  1. Tuff Tiger Also, the rabbit's name is Oolong That's it! Dang I used to love reading his posts. They sorta made sense after enough Johnny Walker Black Label. And who the hell named the rabbit, and why wasn't I told? I'm going to the mods about this.
  2. While I wish Bo would have a less angry countenance, he is what he is. I was thoroughly pissed at his comments after the IA game, and still am. HOWEVER, I am like you guys.....an outsider looking in. To me, the most precise answer to Bo and his demeanor comes from those who have to live with it.......the players. Even the most rabid Bo-haters have to acknowledge that the players love him and are pretty emphatic about their loyalty to him. That, right there, speaks volumes to me, and so I don't give a flying f#*k what talking heads, members of other fan bases or even people on this board think. If the players have that kind of love for Bo-----and they see him at his best and worst-----then I can live with it. And I'm adding the pancake rabbits just because I miss that loon who was a Mizzou fan who used to post here......what was his name? :moreinteresting
  3. I might ordinarily agree with you, but you can't ignore the putrid weather conditions which, BTW, affected both teams' receptions. Want proof? UGA fans have worn down their molars gnashing their teeth over their team's dropped passes. If the wx was good and we dropped those balls I'm with you. Given the circumstances.......
  4. UG's time outs in the second half. I didn't understand how they carried two TOs until the last part of the game. In the second half, they burned a TO by challenging for a safety on Tommy. Then, their QB called one because he didn't like the play called against NU's defense. Those were in the 3rd quarter, but ESPN showed them carrying two TOs well into the fourth quarter. What did I miss? Oh, and since an Irish celebratory jig doesn't translate well in chat..... :corndance :corndance :corndance :corndance :corndance :corndance
  5. Are you saying some folks would be pissed off if we won this game? Why? To the extent that it undermines their non-stop anti-Pelini diatribes, yes, they would not be happy. If you can't fathom that, that's a good thing. Try finding ONE positive thread that isn't ultimately derailed by an anti-staff remark.....and for the record I am not pleased with how the staff (and Pelini) handled matters in the Iowa game.
  6. I am pulling for NU to win this one because I can't wait to see how pissed the haters are going to be. (This is the point where the haters all profess how much they love DONU and are glad they won, but it can never be better under Pelini.) I'm kind of ambilvalent about Pelini at this point, but it will warm my heart in the coming cold months to know how pissed off the haters are going to be for another year.
  7. Spoken like a couple of psych majors with no money or actual influence. Speak for yourself, but you are not apart of the "we" who matters. If you have any sense of irony the bolded ought to stagger you.
  8. Rumor has it DONU won today. With a third string QB And a MASH unit for an offensive line And a very young defensive unit And hobbled WRs (Bell, Turner, Westerkamp) And without the only senior in the interior of the Dline But hey, continue with the agenda. Sorry the win today conflicted with it.
  9. The dog wagging the tail is never a good sign. When the players start to tell the coaches what to do, there is something significantly wrong. The coaches are supposed to know what to do, know what to call, know the defensive strategy, know the match ups, know the player groupings, etc. If the players have to tell the coaches, it is a sign that the coaches really do not know what they are doing. Which, in this case, may very well be the case. This happens in most programs. Bo get's called bull-headed because he doesn't listen to anyone. Bo gets called out for asking his players for input. The guy cannot win.
  10. To the OP: If one grants your premise, consider this..... You are a top-tier coach, and NU approaches you for the HC job. You look at how NU has treated two of its last three coaches.....Frank Solich has a 9-3 season. His reward is to be fired. Bo Pelini has consistently produced no less than 9 wins over six seasons, runs a clean program, has Academic All-Americans out the wazoo. He had to deal with a change of conferences and the resulting change of recruiting personnel emphasis. His reward is to be fired. You know that you are a hot commodity as a coach, so you ask yourself "Why in God's name would I take that job? If I have a couple of bad seasons ala Bob Devany in 67 and 68, do they fire me?" Mull on that for a while before postulating on the "inevitability" of a coaching change.
  11. Moss and Gregory had great games, but give Ankrah some love. Had a good game.
  12. I was most proud of Bo consoling the three NW players on the field. Don't think other coaches miss that kind of stuff.
  13. Good to hear from you Fro. Not apropos to this thread, but is it wrong to want Bama to win (and I don't want them to 3-peat) because I despise Bulimia (don't correct me on the name) so much?
  14. When confronted with the following admittedly awkward statement: "Ross Els said Nebraska had a slightly less-coordinated plan of which players to visit this week vs. the first bye week, when NU visited all of its top prospects." ....one can come to two probable conclusions, one with the statement taken in no context and the other with the statement in context: Els is saying the the staff is kind of blindly going around randomly calling on people across the country in the hope that they encounter a high school student who is male who plays football and is good at football who fits a position of need on the team who is academically qualified and not a character risk OR 2. Els is saying that this recruiting class does not require the manic, sleeping in the airport, not seeing the family pace of recent classes. Hmmmmm........ If you're disposed to dislike Pelini and all things Pelini, you leap to choice 1 like a Kansas City hooker on a five dollar bill. If you are capable of reading something in context, you select choice 2. Jeez

  16. Peed down their leg......again. :flush
  17. Hope this is first-game jitters, cuz MS is not impressing me.

  19. Don't understand what dad was thinking if Zach was concussed, or even possibly concussed, earlier. I coach two Under 12 girls soccer teams and concussion education is required. Cardinal rule: if you suspect a player may be concussed they immediately come off the field, are evaluated by a professional and if concussed they are not allowed to play. I have to assume Rick did not think Zack had an issue earlier.
  20. Thats great.. wouldn't this go in the recruiting section? Just wondering I thought about it, but we're not recruiting him.

  22. +1 to you sir!! Unless you actually listen to phone calls, you shouldn't judge whether a recruit has been offered or not. Sometimes a single faceplam just doesn't suffice.....
  23. Living overseas I like the early game times. I have no clue what early game times can/won't do for recruiting. I agree with you on this, I am living in England and it drives me CRAZY waiting for kickoff!! On the other hand I want as many recruits at a game as possible!! Where r u Navysker? I live in Italy. Right outside of naples. Naples.....ugh. Crime, gypsies, dirty city compared to the rest of Italy. I spent some time at NAS Signonella in Sicily. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. navysker, try to get a SpaceA trip there. Well worth it. You too, Jamrinelli. As long as you're in the area.......And thanks for your service guys. Much appreciated.
  24. Go to 1:10. Try to tell me you don't get that urge to hit summin'
