 2 games vs. weaker defenses to guage Lee, lets see what happens after Beamer throws the kitchen sink at him. GBR Dude, this...... Lee is obviously a better athlete, even Ganz said so himself.
  5. Black won, are you implying that a B****** is coming? open the link That's pretty good!!!
  6. This post is utterly incorrect, Ron Prince was never coaching KSU when VY was at UT. VY's last season was '05, which I am absolutely sure they didn't lose to KSU since they went undefeated and won the MNC. VY was at the game, not playing. If that is really what he meant, then that has to be an epic fail in terms of all time posts. That has to be 7 of the top ten worst belonging to this poster....
  7. Dude, he's here. Don't know when he'll come out of there, though........
  8. I get it now, just Pat Forde is what we are worried about?
  9. Dude, Mack Brown has been there for 12 years. He has won a National Championship and a conference Championship. He has won at least 9 games every year, and won 10 games the last 8 seasons. I really hope you aren't claiming to be a Husker fan, because every post you've ever made on here would point to you being and oSu fan. BTW, all that crapped that you spewed about oSu earlier and their greatness....how's that working out????? It looks to me we are #19..... http://espn.go.com/ncf/powerrankings?season=2009&week=2
  10. Ok, so we've learned in this thread..... 1. Democrats are for rich, old people. Man, who are all the young, poor people involved in the Democrat Party. 2. College Students drink alcohol, holy shiet! That a new one. 3. We have to have a pissing contest about which fan is more important!?! BTW, it is not the State of Nebraska's football team, it is the UNIVERSITY of Nebraska's football team. 4. Maybe we should quit worrying about being the classiest fans in all of CFB and maybe go by what the signs say..... I don't see classiest, I see greatest.
  11. Curenski Gilleyan, didn't see him being this involved in the offense. Also didn't think he could catch a cold before! Glad to see it, though!
  12. Are you trying to tell me that Pelini showed up for an interview for the HC job of a major football program not wearing a suit? I guess I have trouble believing that one.
  13. This post is utterly incorrect, Ron Prince was never coaching KSU when VY was at UT. VY's last season was '05, which I am absolutely sure they didn't lose to KSU since they went undefeated and won the MNC.
  14. So this has nothing to do with Watson even making comments that the difference between the #1 and #2 QBs is quickly disappearing.. You're absolutely right, Green is terrible. Lets all go home and come back next year when Lee is even more seasoned than he is right now because Green will obviously never play. His redshirt wouldn't have been burned the first game if he wasn't going to play this season for considerable a considerable amount of time.. we also played LaTravis Washington in the first game who looked more than capable to be a back up QB.. Not a 10 win great QB, but capable to run plays and throw the ball. If we were merely worried about a backup to the starter, why even burn CG's rshirt and why not just prep Washington to take over Lee should he be injured? By your reasoning that is more logical for the program. Wow, okay....... #1-show me these comments from Wats, linky linky. Even if that is true, the gap was so wide that Lee was made the starter 3 days into camp. Easy to close that gap a little, huh? #2-show me where I said that Green is terrible, are you like 12 years old? #3-so, in your reasoning, we prepare the 3rd best QB in the system with game experience that way if Lee is out for the year right before Oklahoma or Kansas we can put in the #2 kid with no game experience up to this point and expect him to lead us to the North and B12 crown. We aren't preparing for the future anymore, BO WANTS TO WIN THEM ALL. #4-the bolded part, that isn't good enough for Bo and (this is why I think you are a little young) it was never good enough for TO. You see, grasshopper, if you don't think going in that the backup can win them all he isn't the backup. This isn't Bill Callahan's Nebraska anymore. Bo is done with the talent stockpiling. If they can play, they play be it 2nd string or not. Texas, USC, Florida, all the others top tier programs do it. That is what we want to become again. You ever heard of this guy Tim Tebow? He played every game as a freshman as a back-up and situational guy. Never started once. First year starting he wins the Heisman trophy. Burned his redshirt, didn't start. Now, tell me that I said Tebow was terrible, TO didn't know what he was doing, and that I think BC is the greatest coach in the history of the program. Go ahead, you made sh1t up the last post.

  16. I just don't think you understand how a top program would handle a special player that they saw taking over the program. You go through fall practice. If you think this top player who has 4 yrs of eligibity and a bright future is not capable of being a starter you REDSHIRT HIM. If you are undecided about his ability to be a starter you: KEEP WATCHING BUT KEEP THE REDSHIRT ON UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NEEDED AFTER A QB GOES DOWN. You would never lift his redshirt in the first game in a mopup role unless you thought he was in the mix for playing time this season and you were thinking he would compete for the starting job. You don't decide in the first game to let Green give up 1 yr of eligibilty to spend 2 yrs backing up Lee. You would wait. Bo didn't fall off a turnip truck. He has been watching this all summer. If he ripped the redshirt off of Green and he was too "green" to play this year or didn't know enough plays to contribute, Bo should be a poster instead of a coach. Bo is a coach. He has plans for Green to contribute in a very meaningful way--I would bet start or be a part of a package that is used in important situations to open up a defense and prevent stopping our traditional offense. Bo sensed a need in the offense for this true freshman to be ready to play THIS YEAR and NEXT YEAR or he would not have made an uneeded decision in a blowout first game to cut this talented kid's stay with the Big Red by a year. It's really that simple. Misery burned Gabbert's shirt because they knew he would be starting this year. But they would have never burned his shirt if Daniels had been a Jr nor would any other Div. 1 coach. I would wager you cannot find another 4* freshman who had his shirt burned in the first game to backup a QB with 2 yrs to play. By the time conference season is well underway I would bet that we are like USC riding the shoulders of a talented true freshman QB. I could be wrong, but the logic is all on that side. No offense to Zac who had a good game at FAU and to those Big Red fans who think he will lead us the next two years. I assume we all want what Bo is keyed in on. What is the best player we can put on the field to give us a chance to win. I'd bet on Bo. Actually, you are completely wrong. Did you ever think that we don't have another QB on the roster even remotely good enough to play in the Big 12? I think that is the case and because of Kody Spano's injury the coaches had their hands forced to play the back up in case Lee goes down for the season with an injury. Wow, some people really stretch with their reasoning about things. BTW, ever heard of this guy Bradford? He won the Heisman, got hurt, OU didn't have anybody ready with real game action to replace him, they lost to BYU. THAT IS WHY YOU PREPARE YOUR BACKUP, NOT BECAUSE YOU THINK HE IS GOING TO ALL OF THE SUDDEN UPROOT YOUR STARTER. Jesus Christ, I have a headache in my eye from the bullsh1t being spewed on here over Green because of 1 play against a tired, beaten down SUN BELT team.
  17. They did not have a TO left after the PI call that gave them the first down. You can't run the ball there b/c if you don't get it the game is over.
  18. Absolutely not. We are Nebraska, gimmicks like that are unnecessary here. Frankly it is nearly blasphemy to even bring an idea like that up.
  19. Indeed, sir. Let me ask you guys a question...more anticipation: the start of football season, or Christmas? I'll take the first, any day! Ummmmm...the answer would be football season. Bingo! I'm gunna get my suit! It's the first quarter of the big game and you wanna toss up a hailmary? I'd like to be pimps from Oakland or cowboys from Arizona but it's not Halloween. Grow up Peter Pan! Count Chocula! Look we've been to a million weddings and you know what? We've rocked them all. -or- I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there you're wondering "Do I have food on my face? Am I eating? Am I talking too much? Are they talking enough? Am I interested? I'm not really interested. Should I play like I'm interested? But I'm not that interested, but I think she might be interested. But do I want to be interested, but now she's not interested, so now all of a sudden I'm getting--I'm started to get interested." And when am I supposed to kiss her? Do I have to wait for the door 'cause then it's awkward? It's like, well, "Goodnight. Do you do like the ass-out hug? Where you like, you hug each other like this and the ass sticks out because you're trying not to get too close or just go right in and kiss them on the lips or don't kiss them at all?" It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while your just really want to know are we going to get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions. And perhaps play a little game called just the tip, just for a second, just to see how it feels, or "Ouch, ouch, you're on my hair." Wedding Crashers rules!!!
  20. These are just the players drafted that started on that '95 team: Grant Wistrom, DE, St. Louis * $ Jason Peter, DT, Carolina * $ Ahman Green, RB, Seattle Aaron Taylor, OG, Indianapolis Michael Booker, CB, Atlanta * $ Jared Tomich, DE, New Orleans * Mike Minter, S, Carolina * Adam Treu, OT, Oakland * Chris Dishman, OT, Arizona Jamel Williams, LB, Washington Eric Stokes, FS, Seattle Lawrence Phillips, RB, St. Louis * $ Tyrone Williams, CB, Green Bay * Aaron Graham, C, Arizona Christian Peter, DT, New England Doug Colman, LB, New York Giants Tony Veland, FS, Denver * denotes 1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks $ denotes 1st round picks Oh, and also this comment: "Ralph Brown vs. Andre Johnson is absolutely ignorant. Ralph Brown was a Freshman in 1996, so that show you might be a bit of a 'Cane fan more so than the Huskers, huh? Veland played linebacker on that team, so the starting defense had ALL FU[CKING 11 PLAYERS DRAFTED TO PLAY IN THE NFL. FS-Eric Stokes SS-Mike Minter CB-Tyrone Williams CB-Michael Booker LB-Tony Veland LB-Jamel Williams LB-Doug Colman or Farley (would have definately been NFL without suspension, they split starts) DE-Jared Tomich DT-Christian Peter DT-Jason Peter DE-Grant Wistrom 3 first rounders started that game on defense and all 11 were drafted, not to mention free agent signings of others that played. On offense you had: 4 out of 5 lineman (Dishman, Treu, Graham, Taylor), Ahman Green and Lawrence Phillips, and Sheldon Jackson were drafted. Jeff Makovica (sp?) and Eric Anderson OT played in the NFL and they had this other guy at QB.....what was his name again? That is 8 out of 11 (didn't count Frazier, and didn't count both running backs.) K was Kris Brown, P was Jesse Kosch both STILL in the NFL. So the grand total is 21 out of 24 starting positions that night were drafted or played in the NFL. That doesn't include one of the two best running backs in NU history and probably the entire decade for all CFB. Most importantly, it doesn't include the best player, QB Tommie Frazier. Nobody brings that up when they talk about NFL talent in this argument. Do they?
  21. Ground breaking stuff sip... Your kidding, if a good major BSC team plays a avg Sun Belt team and is able to presure the QB, not give up big plays & not turn the football over they should win by 21 or so points. Well no s**t sherlock... Exactly what I was thinking!
  22. Well, I don't think it is difficult to understand. Pokemon is for kids, doesn't mean I have to like that show, does it? Lil' Red is beyond stupid. I have hated it since we got it, I hope every week that Herbie just beats the sh1t out of him and ruins that stupid outfit. I actually hoped that the Sooner Schooner would run it over, not hurting the person inside but ruining the ribbed-for-her-pleasure Trojan outershell of that stupid FU[KING thing. There, easier to understand our opinion now?
  23. Thats great company. I think Watson is a brilliant coach that was just over shadowed by the ignorance of callahan. I was very surprised he didn't become a HC after last season. I am curious to which job he is looking at. I do not know what college he went to but I wonder if he's waiting on the aTm job, it will probably open up after this year. Just so everyone is clear, my was for the comment that the LSU offense is what led them to the MNC in '07, not that Watson doesn't deserve this list. He does, Nick Saban is generally a good judge of talent. Not the most loyal employee, ole Mr. Saban, but nevertheless........
  24. Are those the same analysts like that tard over at Big 12 sports who wrote that MU won a close one against Nevada last year? Dont get me wrong Fuzzy, I like Nevada's team. I think they will be pretty good. But lets not forget that MU's 3rd string dominated Nevada. The score was 69-17, not 35-28. Anything can happen, but I for one, am not too spooked about that game Not good at numbers, is he?
  25. I guess I have never read something that was so positive and shed a light on our culture like this from an outsider. Especially the KC Star. This is a great feel good story, and made my day! Thanks for sharing, man.
