  1. Again, it's another thing that simply boils down to Bo's responsibility to fix. Still hasn't happened. The madness continues...
  2. This is a good point. That line was a sieve all game, and Taylor made several scrambles that saved sacks. But those were on passing plays. On run plays we repeatedly gashed that team. So why the hell didn't we run the ball more? Beck's lack of commitment to the run game was maddening. AA did have a fumble, but he was consistently moving the rock. He was the only thing consistently working so why not feed him? That and the dink passes Minnie was all over drove me nuts. Early in the game we ran option on 3rd and very long and it worked great, then later in the game we wouldn't run on 2nd and 8? Really Beck? As far as Bo goes on the news tonight they were all over playing TM and keeping him in there despite the foot still being an issue. As Lyons said TM wasn't really the issue. But maybe TA gives us a spark, and TM is still injured afterall. Beck panics when we are down on the scoreboard and tries to go all Broncos and make TMart into Peyton. It's one of those mind boggling traits that wants me to clean house on the coordinators, if not Bo as well.
  3. You're dead on. It's a systematic failure of the coaching staff to adjust the way they teach players to combat adversity in game. Bo continues to try to throw the same crap against the wall over and over again, and bless him for trying so hard, but his methods of preparation, whatever they may be, just aren't effective. He does not have a grasp on how to get the team ready every single week, manage ALL facets of the team, and get them to adjust better and swing the tide back, so to speak, when things aren't going our way. Thank you Coach Bo, I appreciate your effort. Best of luck wherever you may wind up, but the University of Nebraska needs to look in another direction.
  4. This assumes that they practice like they play in games. Many of us have had these discussions in the past, and though this is almost entirely speculation, the only way you know TM is capable of doing everything is if he shows it in practice. Do they do game simulations in practice? Do you put their players in enough game-type situations to monitor their physical abilities? The only way you take TM's word for it is if you don't have enough visual evidence to support any other conclusions. Again, that's almost purely speculative. But, you'd think coaches would have put TM in a position to do everything in practice that he would need to do in a game. Based on that performance they could make a more informed decision. So, they either felt TM was the best choice to win despite some obvious issues or they don't practice enough game type situations. It's kind of a moot point, Enhance. Regardless of what the coaches may or may not have been able to glean about Taylor's readiness from practice, the proof is in the pudding when we kick off Saturday. Why the hell did we leave him in there when our offense was floundering and he kept checking down on 3rd and long or tucking and taking a sack? We have one stubborn head coach, that's why. This thread is pretty epic so far.
  5. Taylor apologists claiming we would have been no better off with RKIII or TA in there because of the crappy line play need to SHUT UP. That's the same line we've trotted out there the majority of the last 3 games, and it did just fine in them. With RKIII and TA under center. Taylor, especially with multiple injuries, has the pocket presence of a lawn gnome. He's not going to go anywhere, and he's just going to give you that creepy stare when blitzed until he tucks and is thrown to the ground. Also, I suppose if Bo believed Taylor when he asked him if he was good to go, and Taylor lied, that's one thing. If he looked good in practice all week, fine. I could see buying it. But reports are we had a crap week in practice, and if Enunwa spoke up about it to Beck, it should've been very obvious. And failing to bench him when it was obvious the offense was a trainwreck Saturday falls under the category of "failing to adjust," a hallmark of Pelini teams. Why did we not do anything when the offense was clearly sputtering? It's not like your starter is set in stone. SO frustrated with this crap.
  6. So let's just cut the crap. Is Bo or Beck trotting Taylor out there even in the midst of injuries? The way I understand it... Bo is forcing Beck to start Taylor? Even though Beck possibly would rather go with TA/RKIII? If I am wrong, correct me. If I am right, that's a TERRIBLE look for this program and Bo as a head coach.

i agree with Lyons. Unless of course Bo is lying. But he said straight up Taylor told him he was ready to play.

The thing I wonder is what is Martinez doing in practice (or the others not doing)

that makes the staff believe he's the best option.

  7. Good lord, if Bo really is hitched to Taylor just to stick it to the fans at this point... IF that's the case... my lord, what a mess.
  8. If that's the case, it just sickens me that Bo just up and gave the green light to Taylor when the kid clearly was nowhere near 100%. What I imagine happened was Bo and/or Beck straight up asked Taylor if he felt he could go. Taylor, being about 70-80% but tired of missing out on game action, said yes, and the result is the craptastic showing we all saw yesterday on offense.
  9. Nick Saban is a freaking snake in the grass cheater and baby who will leave when he can't cheat to handpick his player$$$ and things don't come easy as cake. Let me ask you something, HB. I apologize if this has already been asked. People seem to think no major, elite coaches would be interested in coming to NU to coach our boys anymore. That would leave us with a less flashy, less sought after guy that might not on other teams shortlists. Is taking a shot on one of those type of guys honestly worse than continuing to get embarassed on national TV and CONTINUE to hear "This is ______ first ever win..." or "This is the most ____ given up since..." while Bo continues to hopelessly figure things out? ^^^ Objective? Not at all.
  10. I guess when it comes down to it, I use this as an overarching reason to explain to people why we were better off with TA or Kellogg under center yesterday (and likely always) than Taylor: Under TA and Kellog, we saw what the offense was capable. It ran, and it ran smooth, consistently. It ran with a few hitches (TA took his lumps in the Purdue game and looked like a frosh), but it actually flourished, for the most part. Under Taylor, when was the last time we actually saw that? For whatever reason, be it Beck going full Watstard, or Taylor himself, when he is in the game, our offense just seems prone to mistake-filled, ineffective offense that is occasionally boom but most often bust. It cannot sustain drives, and that literally saps the life out of the defense. How would you feel if you knew the offense was going to trot back out there, chuck three quick stupid-looking incompletions, and then punt? It makes it hard to do your job, knowing any points you give up are that much more crucial. Same deal applies to Bo. Why is it that even when we should dominate and impose our will on other teams, we continue to look clueless and fail in games that matter? You cannot use athleticism as an excuse on defense this year. Bo's got all of his handpicked recruits out there. And vice-versa on offense with Beck. And yet, we continue to sh*t the bed. Why is that? I can't pinpoint exactly why (I think perhaps it has to do with some combination of: poor teaching/communicating methods, poor preparation week in and week out regardless of opponent, and very very poor psychological attitudes and toughness in grit-it-out moments from Bo on down to everyone else), but for some reason we continue to underacheive very badly. It's very embarassing and Bo is losing more and more of his backers with every single damn loss. I have wanted to believe in him in the past. But I am done. After losing to damn MINNESOTA (again, say that out loud), I am done with Bo. I don't care if they're good this year (I know they are). It's MINNESOTA. Bring on the coaching search!
  11. If we have promising talent on defense, why the hell did it just get run over by Minnesota and why is it so damn hard to just line up in a base defense and PLAY? All the motion had our players scratching their heads, and no one had an answer. As far as I'm concerned, I'd be much more apt to take another shot on a coach who has a chance to come in and have success right away or very soon than to sit around twiddling our thumbs, waiting for Bo to finally figure things out. Inconsisitency has always been a hallmark of the Pelini era teams here, and it will continue to be for the foreseeable future, I think. I don't think Bo will likely put it all together for a long time, if he ever does, and thus we should sack the guy. Eichorst can find someone else to run a clean program. Between his angry outbursts his first few years and the tape scandal, he's embarassed our university enough. It's time for Bo to kick bricks. Why wasn't the team aware Minnesota was a good team? Who does that responsibility fall on? Loyalty means nothing if we keep underacheiving and the rest of the nation thinks we're a laughingstock mid-tiered team. There's a pervasive psychological problem that affects the entire team. It's been here since about 2011 (if not earlier... If I'm wrong please correct me). Our team is consistently hypersensitive to any type of bad events in-game, and it snowballs and makes it impossible to ever swing the tide. All the comebacks last year aside, why the F*#$ is this still a problem? It's a function of Bo being the head coach and not knowing how to change it. He may be able to change it, but it will take a LONG time, and I'm not sure he's got that much leash now. He's absolutely clueless right now.
  12. Is this craptastic offense on Beck or TMart?

  13. RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE.... RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE. That is all.
  14. Ohio State is the Big 10's bellcow, that's how.
  15. Love this dude's attitude. For as much crap as Pelini and co. get from some for recruiting (still...?), they sure have stocked the WR position well. Dang! TA or JS should have some playmakers when they take the reigns!
  16. Well, we shut down a garbage offense that was a home dog with a green Frosh QB making his first start ever. Hmmm... Color me... Still impressed. Still a great showing from the D today. Loved the intensity they brought, how they remained strong until the end of a the game (FINALLY, A COMPLETE GAME!!), and even the attitude SJB brought by laying that go the **** out. What a garbage rule. Players getting ejected on incidental contact on a total judgment call? What a sad, sad rule. But, my lord, what a bipolar bunch we are. Good God. Go back and read the defensive threads after the first 4 games. Holy cow. Quite the difference eh? Ready the "Fire Bo/He forgot defense/He's the wrong guy for the job" threads as soon as we give up double digits again. Yikes!
  17. Was expecting more explicit pictures. Leaving... disappointed.
  18. This is such a garbage rule. Period. I recognize the need to protect from concussions. Still a TRASH rule.
  19. I kind of have to disagree. I was thinking the exact opposite. Though I will definitely agree that the guard has an increased important in our offense with all the Power O and Toss Sweeps we run where he pulls. If there's one position you want to lose on your offense for an extended period of time, especially if it's at a deep position, it's an OG. Bummer though... we definitely will lose a strong leader on the field and hopefully the OL doesn't have too many problems communicating without him out there.
  20. Fantasy question... Dwayne Bowe vs. the Titans, Stephen Hill vs. the Falcons, or Terrence Williams (Miles Austin's replacement in Dallas) vs. Denver?
