  1. That’s great that your son plays Div 1-A ball. Congratulations! (Seriously, that's way cool). Too bad you have to cheer for KSUcks though. Pssst: If you hear any dirt on KSU or Granny Snyder make sure you post it.
  2. The service academies? No. 1? Wouldn’t you think the top spot should go to a program that cracks the top-25 once in a while?
  3. They should have burned Lil Red. Then both Owls fans and Husker fans would have cheered.
  4. Well, we did quit spiraling toward mediocrity. We started plummeting.
  5. Wonder if Austin Jones could see some short yardage duty. Anyone hear anything about him other than that on Huskers.com, above?
  6. I would not bet for them to lose. But I don’t see a problem with betting against them if the spread was high enough—betting that the Huskers win without covering spread. Never done it though.
  7. He quit football back in 2006 citing family issues—I think maybe a sick relative or something. Then he signed with USC the next year. Not many NU fans had hard feelings though. Congdon had good accuracy from close in, but he didn’t have much range. I’m surprised USC brought him on board.
  8. I think we all know the levels of player development and talent recognition that Callafraud lacked. I'm willing to bet Pete knows what he's doing.. Maybe Congdon could be USC’s pooch punting specialist. Anybody remember the NU game where Jordan pooched one down to about the two yard line? Best pooch punt I’ve ever seen.
  9. Sure. I was looking for an excuse to put my feet up, and toss a few cold frosty ones back.
  10. I had no idea who you were talking about until I looked at USC's roster and found Jordan Congdon, with a g, a former kicker. Rawhide used “Condon” because everybody hates the Congdon family.
  11. Two QB predictions: 1) No way Cody Green takes over #1. Even if Zac Lee goes down I think Green keeps his shirt and Washington is first off the bench. /jmho 2) Sometime this season we’ll see something fun and funky featuring Latravious Washington. Wildcat set or something similar.
  12. Dailey, bust. Witt, too soon to tell. Beck, bust. Glenn, we will never know... still a secret. hmmm, mostly QBs too... thats weird. Glenn is now playing LB in the NFL and has a 4 year contract...I'd say that qualifies as a success. To the point of the thread: DeAngelo Evans...bust. Terrell Farley...bust. Yeah, DeAngelo Evans and Terrell Farley. Both had some serious talent. Evans had the injury. So I can understand why no success after NU. But Terrell Farley. Wow. Hard to believe a guy with so much raw talent did not parlay it into an NFL career.
  13. Even LP—with world class talent—crashed and burned. Maybe the biggest bust of all. (Yeah, "bust" was a pun.)
  14. Has an ex-Husker ever been successful after getting kicked off the team, or transferring to another school? The Castille thing got me to thinking about this. Richie Incognito has had a decent pro career. But I can’t think of anyone else having much success in college or the pros after being shown the door, or transferring.
  15. And you might add Syracuse to the list. I think they are running out of patience with Greg Robinson.
  16. And soylent green. Kill two birds with one stone. Mmmmm, tastes like bacon. Grampa bacon.
  17. Ahhh Matt Turman. The best third string QB in the history of the world. Yeah, a lot of QBs would have been 3rd team behind Tommy and Brook. The Turminator had a pretty good pair of QBs ahead of him. Among the best 1-2 pair ever.
  18. And the Namerator comes up with a new one for Oklahoma: “Cheeky Inadequate Hillbillies”
  19. Heh! I like the Namerator on that same site to create fantasy football mascot names: “Mangy Stinking Hags” “Mighty Sleeping Hermits” “Crazy Naked Swarm” Namerator link
  20. This is awesome. SI is filing FOIA requests to uncover the secret ballot results. Well, for the coaches of the public schools anyway. I applaud the person who thought of this!!
  21. Could this be true?? If so, then the solution is easy. Nebraska should just legalize marijuana rather than kick Castille off the team. Problem solved.
  22. * really, REALLY, old bump * Ha, ha, ha! Dick surgery. Was it augmentation or reduction?
  23. Big 12 Passing 2008 (top half of Big 12) B12(Nat’l) team ypg 1(1) Texas Tech 413.15 2(3) Oklahoma 349.36 3(4) Missouri 330.36 4(7) Texas 308.31 5(8) Kansas 305.62 6(15) Nebraska 281.00 ncaa passing stats Big 12 Rushing 2008 1(8) Oklahoma St. 245.46 2(20) Oklahoma 198.50 3(21) Baylor 195.75 4(37) Nebraska 169.77 5(41) Texas 167.46 6(52) Missouri 153.79 ncaa rushing stats You have to admit that our national ranks do tend towards throwing the ball. Of the B12 teams listed above for passing, I suspect Mizzou will drop off a bit with newbie Blaine Gabbert at the helm. NU will stay about the same. The other four—TT, OU, UT KU—will prolly be just as pass happy as last year maybe more.
  24. Our scoring defense will improve by almost a touchdown, giving up around 22 ppg. (Last year we gave up 28.5 pts. Ranked 80th in nation)
  25. I don’t think it is asking too much to know what issue caused Castille to get kicked off the team, in general terms anyway. But I guess Bo disagrees. And so we will be left to wonder… Ok. I’ve moved on now. GBR!
