  1. Ahh touche. I mixed up his dad being on Iowa and Indiana's staffs.
  2. If we force Denard to make some mistakes (which he's prone to do anyway), we win. Simple as that. They just scraped by their biggest rival (a bad, rather one dimensional Sparty) by 2 points on a last minute field goal. Obviously, Denard is better than Colter, but honestly if we employ a similar tactic to shut down Shoelace that we did Colter, we should win walking away. And THAT scares me.
  3. Curious timing, after they get knocked off by Navy... Oh well, to each their own.
  4. I'd rather have a DE try to come back from a broken leg than a LB. Barry Turner still did pretty well after his (much better than Fisher IMHO), even though he clearly wasn't the same afterwards. If not for the broken leg, this kid looks like a total beast! Let's not screw up Jason Pierre-Paul part deux. Get him N!
  5. This is starting to really aggrevate me. Why in the hell are we trying to slam a 185lb Abdullah into the line on 3rd and 2, and then a while later have Cross next to Martinez in the shotgun? I dont get it. I still prefer that to that stupid zone read PA play where Taylor rolls out and a TE rolls out to the flat. NEVER WORKS.
  6. Fair enough. Hadn't thought about that at all. Just would obviously prefer we only had threads talking about how studly Cam is game after game. One can dream...
  7. ^This Rivals didnt lie about him being the 5th best RB in the country out of high shcool http://rivals.yahoo....k-rivalsrb/2010 Wow, the four guys above him are/were just STUDS. Hardly anybody below is making any noise.
  8. It was really cool to see Taylor throw darts to Q for once (instead of Kenny) way downfield with with confidence that he'd go up and get the ball. Which he consequently did. Q looked like a physical No. 1 receiver today. We arguably have 3 No. 1 receivers on this team! Terrific problem to have.
  9. The only thing I can think of here is if it was enough for it to technically be a personal foul, which would be applied to the end of the play? I thought the officials had a poor game. On the 4th down we went for, we lined up and snapped the ball. They came running in and stopped the play and reset the clock, but never explained why? This allowed Northwestern to see the formation we wanted to run, get set and make adjustments. We probably wouldn't of gotten it anyway, but it's something little that pisses me of off. Another thing that happened was when we stopped Northwestern on 3rd down about 2 feet short of the first down. For some reason the officials came on to measure, even though it was obvious that it was nowhere near a first down. The extra time for measurement pretty much gave Northwestern a free timeout, and time to decide if they wanted to go for it, rather than being hurried to make a decision of going for it or not. It's just annoying. It's annoying BECAUSE we're always putting ourselves in positions where the refs calls can lose the game for us. That bugs the hell out of me. But you're right. I want me some zebra blood most Saturdays.
  10. This win felt like the Rose Bowl, man. Don't tell me you weren't on the edge of your probably-styling seat.
  11. Can any of you even imagine the sh*tstorm that would occur if somehow a tape of Bo doing this was released? And we think the national perception of him NOW is bad...
  12. I find it ironic that our pass pro sucked donkey balls all game, up until the point when we started having a pulse on offense and then driving on NW. And THEN they start calling us for having OT's off the line? That is some Dan Beebe/2009 B12 Championship Game BS right there. On an unrelated note, what the hell was the sideline warning on us called for, and why did the penalize us 5 yards on a WARNING? That ref sounded drunk on the call. I'm just now realizing how much I hate the refs we had today.
  13. It's pretty sad when the board has gotten so bad that it's driving away the finer posters. That bothers me.

It will calm down after 24 hours. People will just remember the win and not the performance.... hopefully.

It takes a couple of days for this stuff to settle down.

  14. It was not a clip. Stafford was the defender on the play. We were punting. Touche. I automatically think of any shove to the back as a clip. You're right.
  15. I agree with the OP. I'm really starting to believe the reason we see so many errors and just really stupid plays every single week is because Bo puts too much pressure on the players to be perfect and they psyche themselves out. Players need to PLAY, not think. They do need to loosen up. EDIT: Holy cow AR, you guys have had to resort to using the mystical Mod powers today, eh?
  16. Stafford pushed a guy to the ground (from behind-- a clip) 20 yards away from where the punt was being recovered. I didn't check to see whether it was before or after the punt was fallen on, but still a very stupid play by Staff. Why do we have to have one of these boneheaded errors that gives away a possession (SJB roughing the punter, Staff's today) every week? Dang.
  17. Which I am completely guilty of, but play action on 3rd and short is kinda dumb... true. Our oline hasnt shown enough competence on a consistent basis to call a play like that on third and long from our own, what, 2. and it should have been a safety. Just run the ball up the middle and punt. The play action on 3rd and short wouldn't be as bad of a call if they didn't run it so freaking often. The whole point of running the play action is to catch the defense cheating on the run. But if they know it's probably going to be a pass anyway, how does the play action accomplish what it's supposed to? I would say in this situation they would be cheating on the run. Deep down like that, as a defensive mind, one would think run. The only problem I saw with that play was the "lookout" block by the line that blew the play up. Which leads to the point that calling plays like that on our own goal line is just not a good idea until the line proves there consistency. What I learned was that TM's new found throwing motion isn't a mirage. He put several of those passes on an absolute line. I also learned that our WRs learned how to catch, which is a completely refreshing change from last year. I'll agree with you here. He's looking very sharp as the year goes on. There was one throw when we had a 3rd and 18 or something, and he put a 25 yard pass on a frozen rope to Turner along the sideline into traffic that got the first down, but it was called back on something. I think another lineman not on the line bullsh#t. That was Sirles who wasn't on the line. Most of us thought it was a bullsh*t call. Which most of them were. Man the refs blew hard today.
  18. Pretty sad when we have to devote a whole thread to pat a starting Blackshirt (god that phrase sounds wrong-- the whole concept of starting and backup Blackshirts) on the back for not underachieving and doing what he should do anyway.
  19. Oh my god. Bo's press conference's: After a win: "We executed really well today." After a loss: "We need to execute better."

Yes, Bo has a personal vendetta on me. It's because I paid the wife to seduce Carl and secretly force the Pelini Bros apart.

  20. I need to call Bo and see what blood pressure meds he's on, because I need them watching this team.
  21. Swing was WIDE OPEN for the deuce. Not Taylor's best throw though. Wrong. AA was covered. Watch the replay AA was open. I just watched it. TE picked the guy covering him.
