  1. awesome idea! Can I film/photograph a working diorama, showing what I WOULD do if I could? No? Ok, I'll just sit back and watch everyone else's greatness at work.
  2. Here's another work of art from the Spider writer. I'd copy it here, but you have to see the nice picture to get the full affect. Thanks for all the gut busting laughs from this thread! I haven't gotten to Drowning's link yet, but has potential for more hilarity!
  3. Sadly I mostly agree with this. I'm not sure where the sense of entitlement comes from. I think a lot of us are sensible, but that kool-aid does flow pretty freely. I drink a lot of it myself (tasty stuff, you should try it ), because I'm finally thinking our future is pretty bright, but there's such a long way to go yet. However I will disagree that we have been one of the most irrelevant teams. Plenty of people still have some leftover venom. But, had we continued with what we had going the past 6-7 years, you'd be right eventually. We'd be relegated to Syracuse type status by some point.
  4. #50 Grand Island Product, Kurt Mann adding to my irresponsible prior post: OMG OMG -- I'm sorry Mr. Dave Rimington, you should have been on this list. Sorry, Kurt, I liked you, too, but, Dave just had more bang for the buck at #50! What the heck was I thinking?

  6. There has been a lot of speculation for quite awhile that he would NOT be with the team any longer, due to one or more off the field "incidents". http://www.kctv5.com/traffic/19132634/detail.html
  7. I dunno... I thing I prefer these QqGsxwQpa_g&feature And I was only 11...But I'm almost Positive Jeff Kinney used up his eligibilllllity back in '71.. Classic!
  8. #17 - removed -- whoops, former players only. sorry.
  9. ha, kind of, but I'm not all that convinced he's happy there. This is more like it:
  10. And with that, you've made my day! Time for the snoopy dance!
  11. While THE game is in Lawrence, each of our teams still play 7 other conference games. A lot of people have Nebraska winning the North, but losing to Kansas in Lawrence. The reason that Kansas isn't the clear cut favorite outright is because of 3 of those other 7 games are predicted losses by most talking heads.
  12. My point wasn't that Miles isn't a good recruiter and knows nothing. My point was that Carter knows, too, and I gather he doesn't care for that tactic being used on him.
  13. Not a Paterno appologist but - most of the time of Joe Pa's tenure PennSt was an independent. Kind of hard to win a title when you are not in a conference. By his choice, he's happy beating the Temples, Akrons and Coastal Carolinas of the college football world. And his record shows that. Most of his career has been the proverbial Big fish in a little pond. I once gave a Penn State fan a hard time about playing Temple every year and was informed that it wasn't their choice. The state has apparently "mandated" that they have to play Temple. Their choice would have been the other instate D1 university, Pitt, in that situation, however the agreements could never be reached. So, that's one cupcake explained away, but what about the rest of them?
  14. I'd be thrilled with a series with Clemson, especially since it's closer to me than most away games and I could easily drive there and back.
  15. They are starting to improve on it, with South Florida last year, @UTEP and Southern Miss this year, @Southern Miss and Georgia Tech next year... and so on. I'm not exactly thrilled with our own schedule next year. I can just hear it now. "You only got to where you are because of the cupcake OOC schedule". And, those people may be right. Anyway, back on topic: I really wouldn't mind a round robin, but they'd have to kick out a couple of teams - no one should have 11 conference games every year. So, it will just never work in the Big 12.
  16. I think he is already tired of it. He's obviously not an idiot, Les, he knows exactly what you're doing. I hope it bites Miles in the butt at this point.
  17. I just saw something like that a few weeks ago, and can't for the life of me figure out where. But, here is something to tide you over in the meantime while I try to recall where I found the other thing I was thinking of. http://football.stassen.com/cgi-bin/record...aska&sort=a
  18. That was the first thing I noticed, too, but all the helmets are 'throw-backs'. To answer the actual question, I don't know where they got them, or if they created them on their own.
  19. I am absolutely going to agree with you on this one - it was a thing of beauty. I wonder if Bo/Wats kept that potential gem for sometime down the road.
  20. jayhawker - I think you've been asked not to use the term 'Nub' here before. I am kindly asking, one more time, that you refrain from using that term. This isn't a Kansas forum, nor is the term necessary anywhere on our forum. TIA
  21. There are some flight options listed in this thread: http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34015 I guess you have to weigh airfare to Roanoke versus airfare to a larger airport + rental car. If you fly into Roanoke (closest to Blacksburg), I'm not sure how expensive it is, but Hokieluv has let me know about a bus that goes from the airport to Lane Stadium for cheap. (Thanks again, Hokieluv!) So, if you found a place to stay near the airport, or that had a shuttle to/from, you wouldn't need to worry about any transportation other than the flight.
