  1. When we panic and go away from our gameplan on both sides of the ball... By trying to throw with Taylor (as opposed to grinding out runs) and play soft shell defense (instead of blitz Wilson and get some pressure... We gon get rolled. Badly.
  2. Hey now, Musburger was just trying to get some revenge on the state of Nebraska for his open container violation. Well, you codgy old dumbass, that was your fault. Anybody willing to rescind their fandom over on ass kicking of a game can just get out. Huskerdom is a family, and if you're going to give up on it after one bad game... take a hike. Go cheer on Alabama so you can like a team that's always good. I can't imagine how some of you would do as a Washington State fan, or ISU, or Kansas, or Rice... You get the point. Now, I'll reserve judgment, as I assume you're talking strictly out of butthurtness.
  3. Fisher did get punched. My only regret is that they couldn't nail him in the fleshy patch where any normal male would have balls. The refs did piss me off tonight, but I was pissed to begin with, so I guess that doesn't really count. The refs were just another thing we needed working against us.
  4. Can we get a Lovie Smith freak out video posted in here so we can lock this?
  5. My name is Ricky Bobby, and if you're reading this thread, f*ck you.
  6. Dear lord, I am as disappointed as anyone in this loss, but I'd love to line up our whole defense and have you all tell a bunch of 18-23 year old kids they are soft pushovers who would have/ have stained the Nebraska tradition and shouldn't have been given a scholarship to begin with. I mean give the kids a break. They are trying, and failing really badly. I mean, they flat out suck. But hopefully they'll learn from it. How many people do you know that come in as freshman and sophomores that light the world on fire? I just feel bad for the kids like Evans and Green, who are still so green (pardon the word choice).
  7. Lol, funny how all the whiny whackos come out of the woodwork when we lose... On a related note:
  8. With the defense we are putting on the field, it makes no difference if our offense made mistakes or not. Wisconsin is about to eclipse the 41 point mark Oklahoma State reached last year, so unless you expect our offense to put up 50+ points again, we weren't going to win anyway. I too find it mind boggling that Beck totally abandoned our whole offensive identity to try and get in air raid mode with Taylor. Then we wait until we are down 14-41 to start trying to run the damn ball again. Good one, chief. Our defense is not very good. Take nothing away from Wisconsin's offense, though. They were flat out bigger and better than us. And we could not contain Russell at all. Our secondary is garbage and it's gonna take a long while before that changes. Absolute garbage. They split our safeties like a loaf of bread tonight. And our run defense just could not consistently stop them. We just got totally demoralized, on top of getting embarrassed. To be a fly on the wall during film next week... Also, could just be in a sour mood, but it seemed like we got a little jobbed by the refs tonight. Not that it made much of a difference. ***Sigh***: Once again, NU has successfully beaten NU Makes me sick as a fan.
  9. I thought it was a Washington State Cougs flag. Didn't make any sense to me, but I too wtf'd...
  10. That's what I was thinking. They are so screwed now. Well, it was already stacking up as a David vs. Goliath battle anyway. Looks like the Badgers just lost their David.
  11. My name is Ricky Bobby, and if you don't pick the Big Red to win, F#ck you.
  12. I really doubt that if the Badgers put 9 in the box with a spy that Taylor wouldn't be able to hurt them just by lobbing it up to one of our speedy receivers on the outside. Let's see, I'm no math genius-- but 11-9= 2 men left in coverage. And that means it's 1 on 1 on the outside with it just becoming a battle for who wants to go up and get the ball.
  13. Lol @ Watson... True. Now get the hell out of her... go back to Kentucky. DO NOT LIKE SI's prediction or anyone else who cites Taylor's lack of big passing yardage games as a marker of his ability to pass. There's a reason he doesn't pile up the yardage... That is not what our offense is predicated on. If we needed Taylor to go all Mike Leach Air Tard offense on people, we would have him do it or get someone in there that could. He runs within the confines of our offense and it works. So Taylor has operated our run first offense well for the ~1 year he's been healthy. When he was unhealthy, he couldn't do anything well, so don't use that as proof.
  14. Well, that's inspiring. Really Zoogies? Fisher doesn't get on that list for you? For me personally, a Blatchford/Thorrell platoon, Fisher, or having Cassidy "roaming" the defensive backfield are most concerning. By the way, in light of that article about the Wisconsin commit that decommitted due to message board chatter... I just want you to know, Austin, that I am bombing on you so that when you get on here and check this out, you'll be inspired to have a 2009 Matty O-Oklahoma-like game.
  15. It's kind of a moot point anyway. Ohio State looked terrible against Miami and didn't impress anyone against the Puffs yesterday.
  16. AND..... KU got ROLLED by GTech. Just throwing that out there.
  17. Ask Tony Romo how well that went for him in week 1. Especially with a lead, I'm ok with the safe play.
  18. Is that already confirmed? Edit: It is. It's on Gameday's website.
  19. Game ball goes to Bo's pharmacist. Dude seems so laid back lately it's like he had a lobotomy.
  20. So... I didn't feel this deserved another thread, and sorry in advance for threadjacking but... Does Gameday come to Camp Randall next weekend? The only other game that's even a threat is Bama-Florida, #3 vs. #12. I'd two top 10 teams and NU's first B1G game would be enough to win them over, but you never know. ESPN wuvs dem some SEC. Which reminds me...
  21. Was he? I only got one look at that play from afar, and I know the announcers said he was Taylor's third option. On this play, I know Taylor rolled out and found Bell open. But I think these announcers were pretty poorly informed for the most part, which is why I am skeptical. I think Taylor may have had one look from the pocket before he moved out and found Bell (which is a great play!) but I am not sure about third. I wasn't really sure, zoogies. I said that based off what the announcers said. We didn't have a good camera angle to see if Taylor went through his progression or not. I will say, though, that you might be right, as Taylor has a propensity to make up his mind who he's going to before the play starts. This is common with young QB's... unfortunately Taylor has just displayed it more prominently than most. Hopefully it will get better with time. Probably won't be next week though. My prediction: Wisconsin 734, NU -12.
  22. Gmoose: I think we have the advantage when our offense goes against their defense. If what everyone is saying about their defense being slow to the edge is true, that will definitely be exposed come next saturday. We will run that power toss and probably some stretch plays to test their defense in that manner. Not to mention us whamming right at them with Rex in whichever way we choose-- up the middle, on a toss, and possibly even the Rexcat. Our offensive line has given me some real hope the last two weeks... We'll see how they can perform against a bigger, slower Wiscy defense. I will say that I think if Wiscy's defense is indeed slow, they are going to have SERIOUS problems containing our team speed, especially if that OLine starts firing on all cylinders. And although I understand how Wisconsin perennially has an excellent Oline and run game, and Wilson is a good to great college QB... I would challenge the person who said they are one of the best offenses in the nation. Who exactly have the gone against that has tested their mettle? Although our defense is looking really vulnerable at the moment, I trust the Pelini Bros and Co to ratchet up some things by next weekend and have our boys ready. We shall see if either of the offenses or defenses are for real (most interested to see our D vs. their O) next weekend. That's why you play the game.
