  1. I hope the rumor about Quentin Toailoa—the Angry Samoan—is not true. The loss of Toailoa would be a bigger loss than Chris Williams. It’s too bad Toailoa’s potential was not realized at NU.
  2. We lose Asante and O’Hanlon. Hagg and West both return with the most PT. PJ Smith and Osborne are back. But we have a bunch of guys who would fit in nicely at one or the other safety spots—Gomes, West, Prince, Blue, others. I think we will be fine at the safety positions.
  3. Just one piece? He seems to have his eyes on a gum pair.
  4. NU offered 16 QBs this year. MU offered 8. Mizzou got a solid QB commitment from James Franklin way early in the process. Pinkeye didn't need to keep recruiting QBs. NU did not have that luxury. NU kept in touch with QB recruits all along because our QB recruit came from a family with a reputation for reneging on their commitments. Maybe next year our staff should be more cautious about the integrity of recruits we go after.
  5. No...Harrison Beck was a Callahan recruit and played all of one game for us. Is this a serious post? Ha ha! It was sarcasm. He was talking about Angela Beck the Husker lady basketball coach in the 1990s. Who is Harrison Beck anyway??
  6. Yeah, I look at a guy's other offers too. It may be a better indication of talent than stars. Sometimes. But like you say, it is not fool proof. Like Rodriguez. He committed early and therefore did not get any other offers. At least I think that's why he didn't get any other offers.
  7. Lingerie Football League. I am in favor of this. http://www.lflus.com/sandiegoseduction/
  8. Ha! I always thought K-State fans were the biggest dicks in the state of Kansass. Maybe I was wrong.
  9. Wow, 80 games! Sweet. And prolly not from the nosebleed section if you’ve been to bowl games, B12 CCG games and all. I’d bet dollars to donuts your dad or mom works for UNL. That’s prolly more games than 90% of the people on this board. More than me. And I’m a UNL grad. Ha! The Pittsburg game you mentioned--was that the one where you could see the flooding river right outside the Pitt stadium? Im lucky enough for my grandpa to have been season ticket holders since 1962...he was part of the touchdown club...throughout my dad's family we have 8 tickets...for home games...and about the pittsburgh game it was in 2005..correction...2004 was at pitt and we won 24-17...but the game I am talking about is the one we won in Lincoln in 2005....7-6.... I have been to mostly every home game since 2001...went to a few in 99 and 00....my away/bowl/conference championships consist of the following 2001- Missouri 2001- Kansas 2003- Alamo Bowl 2006- USC 2008- Kansas State 2009- Virginia Tech 2009- Kansas 2009- Big 12 Championship I apologize I was just on my brother's account...I was the one who has been to these away games...and started topic...my bad That is a list that every single person on this board would envy. I know I do. Only been to a couple of home games in the past several years. Saw us beat Penn State in a 2003 night game. Watched teh KU game from a skybox a few years back. Other than that, I'm a living room spectator.
  10. Psh. You clearly don't know what you are talking about. JUCOs suck. And Mike Rozier wasn't any good at all. Yup. Let's give back the trophy then. Ha!
  11. The QB coach Beathard that Zook axed--that is Kurt Beathard son of Bobby Beathard. Pretty good coaching lineage in that family.
  12. No way Mangino is coming to NU. But if he was, I’d take him in a heartbeat--if it was up to me. The guy is a damn fine coach and OC. We coulda used him this year.
  13. Great idea! All three of them could be co-offensive coordinators. And we could promote Barney Cotton to Associate Head Coach again—you know, to supervise the three vast offensive geniuses and such. Brilliant! This is a great, great thread with lots of really good football ideas!!
  14. Yeah, jucos, who needs them? I’m sure we would done just fine without guys like DeMorrio Williams, Zack Bowman, Zac Taylor, Ricky Henry, Carl Nicks, Maurice Purify, Dejon Gomes. And these are just a few of the recent jucos. Going back a bit farther we can include Mike Rozier on the list. He was a juco too.

  16. We should be much better next year - maybe not where we want to be evantually, but much deeper and improved from this year. Even with Hardrick I think Smith is the best LT on the roster next year - I think Hardrick may be a LT someday, but this year I want to see him at RT. Injuries and an utter lack of depth killed us this year. With Burkes, our depth is excellent, without him we had no RT that we could depend on, and with MJones as our backup LT the injuries to Smith and MJones were crushing. As it was, Williams played with a torn pec (not a great season, but he was hurting), smith had ankle and back injuries and could have used about 2 weeks off to heal, but never got them, Caputo will likely have surgery off season, MJones had numerous injuries, and Hickman was banged up a lot also. I see: LT: Smith; Hardrick/MJones/Sirles or Coffey LG: Williams/Qvale; Choi C: Caputo; Thorson/Ash RG: Henry/Qvale; DJ Jones RT: Hardrick; MJones/Sirles or Coffey Looks like a pretty good projection at this time, Wisdom. Deeper than last year. Until guys start getting banged up again. Any idea how Quentin Toailoa is coming along? Bo didn't put him on D did he? I wouldn't be surprised to see him start working up the depth chart.
  17. It would ruin his draft stock in two sports. Locker made $300k playing baseball for the Angels last year. So Locker, the best QB in college fb, plays out his senior year at UW. And it doesn’t even cost them a scholie—or at least he wasn’t on scholarship this season year. This is an incredible deal for the Huskies.
  18. Yeah, the combines can’t help Suh out much. I would be surprised to see Suh participate very much at the combines. Then again I’ve been surprised several times this season to see Suh pursuing RBs and QBs 15 yards down the far side of the field. And catch them from behind. The guy seems to show up everyplace.
  19. This is a good move for Turner. KU is a fine school, and it is closer to family. But Gill in Lawrence is going to hurt our recruiting in Texas. This is a certainty.
  20. Yep, like woodpecker says. The Heisman was awarded to the best RB/QB on a top BCS team. Just like always. The award for best college football player should go to Suh. But the Heisman is seldom given to the best college football player. Suh’s revenge for being snubbed will be to wreak havoc on NFL offenses for the next several years. And collect a fatty paycheck for doing so.
  21. Wake Forest v. NU, 2007. WF fans think they got screwed when there was no pass interference call on NU late in the 4th qtr. I was there, and thought the call could have gone either way. It went NU's way. WF thinks they got shafted. It does seem like we've had a bunch of ref calls go the other way lately. Maybe that means we are due to have a few blown calls come our way.
  22. I hope you are right about Corey Cooper. He is going to be a stud at the next level. He would shine in a Pelini brothers defense.
  23. Bwahahahahah! The comments following the article are a scream. What an overflowing douchebag Timmy Griffin is.
  24. Carl would only go if he values free shoes VERY highly.
