  5. Your best "quitting a job" story?  Mine...I worked for Lincoln Trap and Skeet...I think they hired me the same day I went in for the "interview" . I worked the entire day, a Saturday, I think.  I was supposed to come back the next day and just never did...It was HORRIBLE.  The shooters were dicks.

  7. How many people will die in the U.S. from Covid-19?

I guess it all depends upon what percentage of our population gets infected.  And how quickly it happens.  But even in the rosiest of scenarios I'm thinking estimates under 50k are low.  I'll be surprised if fewer than 250,000 die from Covid-019.  Death rates are running somewhere around 0.5%.   Maybe higher.  If one sixth of the U.S. population gets infected that'd be 250k deaths.  I guess it could be fewer if the virus is slowed to the point where we're able to treat the weakest ones who are most vulnerable to the virus' symptoms.

There are so many wildly differing estimates on the impact of Covid-19.  It's hard to know what's accurate.

My wild assed guess is that the toll will end up somewhere under a million deaths.  Say, 850,000 or so.

@BigRedN Agreed.  The people who will die will likely be those who catch it late and are elderly or have compromised immune systems.

He makes some assumption in his analysis which makes me question his reasoning. First he says: "For the sake of argument, I am going to assume that all 205 American deaths occurred on March 19th and all of these people were infected on February 25th ".    Then he says: "The number of infected people doubles every 3 days".  (If you're going to assume infections double every three days, then lumping the cumulative number of deaths together on one day would be wildly inaccurate.)  Then again I'm not a mathematician.

Reuters.   Or Reuters Canada if you want a slightly more unvarnished world view not slanted towards the U.S.

  20. Happy St. Patricks Day!

  21. Has your employer done anything different with this covid 19 stuff?  Today our older or those with any medical conditions were given the option to go until this is over, we have hand sanitizer everywhere, no customers or delivery guys inside the building and everything they drop of sits in a outside warehouse for 24 hours before being opened or used. Sounds like all overtime is done as well.

  25. During this Panic-demic gave me time to test my new speakers out. Ready Player One was pretty good, lots of bass especially during the race scene and end battle. The new Jumanji movie was meh but had some great bass. Need to test out Ford vs Ferrari soon
