  1. Anybody with a Scout subscription (I know there aren't a lot of you out there), they have an article with "the latest intel" and Scout's guess where Charles will end up. Feel free to enlighten the rest of us if you happen to subscribe
  2. Husker Nono, that's the sole reason I didn't bring up any BCS/B12 Championship scenarios. We need to handle business first.
  3. Thank you man, wholeheartedly. Even after the move next year, you'll always be welcome here at HB. Good luck rounding out the season, you guys have a good schedule and should get to a really nice bowl game.
  4. Ok, am I the only one who is perplexed by how Taylor got an ankle sprain? Bone bruise seemed to make much more sense to me... on the hit he took, he got chopped down by the safety, but was hit squarely above the knee. I'm lost as to how that would sprain one's ankle. Who knows, maybe it got bent at a weird angle I just didn't see.
  5. Rex was too busy fulfilling his new role... Niles Paul punt fumble insurance. Surprised me to see Rex taking back punts, but didn't disappoint me at all.
  6. Made me laugh, too, Cacti. Bravo... takes a big man to admit when his team would be challenged by an '07 Nebraska team
  7. Glad to hear the kid wants to take his time and make the right decision... Good for him. But our class is filling up, and if he waits too long, he may end up getting Harold Mobley'd out of our class.
  8. Yikes, there went the part of their team that I feared the most. I also did not know they'd benched Jerrod Johnson. Looks like he WON'T be a first round draft pick next year like people were saying after the end of last season. Although, Mike Sherman and his O coordinator have not made it very easy on the kid, calling pretty much all passes... way to balance things, guys. This is why Sherman is toast next year.
  9. Damn 307"? Thats one tall mf'er. Suppose he won't be able to play DT after all then... seeing as how he's too tall.
  10. I thought the end of the article was quite funny: "There are few things more pathetic than adult-male fanboys of a college program (any program) who tie their self-esteem to the exploits of teenage football players and where those teens decide to play football. It's creepy." This guy's credibility went right out the door with this statement. Everyone knows he did the same dang thing with Mizzou... until they lost, and naturally, it's ok to pretend he was never on the bandwagon. What kind of statement is this, coming from a guy who makes his living off of those same teenage football players?
  11. Bingo. Oregon is looking pretty lost right now.... Down to USC 32-29, and USC's got all the Mo. You know, the BIGGG MO... momentum. As Corso would say. If USC can close out, that would be very nice. Weird to cheer for them... but, whatever. I think a one loss NU team is more attractive to the BCS than undefeated TCU/BSU/Utah. Play some good teams, then we'll talk. Auburn and Alabama have yet to play each other, so one of those teams will get a loss. What'd be sweet is if one of them beat the other in the regular season, and then that loser goes on to win the SEC. In that scenario, we'd have a one loss SEC team and a one loss Oregon. The mere face that OU is still ranked ninth is a joke. They are not that good. We'll have our chance to do something about that if they win the South... over Baylor. I lol at saying that.
  12. I know the Duhhhhhh Duo (Cunningham and Franklin) mentioned that the team did things such as leave the hotel early, left the locker room early, etc. etc., just to make it seem like a road game.
  13. Ciante Evans - only thing our staff has to say about developing CB's. REALLY glad kid played like he did today... got really worried when I saw what happened to Dennard. Dennard's as, if not more, valuable to our D than Prince. More physical. I didn't get to see the second half since I had to work but from what I could tell, Evans played very well. He didn't end up having any bonehead moves in the second half, did he? Anybody know how he did?
  14. Yikes... gotta wonder if that Texas loss cost us James. But if he really wanted to be a Husker, he would've been. Perhaps on his visit, he just didn't gel and feel as at home as our commits all obviously had. Better that he made the choice now and was happy with it. I feel good for the kid that he made the right choice for himself, and good luck to him. Also, as I write this, Baylor is beating Texas by 11. Lol... Whorns moment
  15. I love this post! Great Post. I completely agree with you on the DT need. The only DT left out on the list above that I see contributing is Jay Guy, he had a HUGE offer list coming out of high school and was a Texas high school football player. I think it's going to take him a couple of years to develop though, he needed to get his weight under control and convert fat to muscle but I see him being an explosive player for us in 2012 or 2013. As far as OL, Tyler Moore is clearly going to play offense as coaches have already been discussing with him his opportunity to play immediately if he shows well in the spring. Ryan Klachko is a natural guard and I see us keeping him there with guys like Ricky Henry graduating and Keith Williams Graduating as well. Ryne Reeves is going to play center or guard and will stay there as he is one of the top 3 in the country and Caputo graduates next year. Zach Sterup does have some experience at DL but with his 6'8"-6'9" height I see pad level being a problem for him on the defensive side of the ball, one might argue that 6'6" stein is a DT but that is pushing it for height and Sterup is 2" taller. As for him playing DE he doesn't have the speed... most pass rushing DE's run a 4.7-4.8 40, Zach runs a 5.0. I see him playing OT, but of all the guys we are getting this year I think he may be one that doesn't play to his ranking... dunno why, but just the feeling I have. With that said, I would like to see us bring in at least 2 DT's and at least 1 DE this year. We have 3 4* DT's and 5 4* DE's on our board. These are guys that still have us in their list of schools they are considering. Although, DE's can grow into DT's pretty quickly if they come in at 250-260 so we could see some good out of that as well. I think a lot of people make too much of height when it comes to D-linemen. If you can play a position, you can play it. It doesn't matter too much if you're Jolly Green giant or midget sized... if you can flat out play a position well, I'm sure the coaches would play you there. In fact, before he signed with the Redskins and went to crap, most would've told you Albert Haynesworth was the best DT in the game today, and he is 6'6". Crick is as tall. However, my argument is really insignificant here, as I just don't see Sterup playing DT anyway. I think he's definitely an O-line type. Good footwork from Bball should help him there, and tackles can afford to be taller if they can still get their butts down and run block effectively. I think this is the question most of us have regarding Sterup: can he get low enough and be flexible enough to be a good o-lineman for us? Time will tell... good potential though. All those coaches from different schools that offered must've seen something they liked. However, my argument really
  16. I know most already knew this, but the most recent Moore we had at school was pretty decent too... Jay Moore was part of a pretty studly DE duo along with Adam Carriker back in the early NU Dark Ages (aka Callahan years).
  17. Whichever one, Franklin or Cunningham, was calling for a penalty on Hagg on that pass is legally, certifiably retarded. That kind of thing happens ALL the time.
  18. Dude's a freshman. Nobody had any of these complaints last week when he was doing something no other NU QB has EVER done... on the road. Just give him time and ride it out everybody.
  19. Correct, somebody got Pelin's fishtank guy, who doubles as a mechanic, to come and fix the HF advantage switch. It works again and we flipped it to on.
  20. I said when this game started we needed to kick off and set the tone right away with a 3 and out... but like this??!! DAMN!!! GOMES WITH THE PICK!
  21. I know I sent in a complaint straight to ESPN via their website. I got some generic response to the effect of "We do our best to select the best, most unbiased announcers for any program. We will share your concerns with our producers." Sure....
  22. Hopefully AG's decision last night will have some influence on Charles. With that many high profile Texans coming to NU-- Aaron, Tevin, Jamal, David-- hopefully Charles will see it as an opportunity to hop on the bandwagon and follow some local kids to a top notch school.
  23. I bet you, like myself Nuance, were one of the guys who couldn't stop smiling long enough to say "karma" when that story came out before the season that lil Gabb ended up getting sucker punched when he went out boozing with big bro
  24. Why? DAAAAAAAA BEARS! are in first place. Also, in regards to the guy who brought up Ray Drew, I believe they said in his profile we're not among his top teams anymore, but could be wrong. Hope so.
  25. That's what I was afraid of. Not necessarily true. Brandon Carter, that crazy face painting lineman for Tech last year, got suspended for a few games for violating team rules. It was widely publicized that he watched the game from the student section and supported his team. Now, a team suspension is different than one handed down from the league tool... er, commissioner, but he may still be able to come. You'd have to check some rule books or something.
